Naruto: I am Uchiha Shirou

Chapter 73: Naruto: I Am Uchiha Shirou [72]

Under the moonlight, Shirou landed steadily on the treetop, holding Uzumaki Kushina in his arms. The little tiger fangs of the Kushina in his arms were showing, giving off a cute yet fierce vibe.

"Uchiha Shirou!"

Seeing Kushina's fierce glare, Shirouo\ shook his head with a serious yet playful smile and said,

"Kushina, that's not right. You should be looking at me with admiration, your ears turning red, and your face blushing with shyness."

Coincidentally, the tree where Shirou landed was the same one where Namikaze Minato had just stopped.

"Kushina, are you alright?!"

At this moment, the two of them looked at each other, one above and one below. Seeing Kushina safe in Shirou's arms, Minato couldn't help but show a concerned expression.

Looking down, Kushina met Minato's worried gaze. Her expression shifted to one of anger as she glared at both men.

"Uchiha Shirou! How much longer are you going to hold me?!"

Under Minato's envious gaze, Shirou shrugged his shoulders and smiled nonchalantly.

"Mikoto wasn't lying. Kushina is soft."

"You…!"

Kushina's face turned bright red in an instant, and she glared at him fiercely.

Shirou, however, wore a face full of mischief. Saving the damsel in distress? Fake. Always fake.

When it came to emotions, he was always serious, never playing around.

Given the current situation, with so many flaws in the setup, he wouldn't be so naive as to believe it all.

...

"Uchiha! Who permitted you to be here?!"

An enraged member of the Anbu confronted one of the Uchiha ninjas.

The Uchiha elite, who had been acting so confidently, suddenly felt a bit awkward.

It seemed they had barged into a place they weren't supposed to be in.

It was like crashing onto a stage at a crucial moment in a play, mistakenly believing the scene was real, and stealing the lead actors' spotlight.

"Misunderstanding! This is all a big misunderstanding!"

At this point, Uchiha Fugaku hurriedly stepped forward to explain.

Some of the other Uchiha seemed to catch on, and though they felt a little guilty, they still maintained a tough front.

"We just noticed someone was kidnapping one of the village's shinobi. This is part of our police force's duties!"

"Exactly! Why didn't you Anbu inform our police force beforehand?!"

Initially feeling a bit guilty, the Uchiha police force members suddenly found a reason to be indignant and puffed up their chests.

Why didn't the Anbu notify the police force about such a major event? This was a sign of distrust!

How could the sensitive Uchiha not be enraged by this?

"Yeah! You guys don't trust your comrades!"

"Even the Senju clan trusts us Uchiha. Who do you Anbu think you are?!"

This scene left Shirou speechless.

The Uchiha know how to stand their ground.

"You… you guys…!"

The Anbu members were fuming but left with no words to respond.

Under the moonlight, on the treetop, the trio's expressions were each different.

Minato looked a bit awkward.

Shirou squinted, watching the show with amusement.

Meanwhile, Kushina's face was full of rage as she glared at the sloppy play unfolding before her.

"Minato, what do you think of this show?"

Shirou suddenly teased with a playful grin.

Minato was momentarily stunned but soon smiled and replied,

"As long as Kushina is safe, that's all that matters."

As he spoke, he stole a glance at the still-fuming Kushina, secretly breathing a sigh of relief.

It seemed that throughout this whole ordeal, Kushina had not betrayed the village. In that sense, she had passed the test.

As for the hero saves the beauty?

Minato glanced at Shirou and smiled.

The curtain had been lifted, revealing the tricks behind it.

This, in turn, created a fair playing field for competition.

But Shirou saw the meaning behind Minato's gaze. Smiling and shaking his head, he thought to himself,

Young man, you have no idea how a girl's heart works.

"Hmph! Uchiha Shirou, are you going to put me down or not?!"

Kushina snorted coldly, causing Shirou to reluctantly let her go. After all, her soft body and those long, slender legs… tsk tsk.

However, after being put down, Kushina looked a bit annoyed and glared at him.

Damn it! I told you to put me down, but you did it?!

"Kushina, are you—"

"Shut up!"

Before Minato could finish his concern, Kushina, still seething, snapped at him.

This left Minato scratching his head awkwardly, while Kushina's eyes burned with rage as she glared at both of them.

One blonde, one black-haired.

One wore a teasing grin, while the other had a look of genuine concern.

This left Kushina feeling stifled with anger.

"Shirou!"

Although her little tiger fangs were on full display, and she seemed fierce, for some reason, when she looked at Shirou's honest and teasing eyes, her heart felt a little sweet.

She had seen it all.

She knew very well what had happened.

Thinking of this, Kushina's face flushed as she shot another glare at Shirou.

Stubborn, arrogant Uchiha!

You say it's fake, but why did you rush to call for so many Uchiha police force members?

Doesn't that indirectly show you care?

This was something Namikaze Minato hadn't figured out, but Uchiha Shirou had.

With a glance at Minato, Shirou revealed a playful grin.

Namikaze Minato, you have sincerity. But I, Uchiha Shirou, have sincerity as well. Especially when it comes to beauty and potential stocks.

Since ancient times, the best way to win someone's heart was with genuine sincerity.

Shirou believed in both strategy and genuine emotion.

"Shirou-kun!"

Uchiha Fugaku approached with a serious expression, and Shirou just smiled and shrugged.

"Captain Fugaku, no need to worry. I noticed a comrade being kidnapped, so I called in the police force. That's not unreasonable, right? Plus, I already had someone notify the Hokage."

Uchiha Fugaku was stunned. His head was still in a mess, recognizing something was off but unsure of the specifics.

Just then, distant flickers of black shadows jumped through the forest.

Seeing this, Fugaku's mouth twitched in frustration.

This had become a full-blown incident.

Sure enough, a large group of Konoha ninjas rushed through the forest.

The sheer number — over a hundred — made it look like they were launching a local war.

"Let's go. It's time to head back to the village."

In the forest, the Anbu and Uchiha police forces stood on opposite sides, clearly divided.

The Anbu blamed the Uchiha police for disrupting their mission.

Meanwhile, the Uchiha police were enraged at the Anbu for not trusting them, which only deepened their resentment.

Shirou squinted as he watched the scene.

Unlike Fugaku, who felt uneasy, Shirou thought,

It's not the Uchiha who should be worried now — it's the Hokage.

During times of war, this blatant display of distrust would force the Hokage to give the Uchiha an explanation.

"What? Don't feel like leaving?"

Shirou turned to look at Kushina, who had a conflicted expression.

He smiled and teased,

"How about I carry you back?"

With a sly grin, he held his arms out as if preparing for a princess carry.

Kushina's eyes filled with panic, and she quickly shouted,

"Uchiha Shirou, just you wait! I'm going to tell Sister Mikoto about this!"

Her little tiger-fanged face was all bluff, clearly flustered.

"Kushina, be careful!"

As she ran toward the village, Minato called out to her.

Under the moonlight, that flash of red didn't look back.

The blond-haired Minato scratched his head in confusion.
