Naruto: Reborn With An AI Chip

Chapter 24: Rokushiki – Soru

Even with the battlefield raging around him and Mist-nin attacking, Renjiro didn't hesitate—he immediately commanded Arkain to upload the Taijutsu movement technique it had just deduced into his brain.

[Beep! Data Transmission Initiated… Transmission Completed!]

As the cold, mechanical voice of Arkain faded, a surge of foreign yet familiar knowledge flooded Renjiro's mind. His eyes widened with clarity. When it ended, he had fully grasped the new technique—he had mastered it perfectly, as if he had trained it for years.

"So that's how it works…" Renjiro whispered as he realized the essence of the new technique. Then, without thinking, he said to Arkain inwardly: "I'll call this technique—Soru."

Renjiro felt that this name was perfectly in line with the function of Soru.

The technique Arkain had developed, dubbed "high-speed movement," shared remarkable similarities with one of the Six Powers (Rokushiki) from the One Piece Universe—specifically, the Navy's technique Soru.

Most likely, Arkain had drawn from the databanks linked to Renjiro's memories—accessing the knowledge of the Six Powers through his thoughts, and then extrapolating a functional model compatible with the chakra system of the Naruto Universe.

The reason Arkain was able to deduce this technique now was that it had analyzed Shisui's Body Flicker Jutsu. Using its powerful simulation and analytical functions, it deduced this Taijutsu—one that Renjiro had only dreamed about.

That was the true strength of Arkain. Everything Renjiro knew—consciously or subconsciously—was also stored in its library and could be used as a reference to aid in the development of whatever Renjiro needed at any given time.

In One Piece, Soru was based on an extremely simple yet brutal principle: stepping on the ground ten or more times in an instant, using the explosive force of reactive energy to launch the user at incredible speeds.

At first glance, the principle seemed very simple, primitive, even crude—without any profound background. But in practice, it required monstrous physical conditioning. The ability to rapidly stomp the ground ten times in the blink of an eye, and still maintain control over the explosive force that followed?

Even in the world of One Piece, where most high-ranking Marines possessed superhuman physiques, it was still rare to find someone who had mastered all Six Styles of the Navy.

But Arkain had gone a step further—analyzing the principle behind Soru, then combining it with knowledge from Renjiro's memories, various combat databases, and the chakra system of the Naruto world to deduce a brand-new movement technique.

By replacing the raw muscular demand with chakra-assisted propulsion, and integrating physics, kinesiology, and advanced chakra control into the mix, it developed a refined and more versatile version of Soru—one that Renjiro could perform even without the body of a muscle-bound freak.

At its core, the principle of the new Soru still revolved around stomping the ground to generate momentum, followed by an explosive burst of movement.

However, unlike the One Piece version, which relied purely on raw physical strength, this new adaptation leaned heavily on Renjiro's chakra and precise control.

Functionally, there wasn't much difference between the two versions. But if one had to distinguish them, it could be said that Arkain's version was an evolved form of the original Soru.

While the classic technique relied solely on physical strength, this new version depended more on chakra control—making it far better suited for a shinobi like Renjiro.

In the future, once Renjiro's body grew stronger, he would be able to use the original Soru with physical strength alone. But why limit himself to that?

When his physical power advanced even further, he wouldn't have to choose between muscle and chakra—he'd combine them. And when that day came, his speed wouldn't just improve—it would explode past conventional limits.

"Renjiro! What are you spacing out for?!" Zeri's voice snapped Renjiro back to reality.

As Renjiro glanced around, he was suddenly startled. Without realizing it, more and more Mist shinobi had gathered around them. He had been so focused on communicating with Arkain that he failed to notice the encirclement forming.

And the reason was clear—despite being just a Genin team, their unusually active performance on the battlefield had drawn the attention of the Mist-nin.

"Sorry." Renjiro apologized quickly, his voice was low and embarrassed: "I zoned out for a second."

On the battlefield, distraction wasn't just a personal flaw—it was a betrayal of the teammates who watched your back. As a team, survival depended on mutual trust and coordination; even the slightest mistake could endanger everyone.

"Apologize later!" Maemon said, sliding in beside him, and said in a serious voice: "We're outnumbered. Any ideas?"

Not only were they just a Genin team—they were also heavily outnumbered, placing them in an extremely dangerous situation.

Clang!

Meri appeared next, swatting enemy shuriken away with a flick of her kunai: "If only I had my blade... even a regular ninja sword would do!"

Although Meri was a ninja, most of her strength lay in her swordsmanship—like many swordsmen in this world. With a blade in hand, her killing power could rival that of an elite Genin. But without it, she could barely perform at the level of an ordinary Genin.

The same was true for Renjiro. After surviving several life-and-death battles with a sword in hand, his swordsmanship had improved rapidly.

