Naruto: Forbidden Arts and an Immortal Agenda

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Going Out for Some Air

Sunlight slipped through the window frame as time crawled by painfully within the courtyard walls.

Aozora had remained immersed in cultivation there for two weeks straight.

Today, his closed eyes finally opened, a beautiful curve forming on his lips.

[Contract Complete]!

Within his Spiritual Sea, an invisible thread connected his main soul to his Soul Division. The thread gradually faded from sight, yet Aozora could still perceive everything about his divided soul.

He guided his spiritual energy through that delicate link, sensing the vibrant, youthful essence of his Soul Division—as if opening an entirely new eye.

Through the perspective of his Soul Division, Aozora beheld swirling clouds of pure spiritual essence, ancient pages suspended high in the sky, and above all, the warm glow of his main soul radiating like morning sunlight.

Testing things out, Aozora began issuing commands to his Soul Division.

"Up!"

The division moved upward.

"Down!"

It descended.

"Left!"

...

As if discovering a fun new toy, Aozora kept firing off different commands at his Soul Division.

Excited beyond measure, he experimented with his Soul Division until its radiant glow flickered and faded, finally stopping.

After calming and nourishing his spiritual essence for a while, he pushed open the tightly sealed door he had kept shut for a week.

Stepping outside, the view beyond the threshold made him feel as if the sky had expanded and the world broadened, filled with birdsong and fragrant blossoms.

Strolling through the New Compound, breathing in fresh air, Aozora felt his once-rusted body gradually awaken.

Cultivation requires both discipline and release — after all, a week of physical training was nothing unusual for him. But carefully carving away at his spirit for seven days had left his mind stretched taut like a drawn bowstring, needing release.

Walking into town, Aozora didn't look for staple foods but instead wandered through the snack street.

Whichever snack caught his eye or pastry looked tempting, he snatched it up without a second thought.

His metabolism burned off everything effortlessly, so he happily let himself go.

Satisfied with his meal, instead of returning to the compound, Aozora set his sights on Training Ground 11.

After staying cooped up for so long, he felt his body had gone lax.

During the Reconstruction and Revitalization Plan meeting, Hiruzen Sarutobi mentioned that the Uchiha enjoyed training, so as compensation, Training Ground 11 had been allocated exclusively for Uchiha usage.

Actually, though, the Uchiha aren't necessarily fond of training—they simply have nothing else to do besides train.

Konoha is among the safest cities in the Ninja World, leaving the Police Force with little serious work to do.

Moreover, unlike the previous world full of smartphones and computers, entertainment options here are limited. Therefore, sparring matches and watching others at training grounds became major pastimes for Uchiha clan members.

Aozora felt restless today and planned to visit the training ground too.

Training Ground 11 indeed lay close to the New Compound, resting atop a densely wooded hill near Nanaha River's bank.

Following Uchiha renovations, the entire site had been divided into five areas—one combat training zone, two throwing practice zones, and two ninjutsu training sections.

Since fire-based techniques dominated the Uchiha repertoire, the ninjutsu practice areas were located at the riverside base of the hill. Throwing practice occurred where dense woods offered challenging throws, helping improve accuracy skills.

Meanwhile, the most popular combat training area occupied the hilltop.

Aozora climbed to the mountaintop and found eight earthen ring platforms built on the gentle slopes. Crowds of Uchiha clan members had gathered around each platform, eager for excitement.

Above, fists flew and legs kicked in intense combat, creating a fiery atmosphere; below, cheers erupted like thunder.

Surrounded by the electrifying energy, Aozora felt like he'd stepped into a real-life martial arts tournament.

He glanced around before heading toward the most packed arena.

Stepping closer, his mouth slightly parted in surprise as a flicker of astonishment crossed his eyes—he recognized someone on stage.

"What's going on with kids these days? How old are they exactly, yet already so skilled at taijutsu!"

