Chapter 73: Chapter 73

Rubbing his slightly sore shoulders, Uchiha Haruki took a deep breath and began casting Mind Reflection Technique on himself.

Once.

Twice.

Three times...

As he felt the special chakra generated by the technique flow continuously into his eyes, Haruki's heart started to race.

Even though he was fairly confident that his Sharingan would evolve from single tomoe to dual tomoe without issue, when the moment actually arrived, he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous.

On the sixth cast, a dull ache spread across his eyes.

After confirming there were no problems, Haruki rested for a moment until the soreness subsided—then began his seventh cast.

Soon after, the ache returned.

But this time, Haruki didn't stop. He pushed through the discomfort and cast the eighth Mind Reflection Technique in one go.

This time, the chakra produced surged far more intensely than any attempt before.

When that chakra poured into his eyes—his Sharingan activated on its own.

A second black tomoe slowly surfaced in his now-crimson eyes.

In that moment, two pitch-black tomoe spun within each scarlet iris.

There was no doubt about it—his Sharingan had evolved.

From a single tomoe… to dual tomoe.

Excited, Haruki stepped out of the house and looked around. The world before him seemed to snap into crystal clarity.

If the world before awakening his Sharingan had looked like 720p, and single tomoe was 1080p, then what he saw now was nothing less than 4K Ultra HD.

Even in the darkness of night, he could clearly make out everything around him with just the faintest light.

He glanced toward a corner of the courtyard.

A tiny insect had just crawled out from the grass, and Haruki could see the fine details of its wing flutters, as if time had slowed.

Clearly, with the second tomoe, his visual acuity and perception had leveled up significantly.

At this point, even if he had to face Koyahara Shuji again—with no Uchiha-Style Kenjutsu and no further improvement in Leaf-Style—just his eyes alone gave him confidence to stand his ground.

Such was the strength of dual tomoe Sharingan.

No wonder so many Uchiha became arrogant after awakening it. It wasn't necessarily their nature—it was just that these eyes gave them too much power too quickly.

Think about it: most shinobi spend ten-plus years of bitter training just to reach Chūnin level.

But for an Uchiha, one awakening of the Sharingan, and their combat ability could soar beyond Chūnin in a moment, erasing that decade-long gap in a flash.

Anyone would get cocky in that situation.

Only Haruki, because he understood the deeper truth behind the Sharingan and knew what kind of powers existed on higher planes, could keep himself grounded.

Otherwise, he might've gone down the same path of arrogance as many of his clanmates.

Clearing those thoughts, Haruki turned his focus inward, paying attention to changes elsewhere in his body.

As he expected—just like awakening the Sharingan had boosted his physical attributes, so too would its evolution.

Sure enough, he could feel a noticeable increase in his mental strength, and even his cellular vitality had risen.

After carefully sensing the changes and letting them settle, Haruki opened his skill panel.

A familiar pale-blue interface appeared before him:

As shown, with his Sharingan's evolution, his Physique rose by 1 and his Spirit rose by 2.

On the surface, it looked identical to the attribute boosts from the initial awakening.

But was that really the case?

Definitely not.

As Haruki had noted before, the higher the base stat, the more valuable each increase became.

In other words—going from Spirit 9 to 11 was not the same as going from 7 to 9.

The former yielded at least double the improvement.

The same logic applied to Physique.

Back when his Sharingan first awakened, going from Spirit 7 → 9 and Physique 6 → 7 had increased his chakra cap by about 2,500 points.

Now, Haruki estimated that the current increase would bring him a boost of at least 5,000.

In other words, once his body fully adapted, his chakra reserves would surpass the 10,000 mark—reaching the one-card threshold.

And unlike Kakashi's bloated 10,000, which looked nice on paper but was hard to fully utilize due to the strain of his transplanted Sharingan—Haruki's chakra was fully usable.

His Sharingan was natural—original equipment.

It didn't drain chakra at rest, and it could be deactivated anytime.

No constant leakage, no passive cost.

In short, Haruki's 10,000 chakra points would be way more efficient and long-lasting than Kakashi's.

Speaking of chakra consumption…

Haruki stared at the chakra panel. After watching it for a minute, the total dropped by 2 points.

So, his dual tomoe Sharingan consumed 2 chakra per minute—exactly double the single tomoe's 1-point drain.

Acceptable.

What he needed to figure out now was—did it still take 5 hours to gain 1 point of proficiency with the Sharingan?

If so, then fine.

But what worried him was if that time increased.

He glanced at the Bloodline bar:

Sharingan – Dual Tomoe (1/5000).

His scalp tingled.

This wasn't like when he awakened the Sharingan and needed just 500 points. Nor was it like going from one to two tomoe, which took 1000.

This was a fivefold jump—5000 points.

With his current rate of 13 points per day, it would take 385 days—over a year.

And that's only if the Mind Reflection Technique still worked as effectively for dual tomoe as it had for single tomoe.

If its efficiency dropped… who knows how long it would take?

Just thinking about it made Haruki lose all interest in looking at the rest of the panel.

Right now, he just wanted to test how effective Mind Reflection Technique still was, and whether he could still gain 1 point of proficiency every five hours like before.

Until he figured that out, he probably wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.

Once the thought struck him, he acted.

Haruki closed the panel, returned to his room, and immediately began running a full series of tests.
