Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Upheaval in the Shinobi World
Just then—
Inside the Lava Release defense you had raised, a figure suddenly appeared.
It was Danzo, resurrected behind you through Izanagi, wielding a Wind Release-enhanced weapon, attempting a sneak attack. But he had no idea that your physical constitution was no longer that of a mere Uchiha. Every shift in the wind or rustle of grass around you was as clear as day—let alone a living person suddenly appearing out of nowhere.
You clamped your hand directly onto Danzo's face. Still dazed from resurrection, he was instantly engulfed in lava, reduced to a charred skeleton in seconds.
Elsewhere, the Iron Sand defense you had conjured with Magnet Release was beginning to collapse under the unrelenting assault of the Fourth Kazekage.
You glanced skyward—three fire dragons of differing colors burst out from behind you, intertwining until they became indistinguishable, forming a blinding pillar of light that struck directly into the golden sand tsunami pouring through the breach.
It exploded with a thunderous roar. The blazing flames were no less intense than Jiraiya's Fire Release, even when amplified by toad oil.
In the blink of an eye, both your Iron Sand and the Fourth Kazekage's Gold Dust were melted into molten liquid.
The two substances merged, rendering Magnet Release completely ineffective. In an instant, the sky was filled with a rain of molten lava—a sea of liquid fire falling toward the ground.
As the Fourth Kazekage let out a roar of fury, you casually cut down Danzo two more times.
But at that moment, a strange, powerful, and familiar presence was rapidly rising.
"Natural energy—Sage Mode!"
You quickly turned your head to look at Jiraiya, who had been trapped in the sea of lava.
There, amid the molten ocean, stood Jiraiya. The toad Fukasaku lay motionless at his feet. Jiraiya wiped away two streams of blood-tears and rose calmly to his feet. His aura had reached its absolute peak.
"Reverse Four Symbols Sealing!"
Turning around again, you saw Danzo rip open his shirt, revealing Four Symbols Sealing marks etched across his torso. Without hesitation, he activated the ultimate sealing technique that cost him his life.
One pseudo-death using a Sharingan—and thereby gaining the highest prestige possible within Konoha. From his perspective, the trade was more than worth it.
You shook your head.
"Getting serious now? Forget it—I've got other business to take care of. I won't play with you anymore."
Then, you linked your mind to Boss Black Cat and gave the order to activate the Reverse Summoning Technique and get you out of there...
...
What was left behind at the scene:
Jiraiya, who had sacrificed Fukasaku to resist the Lava Release and entered Sage Mode.
The Fourth Kazekage, whose Gold Dust had fused with molten scrap metal—losing both face and fortune.
Danzo, who had lost an arm, his Sharingan watch, and all his hidden trump cards.
And half of Konoha, now submerged in a mixture of lava and molten iron.
The Third Hokage was dead.
He had already died before Tsunade broke the Four Violet Flames Formation and dealt with the crippled Orochimaru.
His death was identical to Naruto's—his body intact, but his soul completely gone.
Fortunately, if Orochimaru were willing to let go of past grudges, he might still be able to extract both the Third Hokage's soul and his own arms from the Shinigami's belly—setting the stage for another Edo Tensei.
But Naruto... he was truly, completely dead. His soul had been utterly obliterated.
...
On the other side of Konoha, in a battlefield that hadn't been part of the plan—
Might Guy helped Kakashi to his feet. Kakashi had been gravely wounded and lost his Kamui Sharingan. Limping through a field strewn with puppet remains and patches of black Iron Sand, they slowly made their way back to the village...
...
Elsewhere, you were teleported by Boss Black Cat to a small town near the border between the Land of Fire and the desert.
You hadn't expected the teleport to send you so far—an entire day's journey ahead of schedule. But that was a good thing. The farther you were from danger, the safer you'd be.
After entering the desert, as your power continued to grow, your sense of safety only deepened.
However, your bloodline was also becoming more active. The fusion between the Uzumaki and Uchiha bloodlines was accelerating, and you could feel your life force and Ocular Power skyrocketing at an astonishing rate.
