Naruto: Madara is my Daddy

Chapter 43: 43

At Uchiha Madara's secret base, the quiet of the late night was a fragile peace. Nearby, in the village they had built, the Uchiha clan slept, living a life far removed from the dangers of the world they had left behind.

"Mom, why haven't father and Itachi come back yet?" Sasuke asked, standing by the window, his small face etched with anxiety.

"Perhaps Lord Madara has assigned them some tasks," Mikoto replied, coming to Sasuke's side with a gentle smile after making his bed. "It's so late, you should sleep. They will be back when you wake up."

"No! I want to go practice!" Sasuke shook his head violently. He was too worried about his brother and had no intention of sleeping.

"Sasuke! Come back!" Mikoto called after him, but he had already ignored her, jumping out the window and disappearing into the woods.

"This child… really!" Mikoto sighed helplessly.

At the highest point of the mountainous peninsula, a large group of Root ninja gathered, their masked faces staring down into the valley below like vultures. Danzō stood at the forefront, his gaze sweeping over the landscape as he sneered.

"Hmph. Fugaku, you are clever. You've masked the Uchiha Flame Formation with an illusion. No wonder my subordinates could not see it."

A Root ninja beside him asked, "Lord Danzō, what do you mean?"

Danzō raised his hand, pointing into the darkness. "That is the hiding place of the Uchiha clan. It is surrounded by their clan's secret barrier ninjutsu, the Uchiha Flame Formation."

The Root ninja stared in the direction Danzō pointed, but saw nothing.

Danzō's face darkened. "Do not bother looking. You cannot see it without the Sharingan. The Uchiha Flame Formation is, as the name suggests, a wall of fire. But its caster has shrouded it in an illusion that can only be pierced by the Sharingan. Hmph. Deceitful Uchiha."

"I see. No wonder we could not detect a barrier. Then, Lord Danzō, how do we break it?"

"Break it?" Danzō frowned. "The flames of this barrier are said to be the inextinguishable black flames of hell, capable of burning anything to ash. It is nearly impossible to breach by force."

"This…" The Root ninja looked at his comrades. If even Lord Danzō could do nothing, then their mission tonight was a failure.

"Do not panic. I have a solution," Danzō said, a cruel smile touching his lips. "To achieve my goals, I am willing to sacrifice anything—even my own summoning beast." Danzō bit his thumb, smearing the blood across his palm. "Summoning Jutsu!"

With a roar, a giant, dream-devouring Baku appeared before them. This was Danzō's personal summoning beast. Its massive jaws could generate a powerful vacuum, using Wind Release to swallow anything in its path.

"Go, Baku. The time has come to serve your master. Inhale those flames." The mission was tantamount to a death sentence for the Baku. Perhaps Danzō's brainwashing was so complete that it extended even to his summoned beasts. They obeyed him without question, just as his Root shinobi did.

At Danzō's command, the Baku approached the invisible fire wall without complaint, raised its trunk, and opened its massive maw, beginning to inhale with ferocious power.

Inside the Uchiha secret base, Madara, who was sleeping soundly while holding Shiro, suddenly woke. He closed his eyes, his senses extending out into the night.

"Father, what's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Shiro rubbed his eyes sleepily, letting out a small yawn.

"Someone is destroying the barrier I erected. Hmph! Who would dare?"

"Ah, Madara, you're awake," White Zetsu said, its head emerging from the stone floor. "The intruder is Danzō of Konoha. He's leading a group of Root ninja. They must be targeting the Uchiha clan."

"Danzō?" Madara raised an eyebrow. "Who is he?"

White Zetsu responded respectfully, "He is from the Shimura clan, a senior advisor to Konoha, and was once a disciple of Tobirama Senju. Danzō inherited Tobirama's ideology. The Uchiha clan's decline is largely his doing."

When he heard the name Tobirama, a cold, familiar rage ignited in Madara's heart. "Tobirama," he seethed. The enemy who had killed his only brother. "It was bad enough that he was so hostile to the Uchiha, but to pass on his poisoned ideology to the next generation… This man, Danzō, must not be allowed to live." Madara got out of bed, intending to kill his enemy's apprentice himself.

"Father! Let me handle this," Shiro said, jumping to Madara's side and shaking his arm gently. "Don't be angry. It is bad for your health. I watched your performance this morning. Tonight, it is your turn to watch mine."

White Zetsu interrupted, "Shiro, Danzō is very strong. Do not underestimate him."

Shiro knew how powerful Danzō was, but he had absolute confidence in his own current strength. "Danzō is the student of my father's greatest enemy. It is only natural that I should be the one to deal with him."

"Father, believe in me. If you are truly worried, just watch from the side, alright?" Shiro looked at Madara with pleading eyes. "Your son has grown up. It is my turn to protect you now."

Hearing Shiro's heartfelt words, Madara let out a deep, excited laugh. "Alright! My son, I will allow it. But let me be clear: if I sense you are in any danger, I will intervene immediately. Do not blame your father for it."

"No problem, pinky promise."

After the father and son sealed their promise, they walked out the door hand in hand.

"Wait, Madara, take them as well," White Zetsu said, raising a hand toward the secret chamber. "The clan is in trouble. They will be anxious if they know what is happening. I only injected a small amount of Hashirama's cells into them earlier today. They should have adapted by now. We can use this opportunity to let them grow accustomed to their new power."

Madara nodded. "Good. Then go and inform them. My son and I will go on ahead." With that, the father and son walked out of the stone gate and headed off into the distance.

Outside the Flame Formation, as the Baku collapsed to the ground, dead from its excruciating effort, the flames of the barrier were finally extinguished. Danzō raised his head slightly, waving a hand at his subordinates. "Go," he commanded, his voice ruthless. "Remember, leave no one alive. Then, collect all of their awakened Sharingan."

"Yes, sir!"

The Root ninja turned into black shadows, disappearing in the blink of an eye. Danzō began to walk slowly down the path, confident in the abilities of his subordinates. By the time he arrived, the matter would be concluded.

At that moment, an old man and a small child suddenly appeared before him.

"Hey, old man. Your name is Danzō, isn't it?"
