Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Forbidden Technique
Land of Fire.
Border.
Chirp! Chirp!
An eagle circled in the sky, then descended after two loops.
"The Third Hokage's intelligence report states that the Land of Lightning has withdrawn its troops, and the Ninja squad assigned to relieve us is already en route," Hayama said, looking at the intelligence in his hand.
Satoru stretched: "Hmm, it's finally over."
Three months, did they know how he spent those three months?
Patrol, training, patrol, training…
Anko and Itachi were almost driven to self-isolation by her.
Both of them were geniuses, but when facing him, they were always mentally broken by his sudden new Genjutsu variations.
Uchiha Itachi, the eldest son of the family, finally tasted what Beijing Douzhi, bitter gourd, and coriander tasted like.
He used to hate grilled meat the most, but now that had changed.
Anko was the same; besides chilli, she now had several more flavours she disliked.
In short, Satoru's life was fulfilling; although he was working, he never forgot to live.
When he missed his wife, he would send a message back to report his safety.
Anyway, his Pupil Setting Hand could imbue phantom beasts with special memories, letting them know how to walk and even register at the Konoha main gate.
The ferocious beasts imbued with abilities by Pupil Setting Hand were called phantom beasts by Satoru.
He felt that having an exclusive title was more impressive.
Uchiha Itachi also breathed a sigh of relief: "I never want to fight Brother Satoru again!"
He had truly experienced the feeling of being tormented to death and back, with no chance of winning.
He must study diligently when he returns and strive to break his Genjutsu.
This was Itachi's next small goal.
Satoru had told him about many of his Genjutsu, revealing a lot of his information.
Itachi believed that once he was ready, he would be able to nullify his Genjutsu.
He had learned a lot from Satoru.
Especially in terms of Genjutsu and combat.
However, there was one thing he would not learn: his mischievous habits; he seemed to enjoy playing pranks on himself and Ankhimself
It felt like Satoru got a strange sense of accomplishment when playing pranks on them.
It was like… the sense of accomplishment when a very famous person is suddenly punched in the face by an ordinary person.
This made Itachi feel very confused.
He didn't know why he had this feeling; it must be an illusion.
"Yo-shi, hateful Satoru, when I return to the Village, I will learn Ninjutsu to deal with you.
Just you wait."
Anko Mitarashi's eyes were blazing.
Satoru agreed with her idea: "Welcome to challenge me. Recently, I've had new Genjutsu ideas, and I'll let you be the first to try them."
He did have ideas.
After several months of research, he felt that visual Genjutsu could no longer satisfy him.
Genjutsu: Shape Manipulation was also already very proficient.
Next up was auditory Genjutsu, the most difficult to guard against among the five senses of Genjutsu.
Mainly, visual Genjutsu, when encountering a Ninja like him who doesn't rely on their eyes, felt a bit outdated.
Visual Genjutsu was also the most frequently broken Genjutsu.
Although according to his ideas, beyond Shape Manipulation, there was also Form Manipulation, but that was a vertical improvement; currently, a horizontal improvement in strength was more significant.
Anko paused at his words, her face showing a look of terror.
She felt completely unwell.
"Damn it, so we're just experimental subjects? I'm going to complain to the Third Hokage," Anko said indignantly.
"Eh? These are just minor Genjutsu; for truly high-end Genjutsu,
The Third Hokage told me not to use them casually on comrades. He won't interfere with these," Satoru said nonchalantly.
He was referring to Mind Reading Technique - Depression, which could be considered a trump card. Due to having too many methods, he had forgotten to experiment with them on enemies.
However, he glanced at Uchiha Itachi, also wanting to keep a hidden card.
Who knew if they would face each other later?
Now Itachi was still young, with limited methods and insufficient coping abilities.
It would be different when he grew up.
"Nani? These are just minor Genjutsu?!"
Anko's mentality collapsed.
The Genjutsu that she and Itachi had painstakingly tried to break were just minor Genjutsu to Satoru.
Uchiha Itachi's expression also changed at his words.
Recalling his family's teachings and the various Genjutsu recorded in the family's library, compared to the Genjutsu Satoru had previously displayed, Satoru's Genjutsu truly weren't forbidden Ninjutsu.
He was very curious about what kind of Ninjutsu Satoru referred to as something he couldn't use on comrades.
It was even worth the Third Hokage personally instructing him.
"Otherwise, what? You wouldn't think I'd need to use my ultimate moves to fight you, would you?
Not just me, Captain is the same, you know."
Satoru smiled.
Anko and Itachi looked at the Captain.
Hayama nodded: "Every Jonin's methods are not limited to just one.
For example, if you want to be promoted to Jonin, you must learn the nature transformation of other elemental Ninjutsu in addition to the Ninjutsu you currently specialise in, to better deal with different Ninja.
This prevents being countered if one attribute is weak, just like the Kumogakure Ninja we fought last time.
Both Satoru and I were able to seem powerful because we could use Wind Release.
If the Kumogakure Ninja encountered Iwagakure Ninja, the advantage would reverse.
Itachi's Genjutsu and Anko, your Snake-style secret Ninjutsu are the same.
Only when your methods are recognised as not being countered by a single Ninjutsu do you have the basis for promotion to Jonin."
"Ah!!! That's too difficult!"
Anko yelled, looking up.
The nature transformation of Chakra attributes, which she had learned from Orochiwas maru, was not generally difficult.
And it was just the foundation for Jonin; she felt she had no hope of becoming a Jonin.
Itachi memorised these things. As a Genin, his family had not yet popularised this knowledge.
But he also knew that not being countered was a basic requirement for a Ninja.
Satoru patted her shoulder: "Don't be discouraged. Look at how many methods I have, yet I haven't been promoted to a full Jonin.
I'm just a Special Jonin. You'll find it even harder, rest assured."
"Idiot."
Anko, hearing this, kicked him.
He was implying that she would at most be a Special Jonin!
Satoru stepped back, avoiding her attack.
"Alright, stop messing around. Rest well, and we'll return to the Village after the handover," Hayama said.
"Yes."
...
One day later.
In Satoru's perception, a squad of ninjas appeared from the direction of Konoha.
The Chakra of the person leading them was much larger than that of an ordinary Ninja.
At least larger than his and Hayama's.
It seemed the Village still wasn't completely at ease; the relieving Ninja was still a master.
The other three, seeing him stand up, also looked in the same direction.
Soon, they saw a large, chubby man wearing a red vest come into view.
After entering a certain distance, they could see each other as well.
Hayama exchanged a secret signal with the other side, confirmed they were allies, and then began to approach.
"It's Satoru. From now on, we'll be taking over your post," Choza said, smiling and greeting Satoru when he saw him.
Satoru didn't recognise any of the team members behind him, so he assumed it was a newly formed team.
"It's been a while, Senior Choza, you've become even more robust," Satoru politely complimented him.
He was indeed strong; no wonder he could even stand against the Ten-Tails in the later stages!
It was also no wonder that he sensed the immense Chakra of the approaching person.
Choza, hearing the compliment, scratched his head happily: "Haha!"
Hayama, as the Captain, also nodded.
He then reported the recent patrol situation to Choza and the others in real-time before leaving with Satoru and his two teammates.
