Chapter 69: Chapter 69
"Haruki, are you sure you don't want to join the clan's combat unit?"
Inside a military tent, a jonin of the Uchiha clan with fully awakened three-tomoe Sharingan looked at Haruki and asked solemnly.
"Yeah."
Haruki nodded silently, and there was still a faint trace of sorrow in his eyes.
If he was going to play the part, he had to do it all the way. In everyone else's eyes, he had awakened his Sharingan after witnessing the death of his comrades—so he couldn't afford to appear too calm.
The Uchiha jonin sighed softly at his response.
"Very well then."
With that, he pulled a scroll from inside his robes and continued, "This scroll contains some techniques for using the Sharingan. Make sure to study it carefully."
He tossed the scroll toward Haruki.
This was exactly what Haruki wanted—but he hadn't even asked for it.
The Uchiha clan had given it to him proactively after learning that his Sharingan had awakened.
Haruki had to admit—he had underestimated just how much the Uchiha clan valued their dōjutsu.
He had only just returned to HQ, hadn't even had the chance to formally report awakening his Sharingan, and yet the clan had already sent someone to confirm it.
Once they verified that it was real, they sent him this scroll the very next day.
As for the offer to join the Uchiha combat unit, that was simply part of the clan's effort to protect newly awakened Sharingan users.
Even though Haruki didn't feel much emotional attachment to the clan, he had to admit—they truly took care of their own.
When the original owner of this body had lost his parents, the clan had provided a living allowance. Now, after awakening the Sharingan, they were giving him techniques and offering backup. That said a lot.
Still, Haruki carried too many secrets. Being surrounded by other Sharingan users all the time made him uneasy. That was the real reason he declined the offer. Otherwise, maybe he really could've coasted through the war inside that squad.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Haruki reached out and caught the scroll.
Before he could even open it, the Uchiha jonin pulled out another one.
"I saw your sword skills in action. Not bad. Here—this is our Uchiha-style Kenjutsu."
Haruki's eyes lit up. He took the scroll, unrolled it briefly, and murmured aloud,
"Uchiha-Style Kenjutsu..."
"That's right," the jonin replied with pride. "It's our clan's exclusive sword art. Used in tandem with the Sharingan, it can unleash tremendous power."
"Thank you, uncle."
Haruki offered a sincere bow of gratitude.
"Mm."
The jonin nodded in acknowledgment. Then he added, "Train well. Don't bring shame to the name of the Uchiha."
With that, he turned to leave.
But just as he reached the entrance, he paused and looked back.
"Don't forget to prepare. The clan will arrange for you to participate in the Chūnin Exams in two months."
"Chūnin Exams?"
Haruki blinked, then quickly nodded. "Got it, Uncle."
"As long as you know. Good."
The Uchiha jonin left the tent.
Watching his figure disappear, Haruki murmured,
"So it's almost time for the biannual Chūnin Exams again..."
But then his gaze dimmed slightly as he recalled his two teammates—and their instructor.
"Team Seventeen... I'm the only one left now."
Even Haruki, strong as he was, couldn't help but feel a little lonely in that moment.
But he quickly shook off the emotion.
This wasn't the time for melancholy. Now that he had what he needed, it was time to focus entirely on his training.
Over the following days, Haruki divided his daily chakra reserve of 5,500 points into five segments:
3,400 points were allocated to training the Reflection Technique, boosting its proficiency by 20 points and advancing his Sharingan's evolution by 4 points.
900 points went toward keeping the Sharingan active for 15 hours, gaining another 3 evolution points.
The remaining 1,200 points were split into three:
1,000 points were used to train Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Technique and Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique, each gaining 6 proficiency points.
The last 200 points were used to practice Leaf-Style Kenjutsu, Uchiha-Style Kenjutsu, and Ninja Tool Throwing—skills that didn't consume much chakra.
He also began exploring techniques for using the Sharingan more effectively. Whenever he had spare time, he would analyze and reflect on how to wield it better.
Outside of missions, Haruki was either training, on his way to train, or recovering from training. Every moment of his day was packed.
And so, he led an incredibly focused, productive life.
Two months flew by.
Just as Haruki had predicted, the Hidden Stone Village had slowed down its activity due to the destruction of its supply bases.
Because of this, most of Haruki's missions were relatively easy. His training plans proceeded without disruption.
That night.
Haruki, as usual, cast the Reflection Technique on himself.
Once...
Twice...
Three times...
On the eleventh cast, a strange sensation welled up in him. Haruki's understanding of the Reflection Technique suddenly elevated.
He had broken through.
After a moment of silent clarity, Haruki opened his eyes and muttered,
"Status Panel."
A familiar soft-blue interface appeared before him.

Haruki skipped over the other sections and focused on the Reflection Technique.
As expected, its level had gone from Lv4 (946/2000) to Lv5 (1/5000)!
To be honest, if he had stuck to his original training plan, it would've broken through half a month ago.
But after exposing his Sharingan, Haruki had reallocated his chakra and cut back on the time spent on Reflection Technique.
That was why it had taken the full two months to reach Lv5.
Still, the evolution speed of his Sharingan hadn't slowed at all—in fact, it had accelerated.
The reason was simple:
Now that he could activate his Sharingan regularly, he could gain more evolution points with less chakra.
The result was clear.
At this point, his Sharingan evolution had already reached 715/1000—more than two-thirds of the way.
The next big question was: what benefits would Lv5 Reflection Technique bring?
If it was significant enoouugh, it wldn't be long before his Sharingan evolved into the two-tomoe form.