"Now that's some serious talent. After all, that's the clan head's son."

"Ah, watching these young ones makes me feel like I've wasted my past decade."

"..."

Legs clashed and bodies darted fast—two teens were throwing moves way beyond their age.

Both had clearly received professional training. Their ninjutsu movements were precise, and their attacks and defenses followed clear patterns, showing discipline.

Aozora could tell that although the two seemed evenly matched, Itachi had gradually gained the upper hand.

Firstly, compared to his opponent, Itachi's taijutsu showed greater flexibility. He was no longer bound by standard forms, instead incorporating his own creative ideas. This was precisely why, despite having shorter arms and less strength, he could still exchange blows evenly.

Secondly, whether out of fear of losing or some other reason, his opponent had already lost his composure.

The more you fear losing, the more likely you are to lose.

Finally, the older boy hesitated just half a beat due to emotional instability, giving Itachi the chance to seize victory with one decisive move.

Uchiha clan members surrounding the platform marveled loudly, praising another genius from the Uchiha.

"Incredible! If only my son had even half of Itachi's talent!"

"You wish! That's the clan head's son we're talking about!"

"No wonder he's the eldest son of the clan head. At just six years old, he's already this strong."

"A blessing for our Uchiha clan. He might become another Shisui-level prodigy."

"Don't mention Shisui. He left the Police Force trying to advance further—he was a traitor."

"What's wrong with wanting advancement? Shisui never did anything against the clan. Have you forgotten how he looked out for you back when you worked in the Police Force?"

"...".

Amidst the clamor of praise and debate, Itachi stepped forward to help his defeated opponent up, whispering something into his ear. Moments later, the boy walked away with a gloomy expression.

Observing Itachi's actions, Aozora felt deeply curious. After all, in his understanding, Itachi wasn't someone who enjoyed seeking attention.

As Itachi leapt off the platform, Aozora actively waved and greeted him.

Itachi approached, saying, "Brother Aozora, why are you out here? I originally wanted to find you, but I saw the sign on your door..."

"I was practicing a secret jutsu indoors," Aozora replied.

Though somewhat curious inside, the well-mannered Itachi refrained from asking further questions.

Aozora quickly shifted past the topic of cultivation and asked, "What really happened between you and that boy? Do you have any feud?"

Itachi immediately shook his head. "No!"

"Jumao has been acting too arrogantly lately. He bullies other students at the Ninja Academy, damaging the reputation of our Uchiha. I tried reasoning with him, but he refused to listen."

"So you used force to teach him a lesson?"

"No! I simply wanted to show him there's always someone stronger. Those who bully others today will be bullied tomorrow."

Aozora thought back to his last training report. "So this is how you think our clan members should let go of their pride?"

Itachi remained silent, but Aozora could see the unyielding resolve in his eyes.

Sighing, Aozora asked, "You ever wonder why the Uchiha act so tough at the Ninja Academy?"

"It's about the clan's honor and pride?" Itachi replied cautiously.

"Yes, but also no."

Aozora pointed at some nearby clan members and said, "Tell me what you see in them."

Itachi studied them closely for a moment before replying, "Pride and aggressiveness."

Shaking his head, Aozora said, "That's just scratching the surface. Look again!"

Itachi continued observing for a long time, yet still found no answer.

Sighing with disappointment, Aozora finally said, "Itachi, you don't see things from their level. Haven't you noticed their pent-up energy? Don't you feel their frustration from having strength without anywhere to use it?"

"They seek opportunities to prove their worth through missions and battle, yet such chances rarely come. Unless there's a war emergency, Konoha rarely calls upon the Police Force."

"Since the formation of the Police Force, the Uchiha have earned no new honors."

"They take pride in being part of the Uchiha Clan, yet they find themselves with no place to truly shine."

"That's why they place such heavy emphasis on their children's performance at the Ninja Academy, pushing them to be number one as proof that the Uchiha's honor still burns bright."