At this pace of rapid growth, the influx of new powers was becoming difficult to manage. Their internal clashes were sending shockwaves through your body.
Though Shukaku had been sealed with the Four Symbols Sealing, the Magnet Release you had forcibly activated earlier using the Sharingan had left traces within you, and Shukaku was now stirring again.
You temporarily relinquished Magnet Release and used three Adamantine Chains to tightly restrain Shukaku once more.
On another front, half of the Yang Nine-Tails seemed to have been inadvertently injured by the prototype Divine Tool when you killed Naruto. It wasn't going berserk, but its Yang Release output had become unstable.
Sometimes strong, sometimes weak—it was wreaking havoc on your efforts to fuse with the Uzumaki bloodline. Your body felt like a storm-tossed ocean.
You had no choice but to limit the output, and temporarily store the excess Yang Release chakra in your other eye using a Transcription Seal. Only then did things finally stabilize.
Once your chakra settled, you rushed back to Iwagakure.
Ōnoki, upon hearing what had happened, immediately decided to hide you in the mountains behind the village and focus on helping you channel your overwhelming power.
During your absence, the Four-Tails Jinchuriki, Roshi, had finally been located by your newly-formed intelligence network.
Out of good will, Ōnoki—setting past grievances aside—specially invited Roshi to teach you how to control Tailed Beast chakra. But to everyone's dismay, the two of you couldn't find any common ground.
Roshi, the village's strongest living weapon, was completely unaware of his own role. His mind was filled with delusions of peace and ideals that neither you—aiming to become the strongest in the world—nor Ōnoki—who sought to unify the shinobi world—could relate to.
And so, the pre-seclusion meeting ended in total disappointment.
...
〖Year Seven〗
With Konoha breached and over half its Jonin dead, the next generation of ninja was left crippled. Only Jiraiya and Tsunade remained to hold the reins of power.
Meanwhile, Danzo kept using public opinion to polish his image. Alongside Konoha's two meddling advisors, and the influx of new residents filling the population void...
Konoha now appeared to be holding strong with three Kage-level figures, but beneath the surface, a rift was forming. Two factions were beginning to take shape.
On top of that, there were unresolved debts between Konoha and Sunagakure.
In terms of hatred, the Konoha Crush plan had been spearheaded by the Fourth Kazekage.
In terms of losses, both villages had lost their Jinchuriki—and all because of you.
With Gaara gone, Sunagakure still had Rasa as a pillar—but the talent pool had been completely drained. They didn't even dare send their Kage-level fighters beyond the village walls.
Otherwise, the already skeptical Daimyō of the Land of Wind might join forces with nearby minor villages and overthrow the village entirely.
Faced with such survival pressures, Konoha and Sunagakure were forced to form a strained and awkward alliance once more.
Ōnoki, ever astute, seized the opportunity—recruiting defectors from both villages and rapidly expanding Iwagakure's military strength.
He used this to strong-arm the Daimyō of the Land of Earth into giving him full command over the nation's massive shinobi army and key territories. It was the beginning of military-political unification.
Iwagakure then extended its influence into markets and merchant caravans—quickly dominating domestic and even international trade with its unmatched shinobi productivity. Especially in markets left empty by the war-torn Land of Wind and Land of Fire.
At this rate, it wouldn't be long before the Land of Earth was fully unified—and when that day came, it would very likely rise as the strongest nation in the shinobi world.
...
Elsewhere, Kumogakure shamelessly capitalized on the chaos.
Shortly after the war ended, the Fourth Raikage personally led a diplomatic visit to Konoha—offering aid to Danzo's faction, while siphoning off a massive amount of resources from the already struggling village.
Kirigakure, while quiet on the surface, was rumored to be forming a wartime alliance with Kumogakure...
And just like that, the balance of power among the Five Great Shinobi Villages began to shift.
A massive upheaval, one that would engulf the entire shinobi world, was teetering on the brink of eruption!
