Chapter 143: Chapter 143: The Sage’s Proposal

Hearing the words of the Sage of Six Paths, Shin's mind filled with realizations.

For instance, the Sage of Six Paths spread chakra worldwide, claiming it would connect people's hearts. Yet, chakra is essentially a form of energy, something brought to Earth by the Otsutsuki clan. Did the Sage really not know how humans would use chakra once they possessed it?

And what about his two sons and the conflicts among their clans? Why do Asura and Indra continue to reincarnate, each time inevitably clashing? Is it really just because of Black Zetsu's manipulations?

Even if Black Zetsu played a role in instigating these conflicts, the very principle of reincarnation points directly to the Sage of Six Paths, who oversees the Pure Land.

Initially, Shin had thought the Sage was perhaps just lenient with his descendants. Now, he understood that the two brothers were actually part of a calculated strategy.

Even Kaguya Otsutsuki's release from confinement might have been subtly allowed—or even planned—to remind the world, urging people to set aside internal conflicts and prepare to confront the celestial threats.

The mention of the Pure Land, a concept so casually mentioned by the Sage, was telling. Clearly, it's where he amasses his strength. For example, during the final battle, the Sage easily summoned the spirits of the past Kage from the Pure Land. Shin realized that the Sage had long been gathering every ninjutsu developed in the world, allowing it all to flow toward him as he controlled the Pure Land.

Shin couldn't help but think, 'This man is indeed the ancestor of Asura and Indra—a true master strategist.'

"No, it's not simply that he's calculating," Shin mused. "Rather, this man has achieved a transcendent perspective."

'Heaven and earth are impartial, treating all as mere entities,' Shin thought. In the Sage's eyes, it seemed only the world's survival mattered. The fate of individuals, even his own descendants, was of little concern.

The endless years of conflict in the ninja world were, in truth, the cost of the Sage's ambition to mold soldiers for the inevitable battles to come.

Having pieced this together, Shin now understood why the Sage of Six Paths had come to him.

As the Sage explained, Shin now possessed the ability to advance the entire ninja civilization, and thus, he had become a player in the cosmic game. Naturally, the Sage would want to meet this new contender.

As for Shin's previous concern—that the Sage might try to seize control of the virtual space—it seemed unlikely. The virtual space was crafted not just from ninjutsu but also from technology.

In such a scenario, if the Sage did attempt to take it over, Shin could still threaten to dismantle the virtual space entirely, creating a stalemate.

"So, what brings you here, Sage?" Shin asked, now more at ease though bemused by the intricate game the world had become.

No wonder the Sage had seemed to overlook Obito, even when he possessed the Rinnegan and commanded the Gedo Statue. It turns out the Sage had always held the true control over Kaguya's seal.

It was possible that every move Black Zetsu had made was within the Sage's plan all along. After all, the Sage controlled the Pure Land, which likely granted him insight into the memories and knowledge of all who had passed on.

The Sage of Six Paths gave a knowing smile. "I am quite interested in your virtual space. I wonder if I can integrate the Pure Land within it."

"Integrate the Pure Land," Shin was momentarily surprised but quickly understood. "Do you mean allowing deceased ninjas to enter the virtual space as well?"

"Precisely. Leaving them dormant seems wasteful. I believe they would be more inclined to exist within the virtual space."

Even the dead had roles to play! Shin couldn't help but glance at the Sage, thinking, 'You're truly a master of efficient resource management.'

Though, he liked the idea.

The spirits of these ninjas, preserved by the Sage, spanned nearly a thousand years. How many of them possessed rare talent? The thought of such minds contributing to the virtual space excited Shin.

Once within the virtual space, their knowledge would be automatically archived, benefiting Shin in the long run. And their presence would boost the legitimacy of the virtual space. After all, if even their ancestors resided within, what reason would the living have to resist it?

Of course, the Sage of Six Paths would also gain something—more access to knowledge and power from the virtual space. It was indeed a mutually beneficial arrangement.

"Allowing the souls to join is possible, but how will you connect the Pure Land to the virtual space?"

The Sage pondered briefly. "The Pure Land is a semi-real, semi-illusory dimension that I created. In essence, it is an expansive illusion clone that exists worldwide."

Shin was amazed. Crafting an illusion clone at a global scale, even a rudimentary one, was a feat beyond ordinary ninjutsu.

Given this, it shouldn't be difficult to transfer these spirits.

"Then perhaps we could construct a Tenseigan-powered transmission device, maybe a mirror that could act as a moon, that could link the Pure Land to the virtual space," Shin suggested after a moment's thought.

"A mirror, yes—an excellent idea!" The Sage's eyes brightened with approval.

"Crafting tools is something of a specialty of mine," the Sage added. "I'll handle the creation of this mirror."

Shin nodded, impressed. Judging from the legendary tools made by the Sage, it was clear he relished creating powerful artifacts.
