Naruto : I Aspire To Become Hokage Man

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Why Are Flowers So Red

---

"Yo, isn't this Anko-chan?" Naruto greeted Anko with a grin, noticing her approach as she came looking for Orochimaru.

"Huh?" Anko turned towards the river, spotting Naruto, who was roasting bear paws and fishing.

"Where are your teammates?" Anko asked, looking surprised.

"Well, who knows? But if the beautiful Anko-chan wants to come and have a drink, there's a fish up north, called tuna. It's so big, it can't even fit into a pot! When it turns into a bird, it's called bird, so massive that it takes two grills to cook it. One secret recipe, slightly spicy, with a bottle of sake—let's go enjoy ourselves!" Naruto shouted, holding up a bottle of alcohol. It was clear he'd drunk a bit too much.

Anko's expression turned to one of exasperation. If she was not the examiner for the Chuunin Exams, she'd think this was a vacation spot. Just then, a giant bear appeared from the forest, likely the relative of the one Naruto was roasting.

"Hi~" Naruto mumbled, still in a daze. "More food arriving? I can barely finish what I already have."

He quickly appeared on top of the bear, delivering a punch that sent it crashing to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Anko couldn't help but be awed by his raw strength and the violence of his display.

"This is bad! Orochimaru..." Anko gasped, startled by the turn of events, and immediately turned to leave.

Naruto, unfazed, slurred, "What's the rush? It's not like I'm here to kill anyone. Hiccup~" He took another swig from the sake bottle and casually collapsed into a lounge chair, completely carefree.

Meanwhile, Orochimaru, who had been struck by Sasuke, slowly descended from the tree, his face a little scorched, but otherwise unharmed.

Sasuke, astonished, had just started to remove his training clothes when he saw Orochimaru make a hand sign. It was a body-sealing technique! A simple jutsu, but one that made Sasuke completely immobile.

"Damn it! I should've taken off my training clothes sooner!" Sasuke cursed inwardly.

"You're quite proficient in using the Sharingan at such a young age," Orochimaru remarked, his tone dark. "You truly are Itachi's younger brother. Your eyes hold more power than his."

"Who are you?!" Sasuke demanded, growing increasingly agitated at the mention of his brother's name.

"My name is Orochimaru," he answered with a sinister smile. "If you want to see me again, defeat the Otonin trio under my command in this exam." Orochimaru suddenly lunged toward Sasuke, his head twisting grotesquely like a serpent, attempting to bite Sasuke's neck.

"I'll leave you with a little gift before I go," Orochimaru hissed, vanishing into the trees.

Sasuke, now in pain, collapsed next to Sakura, who had just woken up.

"Sasuke!" Sakura screamed, panic rising in her chest. She quickly scooped Sasuke up and carried him out of the area.

Meanwhile, Orochimaru, having left Sasuke, found a giant tree and embedded himself into it. Using the Living Corpse Reincarnation technique, Orochimaru wasn't in his original body, so there was always some rejection.

Anko, guided by the echo of the curse mark, soon found herself standing before Orochimaru once again.

"It's been a while, Anko," Orochimaru said, a grin spreading across his face.

"You're already an S-rank wanted criminal!" Anko said with determination, her eyes narrowing. "Even if it costs me my life, I'll defeat you right here!"

Anko drew thousands of kunai from her pouch and was about to strike when Orochimaru's tongue lashed out, blocking her attack.

"Not so fast," Orochimaru taunted. "Sulker Snake Hand!"

Suddenly, four snakes shot from Anko's sleeves, wrapping around Orochimaru and pulling him from the tree.

Just as Anko prepared to use kunai to pin Orochimaru's hand to the tree, a kunai flew out, intercepting her attack.

"Who?!" Anko exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise.

From the tree above, Naruto casually squatted, watching the scene unfold with a grin on his face. "Yo!"

"Are you working with Orochimaru?" Anko asked, astonished by Naruto's sudden appearance.

Naruto sighed dramatically. "Though I don't want to interrupt your reunion with your old master, I can't just let such a beautiful young lady hurt herself by poking a hole in my hand."

He then motioned for Anko to look behind her. Orochimaru, who had been pinned by Anko's snakes, slowly turned into a puddle of mud, revealing it to be an Earth Style clone.

"Well, you are a Special Jōnin of the village, so I suppose you shouldn't use the Forbidden Techniques I taught you," Orochimaru chuckled darkly. His cold gaze turned to Naruto. "As for you, brat…"

Naruto stood his ground, undeterred.

"Run!" Anko shouted at Naruto in fear.

Without warning, Orochimaru formed a tiger seal, activating Anko's cursed seal and causing her to gasp in pain.

"What is it that you want from me?" Anko asked between gritted teeth, struggling to hold herself upright.

"I'm just here for a little chat. I've been waiting for this reunion," Orochimaru said with a sly smile.

"You're here to assassinate Hokage, aren't you?!" Anko guessed, realization dawning on her.

"No, no," Orochimaru replied, shaking his head. "My current subordinates aren't capable of such a task. This time, I just want to mark the talents of our village."

Orochimaru then reached a hand toward Anko's face, but before he could touch her, a kunai flew out, intercepting him.

"I don't want to interrupt your master-student reunion, but can I have a word?" Naruto said with a grin.

"I'm sure my little brother caused you trouble earlier, so I'm just here to help him out," Naruto added, a cheeky grin on his face.

Anko raised an eyebrow. "You don't run away from danger, do you? Provoking an S-rank criminal as a Genin?!" she said, incredulous.

"I could've left, but since you gave me the opportunity, I'll take it." Naruto smirked, ready for the fight.

"You really want to die, don't you?" Orochimaru said, his expression darkening.

Before Orochimaru could move, Naruto launched himself at him.

"It's over," Anko muttered, closing her eyes, unable to watch the scene unfold.

The moment she heard a loud crash, she quickly opened her eyes. Orochimaru had been sent flying, landing on his back, his body facedown in the sand.

Anko blinked in disbelief. "What…?"

Naruto stood, adjusting his hair similar to Aizen with the same smirk he always had. "Today, you'll see why the flowers are so red. Why, indeed, they are so red~!"
