Naruto: I have Ten Skill Bars

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: The Legendary Skill That Men Dream Of...

[Congratulations! New skill acquired.]

[Transparent Escape Technique]

It's real.

It worked.

Though the analysis had taken a while—and though Gekkō Hayate had spent nearly an hour demonstrating, explaining, and guiding him—Shigure had still succeeded.

He'd fully acquired a bloodline ability.

So it was possible. Kekkei Genkai could be analyzed and learned... it just took more time.

And this wasn't even a powerful one. If something like Transparent Escape took an hour to analyze—

What about something truly powerful?

Like the Sharingan? Or Wood Release?

[Great Sage: If the skill is already complete and fully documented, the time required is significantly reduced.]

Shigure's eyes lit up.

Is that so?

So if he could find a complete, well-structured version of a Kekkei Genkai... could he just analyze it immediately?

He was genuinely excited by the prospect.

"Shigure," Hayate said gently, not realizing what had just happened, "don't get discouraged. Kekkei Genkai are usually passed down genetically, but they can sometimes emerge through training."

"If you're really interested in Transparent Escape, I can share how I developed it—maybe it'll help you figure it out too."

But in his heart, Hayate couldn't help but mutter:

Yeah, right... developing a bloodline limit through training? That's basically a fantasy.

In the long history of the ninja world, all known Kekkei Genkai had emerged from rare genetic mutations passed down through bloodlines.

No one had ever truly developed one from scratch.

"It's just not possible..." he thought.

"But Brother Hayate," Shigure interrupted, his voice calm but confident, "I think... I can do it."

Hayate blinked. "Huh?"

"I said... I think I can master it."

For a moment, Hayate stared blankly at him.

Then he laughed lightly, as if humoring a child's dream.

"There's no way," he thought. "Even though Transparent Escape isn't one of the more powerful Kekkei Genkai, it's still a bloodline limit."

He himself had only discovered it in a life-or-death moment, desperate to avoid enemy detection during a mission. And even then, it had taken intense effort to control.

This wasn't something anyone could just learn.

So, with a faint smile that clearly showed disbelief, he waved Shigure off—

Only for Shigure to suddenly perform a hand seal.

Ram Seal.

His body began to fade.

His figure shimmered like heat haze—and vanished completely.

Hayate's expression froze.

And then slowly warped into one of utter disbelief.

"H-how... how is this possible...?" he muttered, eyes wide. "You actually... learned Transparent Escape?"

Shigure reappeared, his body phasing back into view, and he looked down at his own hands in awe.

That strange sensation—the loss of weight, the blurring of his presence—it was surreal.

"Yeah. I did," he said casually.

But his calm tone only made Hayate's brain short-circuit harder.

"NO! No, no, no—this doesn't make sense!" Hayate shouted, stumbling back a step. "You... you actually learned it?!"

He had spent over an hour carefully walking Shigure through it, sure—but this wasn't some simple ninjutsu. It was a technique that came from a bloodline mutation!

If someone could master something like that just from explanation... wouldn't bloodline-limit clans just start holding training classes?

This was impossible.

But Shigure wasn't done.

He activated the Transparent Escape Technique again.

This time, not only did his body vanish—but his presence disappeared entirely. Even Hayate, a tokubetsu jōnin, couldn't sense him at all.

The full version. The complete form of the technique.

He'd truly mastered it.

Hayate stood frozen for several moments, then muttered under his breath, "So... this really is a Moonlight Clan Kekkei Genkai?"

He rubbed the back of his head, stunned.

"If the rest of the clan hears about this... they'll go nuts. They'll all try to train it immediately."

But if it wasn't a hereditary trait... how had Shigure done it?

Could he really have developed a bloodline-limit technique just by listening to a lecture for an hour?

Between the two possibilities—Hayate would much rather believe the former.

Because if Shigure truly developed a Kekkei Genkai on his own...

Was he even human anymore?

Meanwhile, Shigure was still thinking about the nature of the Transparent Escape Technique.

Its properties were definitely bloodline-related, but what about its chakra nature?

His own chakra was likely limited to one basic nature, maybe two at most. As a civilian-born ninja, that was the standard.

So how could one chakra nature evolve into a bloodline limit?

This needed more research.

Just then, Hayate grabbed Shigure's shoulders firmly.

His expression was serious—but this time, his disbelief had turned into admiration.

"I don't know how you pulled this off... but with the Transparent Escape Technique and your swordsmanship, there's no doubt in my mind."

"You'll become an elite jōnin someday."

"Shigure... The future of the Moonlight Clan rests on your shoulders!"

Shigure blinked, surprised.

The future of the clan... on me?

He gave a helpless smile, but still nodded. "Don't worry. I've got it."

Suddenly, Hayate's expression shifted. He stood straight, cleared his throat, and gave a few serious coughs.

His eyes narrowed.

His whole demeanor changed—gloomy, cold, and villainous.

"Oh, right!" Gekkō Hayate suddenly turned serious, narrowing his eyes at Shigure. "Since you've mastered the Transparent Escape Technique, I have to give you a serious warning!"

"You're absolutely forbidden from using this ability to spy, got it?"

Shigure blinked in confusion, wondering what kind of cautionary advice this was leading to.

So that's what he meant.

"Brother Hayate, don't worry," Shigure replied earnestly.

"I'm not the kind of guy who'd use this ability in such a shameful way. If I want to look at a girl, I'll pursue her the right way—and make sure she wants me to look."

His gaze was upright and sincere.

Hayate's expression twitched slightly.

"No impure thoughts at all?" he asked, almost in disbelief.

"This is Transparent Escape we're talking about! The legendary ability all men secretly dream of!"

"With this, you could sneak into any women's bathhouse undetected! Every beautiful curve and graceful silhouette—right there in front of you!"

Shigure raised an eyebrow.

Is this really what you think the technique is for...?

He glanced at Hayate's sunken eyes, the slight stubble on his chin, the dark circles beneath his eyelids...

And suddenly, everything made sense.

"So that's why you always look so tired," Shigure muttered, a hint of mockery in his tone. "Brother Hayate… you haven't been using this technique for... certain hobbies, have you?"

Hayate's face turned pale.

He immediately lunged forward and slapped a hand over Shigure's mouth.

"Shhh! Don't say stuff like that out loud!" he hissed, glancing around in panic. "I'm not like that—I'd never do something so shameless!"

Then, more quietly, he added, "...Okay, maybe just once. Or twice. You know... on special occasions."
