Naruto: Reborn as Sakura with Manyuu Chifusa Template

Chapter 261: My Name Is Uchiha Itachi and I’m the Fastest Man Alive. When I Was a Child, I Killed My Mother and Father. Then, I Joined a Terrorist Group. To the Outside World, I’m Just an Ordinary Missing-Nin, but

Secretly I Use My Speed to Commit Crimes and Kill Others Like Me, and One Day I'll Let My Little Brother Get Justice for Our Clan. I Am Uchiha Itachi.

"I'll leave things here to you, Sakura," Tenten murmured in her ear. "Try not to die."

"What do you mean, try not to die?" Sakura hissed. "Don't tell me you're—"

Pop!

And just like that, Tenten teleported away to parts unknown, leaving Sakura and Sasuke alone to face two of the Akatsuki's most formidable members.

"I haven't seen so many of those crimson eyes in one place since the Third Shinobi World War," Kisame commented. "Must feel like a family reunion to you, eh, Itachi?"

"Don't look into their eyes," said Itachi casually. "They might be children, but they are still Uchiha."

Sakura loathed to admit it, but even she couldn't risk meeting Itachi's eyes— not even with the Kurama clan's Kekkei Genkai bolstering her two-tomoe Sharingan's Genjutsu prowess. If she wanted the faintest hope of surviving this, they'd have to take him on two against one: draw his focus from the front, then strike from behind. Even so, that was easier said than done— especially with Kisame grinning a toothy smile at them from behind Itachi.

"Genjutsu: Breast Illusion!"

Sakura clapped her hands, making her chest bounce wildly as her pectoral muscles pulled on her breasts' ligaments. The sudden sound would attract her foes' attention to her hands, and then their eyes would be in the right place to get hypnotised!

"Chidori!"

His muscles crackling with lightning, Sasuke surged forwards like a thunderbolt and cleaved straight through Itachi's body, but the moment his fingers brushed against the fabric of his brother's robes, he realised that the man he had struck down was a fake…

The split body dissolved into a whirlwind of black feathers, crows erupting from the wound like smoke, flapping and cawing loudly as they dispersed. The murder of crows reassembled some distance off, melting back into Itachi's robed figure, completely unharmed.

A sudden chill prickled down Sakura's spine. Her finely tuned electromagnetic hypersensitivity was telling her there was something breathing down her neck!

"Substitution Jutsu!"

Sakura flew through the hand signs, her fingers blurring faster than her own thoughts. The Substitution Jutsu seized control of her limbs, sending chakra surging into her legs— and in the next breath, her body was in full autopilot mode, attempting to swap places with a nearby log. Tunnel vision began to close in, her world narrowing as she accelerated beyond human speed…

…until something yanked her backwards, hard.

Sakura cried out as a sharp bolt of pain lanced through her shoulder, her arm nearly wrenched from its socket. Somehow, Itachi had managed to follow her movements and seize her wrist mid-flash step, twisting it painfully so that she was forced to face him. And now, he was bringing a kunai down upon her breast, the tip of his blade aimed straight for her heart…

"SHA!" shouted Sakura.

She stomped the ground hard, sending herself spinning the opposite way to the direction Itachi had wrenched her arm, effectively undoing his armlock with a midair roll. And at the same time, she unleashed chakra from every last one of her Tenketsu, accelerating her angular velocity even further!

"Secret Art: Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven— Aerial Edition!"

Itachi's kunai glanced off Sakura's 360-degree protective shell of chakra, and he was forced to leap away to a safe distance, at last giving Sakura some breathing space.

Sakura unsteadily landed on her feet, breathing hard. There was a reason she no longer used Rotation as often as she once did— at the sheer speeds she could spin herself, it felt as if her breasts might tear right off! She wasn't ready for saggy breasts or stretch marks just yet; after all, she was still a young woman.

"You… you…" said Sakura in disbelief, her voice trembling slightly. "You were actually trying to kill me!"

Sakura was beginning to wonder if she hadn't imagined the whole subplot about Itachi being a double agent for the Leaf. If it hadn't been for Minato's reflexes and her sharp senses, she really would have died back there…

"Such naiveté has no place in the shinobi world," answered Itachi calmly. "I see now why my brother has become so disappointingly weak… it seems I must really kill you, if I am to have a proper duel with him."

Sakura froze, suddenly realising she had accidentally met Itachi's eyes! And yet, he had not seized on that split-second opportunity to stun her. Was he afraid of a Genjutsu Reversal like last time, or perhaps… could he not see her clearly enough from this distance?

"Tell me, Uchiha Itachi," said Sakura loudly. "Has the light completely left your pupils after what I did to you last time? How well can you actually see with those eyes of yours?"

"…"

It seemed like she had struck a nerve.

The last time they had met, Sakura had hijacked Itachi's Mangekyō Genjutsu and repurposed it into a soapland, extending its duration far beyond what he'd initially intended and severely exhausting his pupil power. He couldn't cast his Genjutsu from too far away, because he couldn't see her clearly enough! That's why he had resorted to a Crow Clone, as misdirection to help him close the gap!

Of course, this also meant that Sakura wouldn't be able to hit him with a Genjutsu based on vision from a distance. Manyuu Assassination Genjutsu: Breast Illusion was designed to work even on Dōjutsu holders, but it only ensured her victims wouldn't be able to look away from her breasts, instead of applying the full 'charmed' status effect. If Itachi couldn't see ten metres in front of him, it was pointless to use it.

Not daring to take her eyes off Itachi, Sakura pricked up her ears and listened to the fight raging behind her. From the sound of it, Sasuke was locked in a fierce battle with Kisame. His impatience to fight Itachi alongside Sakura, combined with his anger, was dulling his fighting instincts— resulting in numerous bloody wounds all over his body. If she could just help him, then they would be able to gang up on Itachi…

Itachi coughed and wiped his mouth with his sleeve.

Sakura focused her attention on the man in front of her. She couldn't afford to get distracted, even for a second. Even though Itachi was inching closer and closer to death with each passing day due to his wasting disease, he was still a monster on the level of a Kage…

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Sakura bit her thumb until she drew blood and performed the required hand signs, and in a puff of white smoke, two small blue and white slugs appeared on her shoulders.

"A missing-nin from the Hidden Leaf?" said Katsuyu, peering at Itachi's forehead protector. "Oh dear, could this be…"

"We're going to use the Chakra Transfer Jutsu and the Network Healing Jutsu," whispered Sakura. "I'm going to create a Shadow Clone— so get ready to jump to Sasuke's shoulder."

The potency of Sasuke's chakra had always been his strong point, not his chakra capacity. Furthermore, he wasn't as strong at this point as he would have been after three years spent training under Orochimaru, so he naturally needed a bit of help.

"Understood, Sakura-san."
