Chapter 12: The Mystery Behind the Cheat and Soul Integration
"Learn healing jutsu?" Nohara Rin's expression froze when she heard Ishikawa's request, and she looked at him with suspicion.
It wasn't that she didn't want to teach him—she understood Ishikawa's importance all too well. As a ninja, how could Nohara Rin not recognize his value?
Setting everything else aside, if Ishikawa were to die unexpectedly before she got the information she needed, how would she change her fate?
After all, who wants to die when there's still a chance to live?
But what made Rin hesitate was the fact that, given Ishikawa's poor chakra control, teaching him would be a fruitless task.
"Well, what I meant was to start with the most basic theory lessons. For now, I'll focus on improving my physical fitness, chakra control, and theoretical knowledge." Seeing Rin's hesitation and the doubt in her eyes, Ishikawa immediately gave himself a way out.
Of course, he knew his current limitations. Even though he had learned tree-walking, he was still far from being qualified to study medical ninjutsu...
Besides, practicing the Mystical Palm jutsu wasn't something that could be done overnight. Even Sakura, the heroine with plot armor, spent a long time mastering it under the legendary medical ninja Tsunade.
Thinking of this, Ishikawa quickly shifted his gaze toward the door on the inner wall, eyes blazing. "Ms. Rin, let's stop here for today! Time's running out—I need to start my training!"
Without waiting for a response, Ishikawa strode determinedly toward the door, grasping the handle with a trembling but resolute right hand.
"Crack... Crack..."
In an instant, the moment Ishikawa touched the handle, a surge of violent, thunder-like energy coursed through his body.
'This is so sour and refreshing—it really makes you love and hate it…' That thought flashed briefly through his mind before every cell in his body began to boil. The next moment, he collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.
"Is this your idea of training?" Looking at Ishikawa—his limbs stiff, smoke rising from his mouth—Rin stared at him speechlessly.
Even so, she hesitated for only a moment before gritting her teeth, picking up a quilt, and walking toward the other door...
"Crackle…"
That familiar sound rang out again. Nohara Rin's eyes widened in shock—as if struck by lightning—before she promptly passed out.
Unlike Ishikawa, Rin looked much more comfortable lying there, thanks to the bedding spread on the floor…
Damn, why didn't I think of that? No—I'm definitely using that trick next time! Ishikawa cursed silently, catching a glimpse of her from the corner of his eye. He gained a newfound appreciation for just how stubborn he was.
Sleeping directly on the floor wasn't nearly comfortable enough. He needed to buy a sofa—a super-soft, oversized one!
Wait... why did Nohara Rin faint? Still paralyzed and bored, Ishikawa glanced over at her, and suddenly his pupils contracted as if he'd realized something.
Now that he thought about it, the same thing had happened the night before. Every time he was shocked, he'd be paralyzed for at least five minutes, fully conscious the whole time.
But Nohara Rin? She fainted after getting electrocuted last night, too—but only stayed out for about two minutes.
The hell—is this thing biased?? Ishikawa couldn't help but curse again as he turned his eyes to the clock on the wall, waiting in silent agony.
Time ticked by slowly...
About two minutes later, Nohara Rin let out a soft groan and slowly sat up, her body still stiff and numb.
"I feel like every cell in my body is bursting with energy... It's like I just soaked in a hot spring! My movements feel smoother, and I can refine even more chakra now!" She moved her arms and legs, testing her body, then smiled in surprise.
This kind of 'cheating' practice was something she had never experienced before!
"Kakashi, Obito, Minato-sensei… I will definitely change the fate of our Minato team, absolutely!!" Feeling the most tangible growth, Nohara Rin murmured softly, a smile spreading across her face, filled with hope and determination.
While she was smiling, Ishikawa—still lying there like a dead fish—wanted to cry, but had no tears. Oh my god… extras have no human rights! Even the cheaters here don't get any advantages over the natives. This is shameful… far too shameful...
After doing some quick mental math, Ishikawa felt a sharp sting in his nose, and his eyes turned red. He was on the verge of crying!!
If he needed five minutes to recover after each shock, but Nohara Rin only needed two, didn't that mean she could cheat 30 times in an hour?
Meanwhile, he could only manage 12 in the same period!!
Even ignoring the physical recovery time between shocks, her growth rate was still at least double his, not even counting their difference in base talent!
'Damn it... is this supposed to be my cheat or Nohara Rin's cheat!?'
"Hey, what's going on? Why haven't you recovered yet?" Just as Ishikawa was spiraling into existential despair, Rin walked over and nudged him awake.
Ishikawa gave her a look that clearly said, "How would I know?" Then turned his head to stare at the ceiling in silent misery...
It felt good to have a cheat. But if Rin's cheat was stronger than his, that pain was worse than death!!
It wasn't about anything else—it was just that the pride engraved in his soul as a transmigrator wouldn't allow it~~
"Wait, your face..." Suddenly, Nohara Rin stared at Ishikawa's face with wide eyes, as if she had discovered something surprising.
My face? What's so special about a face as plain as mine? Ishikawa blinked, confused. He had no clue what had caught her attention.
He was just a minor background character. Naturally, his appearance wasn't as refined or detailed as major characters like Naruto or Sasuke. It could even be described as… too ordinary.
Seriously! In this anime world full of handsome men and beautiful women, even Jiraiya looked better than him. Wasn't that just infuriating?
"It's very subtle, but… your features look sharper! Could it be… this door handle even changes your appearance?" As if reading his confusion, Rin exclaimed in wonder after taking a closer look.
"What?" Ishikawa's pupils dilated in shock. He blurted out instinctively.
Sharper features? Could it be that his cells had lost collagen from all that stimulation? That didn't make sense! That mysterious energy was clearly meant to strengthen the cells, not dry them out!!
After another three minutes of torturous waiting, Ishikawa finally regained control of his body. He immediately staggered into the bathroom.
"No way… no freaking way!!" The moment he saw the reflection in the mirror, his eyes widened in disbelief.
His once-ordinary face had become noticeably leaner, and there were subtle changes in his nose and eyes... At first glance, it still looked like the same Ishikawa. But if you looked closely, there were clear differences.
What shocked him most, though, wasn't just the improved symmetry or sharpness.
It was that... his current face faintly resembled his younger self from his past life. 'Could it be… I'm going to see that familiar, handsome guy again in this life. What the hell is going on!?
Ishikawa clenched his jaw, gritting his teeth. Without a cheat manual, he could only guess—but a bold theory began to form in his mind...
That strange energy from the door handle wasn't just tempering the cells. It might also be deeply integrating the soul.
And that… was likely the biggest difference between him and Nohara Rin.