Now, without a weapon, his most powerful offensive techniques were unavailable.

Though he had only learned the basics from Meri, Arkain's support had allowed him to perfect those fundamentals—turning them into a lethal style, especially in close combat.

"Ninja sword... wait!" Renjiro's eyes suddenly lit up.

Among the approaching Mist-nin, he spotted several wielding standard-issue shinobi blades—compact, nimble, perfect for their style.

"Perhaps we can take a risk and use this opportunity to test the power of Soru!" A gleam flashed in Renjiro's eyes, and then he shouted: "Zeri-sensei! Maemon! Meri! Cover me!"

Although the three didn't understand what Renjiro was trying to do, they immediately moved to cover him. They trusted him—because that was their strength as a team.

[Beep! Distance to enemy: 23 meters. Within effective Soru range.] Arkain's voice rang in Renjiro's head.

"Perfect." Renjiro whispered as he took a deep breath.

According to his memory, he began to move, mentally reviewing the steps of Soru.

Suddenly, chakra surged into both his legs, reinforcing his bones, muscle fibers, and joints. He aligned his posture, balance, and tension into optimal configurations—everything down to the millisecond was calculated. Then—

Tap! Tap!

Ten stomps in less than a second. Then, silence, after the final stomp, he released all the power accumulated from the previous steps—

Whoosh!

A burst of wind broke through the air—and Renjiro vanished.

In the next moment, he appeared behind a Mist shinobi who was holding a ninja sword. The unprepared shinobi hadn't even realized someone was behind him.

"Wh—"

Not until another Mist-nin turned—and his eyes widened in horror.

Whoosh!

But it was already too late. Renjiro instantly drew his kunai and slashed the man's throat in one smooth motion.

Pufff!

Blood sprayed across the ground as the Mist-nin collapsed, lifeless. His blade slipped from his hand and clattered onto the earth beside him.

"One down..."

In a single motion, Renjiro caught the blade—and then, using Soru, slipped away instantly.

"What the hell was that?!"

The nearby Mist-nin were completely stunned. A Konoha shinobi had suddenly broken through their ranks and killed one of their comrades in an instant—before any of them could even react.

"How did he do that?!"

But the ones most surprised were the three members of Team Zeri themselves. They had just seen Renjiro standing beside them—and in the blink of an eye, he was gone.

Before they could process it, he had already crossed the field and taken down an enemy. None of them could understand how he moved so fast.

"Is it the Body Flicker Jutsu?" Zeri thought in shock, then shook his head: "No, it's completely different. The sound he made when he moved… and more importantly—he didn't use any hand seals. Where did he get such a high-level movement technique?"

A few moments later, the surrounding Mist-nin finally reacted—and exploded with fury.

"Bastard!"

"He killed Hiroto!"

To the Mist-nin, it was a humiliation. Some kid from Konoha had the audacity to kill one of their own right in front of them. It was a blatant insult.

"Tear him apart!!"

Almost instantly, all the Mist-nin surrounding Renjiro launched their attacks at once!

"Hehe! Want to get me?"

But Renjiro wasn't about to stand there like an idiot. Before they could even react, he grinned, stuck out his tongue in mockery, and—

Soru!

Whoosh!

Renjiro vanished in an instant—using Soru, he reappeared silently behind another Mist-nin, like a shadow slipping through reality.

However, the remaining Mist shinobi were now on high alert, their senses sharpened by Renjiro's earlier lightning-fast strike—dashing any hope of taking them down the same way.

But Renjiro had already seized the initiative. With his Observation Haki constantly active, he instantly noticed the enemy guarding his vital points. So, he adjusted without hesitation—changing his angle and driving his blade into the Mist-nin's back instead of aiming for the throat.

This one was more cautious. He had witnessed the ambush and was on edge. A kunai wrapped with an explosive tag was already in his hand, ready for anything.

"Come on, little bastard… take the bait…" The Mist-nin was ready to ambush him.

But Renjiro wasn't predictable. With Observation Haki active, nothing escaped his perception. He saw through the Mist-nin's plan instantly.

"Hehe…" Renjiro sneered. He already had no intention of repeating the same tactic.

Whoosh!

As the Mist-nin braced for a throat slash, Renjiro shifted mid-motion—his blade plunging straight into the man's back, stabbing through his heart.

"You—!"

The Mist-nin gasped, his body twitching as the kunai slipped from his limp fingers. He turned, struggling to comprehend what had just happened.

"You were waiting… for the wrong move." Renjiro said flatly.

In the dead man's hand, the kunai was still tied to an explosive talisman. It was obvious he had planned to use it on Renjiro. But he never expected that Renjiro would change his tactics at the last moment.
