Chapter 46: Chapter 46 Patrol caravan

Itachi stared intently at him.

He seemed unfazed by his words, still waiting for Satoru's answer.

"Stubborn boy, the so-called Will of Fire is about protection, protecting what you want to protect. As for the choice between family and Village, it's not within my consideration.

With the time spent considering that, perhaps we can surpass the First Hokage Senju Hashirama and your clan's Uchiha Madara, achieving the power to handle both.

Choices are for the weak; the strong take everything."

Satoru said slowly.

Susanoo combined with the Great Buddha, two people destroying four countries.

Who would dare to object, and who could object?

Uchiha Itachi's eyes shifted. He felt that Senior Satoru was right, but he didn't believe anyone could be invincible in the world.

Therefore, between the Village and the family, if reconciliation was impossible, a choice had to be made.

He secretly kept Satoru's words in mind, and also knew that he wouldn't get any more inspiration from this senior.

But he wouldn't give up on becoming a bridge to ease the relationship between his family and the Village.

Anko Mitarashi stopped her angry face and sneered, "You're dreaming! Not even Hokage-sama could do all that, and there's even the Fourth Hokage. The Sannin are all careful on the battlefield, and they still have to make choices when necessary."

Even she had to choose between Orochimaru and the Village, and in the end, she chose the Village.

Orochimaru also had to choose between the Village and his ambitions.

"That's why I said these are very boring questions, especially Itachi, who acts like he needs to know!" Satoru said helplessly.

"People's wills are different. You can only get a reference, but others can't choose for you; you have to rely on yourself."

Finally, he pointed to his head and said to Itachi.

"I understand, Senior Satoru."

Realising that further questions were useless, Itachi was direct.

"Hey, don't think what happened just now is over. Sooner or later, I'm going to beat you up." Anko remembered the scene of eating chilli, tears in her eyes; it was too painful.

Caw caw!

Coo coo~

Animal calls occasionally echoed in the forest.

"Alright, we've rested enough. It's time to get to work. We're not here to chat. Look how motivated the captain is."

Satoru felt his stamina recover and said.

They needed to finish the mission quickly so they could return to Konoha before the next handover.

Uchiha Itachi and Anko also became serious.

"Understood."

"This is a new technology from the Land of Fire, a radio."

Satoru tossed each of them a device to wear around their necks. The device was like the neck-worn headphones from his previous life, but a bit smaller.

"Radio?"

The two took the radios and examined them carefully.

They had a curved, round shape.

"Yes, it's a new thing that came out in the last year, but it's quite bulky, and the connection range is only about one kilometre. Still, it's better than nothing."

Satoru nodded.

He had acquired these in the Land of Fire. The technology was still a bit lacking, and its small range and bulkiness were its drawbacks.

But it also had advantages: they could communicate at any time within a short distance.

"Try it."

Satoru explained the usage to them, then moved a distance away to test it.

"Hello, hello, can you hear me?" Satoru's voice came from Itachi's neck, and it was very clear.

He looked around, confirming that Satoru wasn't speaking nearby, and the sound was entirely coming from the device on his neck.

His eyes gradually brightened.

Following Satoru's instructions, he fiddled with it: "Received, received."

"Oh, this is good stuff! Why didn't I discover it before? I need to equip one when I lead a team in the future." Just after saying a few words, Anko's voice also came from inside.

"Everyone patrols in their way, don't go beyond the radio range, and report any anomalies promptly." Hayama's voice also came through.

"Eh, Captain, how do you have one too?"

"Because the captain and I are classmates. For something so convenient, of course, I had to communicate with him first."

Satoru said.

Sky, white clouds.

Whoosh whoosh~

"That's the essential trade route between the Land of Iron and the Land of Fire. The location where the trade caravan was robbed is about three kilometres from here."

Satoru sat on the Flying Eagle, using binoculars to scan the surroundings.

A massive road appeared before them, with tall trees on both sides, and the road stretched very, very long.

This was their fifth day patrolling the border, and there was still no progress.

Satoru's perception, Uchiha Itachi's Sharingan, Anko's limbless creature reconnaissance, and the captain's rich experience—

They still hadn't found a single clue.

He even got the captain's permission to check every route from the Land of Iron to the Land of Fire.

"Hmm? Is that a mineral trade caravan?"

Suddenly.

A caravan came into view.

There were about fifty people, a dozen carriages, and patrolling Ninja guarding them.

Judging by their cautious demeanour, they must have been aware of the recent issues.

Satoru pressed the radio: "A mineral caravan of about fifty people has entered the patrol area. We cannot rule out the possibility of an enemy ambush."

"Received."

"Received."

"Received."

After receiving replies and confirming that all voices were clear, he focused on the caravan, recording the number of people, the number of vehicles, people's expressions, and the tracks left by the carriages, using polar coordinates to mentally map the scene in a planar way.

He then took out a paper and a pen to record it.

"Something's a bit off!"

Looking at the data in his hand, he noticed that the expressions on some people's faces were unnatural, and their eyes darted around very subtly.

They would occasionally glance at the patrolling guard Ninja, and their facial muscles would show micro-expressions that didn't quite fit when they looked at the carriages.

Individually, they seemed normal, but when all the data was put together, it started to look abnormal.

He then controlled the Flying Eagle to descend slowly over a forest.

Hayama and the other two were already waiting.

"Did you find anything?" Hayama asked.

"Yes, based on my analysis, this caravan is being targeted. There are spies inside. If I'm not mistaken, after a certain distance, in a narrower section of the road, someone will launch an attack."

Satoru recalled carefully, confirmed he wasn't mistaken, and then told the captain.

"Hmm? How could you tell there were spies in that caravan from a distance?" Anko asked, very curious.

Itachi also looked at him.

If he had already made contact, he would have told his teammates. Since he didn't, it meant he discovered it through observation.

Satoru: "Transformation Jutsu, no matter what kind, transforms one into a reference object. Among the people who appeared just now, some had incorrect micro-expressions. Normal humans cannot make those expressions; it should be due to imperfect Transformation Jutsu."

"Moreover, just ahead is a very good ambush spot, and combined with our previous intelligence, we can analyse something.

Of course, it doesn't rule out the possibility of my mistake, but even if I'm wrong, it just proves the caravan is safe."

All the data formed a closed loop, just like police evidence. As long as the loop is complete, the probability approaches 100%.
