Chapter 134: Chapter 132: Scheme and Seize

Chapter 132: Scheme and Seize

After summarizing his gains from the past year, Baishi began contemplating his next steps for evolution.

---

First, Chakra Affinity could take a backseat for now.

Currently, his chakra affinity for all five elements had reached Level VII, far exceeding that of the average ninja. It was sufficient for the time being.

His next focus would be mastering the form and nature transformation of each element, thereby enhancing his control over the corresponding elemental chakra.

Once he had achieved sufficient control, he could attempt to merge different chakra elements to create Kekkei Genkai or even Kekkei Tota.

One goal remained prominent in his mind—acquiring the power of Dust Release.

However, while Chakra Affinity could pause, the same could not be said for Energy Absorption Skin and Mental Resistance.

Energy Absorption Skin was critical for improving his overall evolution speed, and he couldn't afford to halt its progression.

Mental Resistance, on the other hand, was the cornerstone of preserving his willpower and individuality—it deserved the highest priority.

Beyond these, Rebirth also required continuous development.

If Mental Resistance guaranteed the freedom of his mind, then Rebirth ensured the safety of his physical body.

Even though its advancement had grown increasingly challenging, every improvement added another layer of security, minimizing the cost of recovery in dire situations.

For example, his Rebirth: Limb Regeneration had already reached 25.5% completion. If he were to lose his arm again, he wouldn't need to sacrifice a year of his lifespan to restore it. A simple activation of the ability and some chakra consumption would suffice.

This unique aspect of Rebirth—reducing recovery costs as its progress advanced—was too valuable to neglect.

Additional Targets

Five Sense Enhancement: Once this broke past its current limits, his sensory abilities would reach a new level, potentially eliminating the need for Byakugan to unlock his chakra nodes.

Spatial Awareness Enhancement: This had multiple uses:

Increasing his maneuverability with Flying Thunder God.

Preparing for the eventual creation of a storage ring.

To craft such a ring, he needed the ability to sense Flying Thunder God marks across dimensional boundaries. While he didn't know a shortcut to achieve this, his slow and steady approach was bound to succeed eventually.

With his plans set, Baishi took a moment to eat, filling his stomach before resuming his evolution schedule.

Six Months Later

Morning arrived in the Land of Earth.

In a small town near Iwagakure, Baishi strolled through the streets, observing the stone-based architecture lining either side. The sight felt somewhat foreign to him.

In the Land of Fire, most buildings were made of wood. Here, stone was the dominant material.

The reasoning wasn't hard to deduce:

The Land of Fire, with its temperate climate, abundant sunlight, and rich timber resources, naturally favored the use of affordable wood.

The Land of Earth, on the other hand, was riddled with barren rock faces. The occasional "rock rain"—a natural disaster caused by strong winds—made stone construction a necessity for safety.

Yet Baishi hadn't come here for sightseeing or cultural studies.

---

Baishi's purpose in approaching Iwagakure was singular: to acquire Dust Release.

For the past six months, he had been diligently working on improving his control over various chakra elements, all to unlock this rare ability.

However, the difficulty of merging three chakra natures exceeded his expectations.

Despite mastering the form and nature transformations for wind, fire, and earth, he was still a step away from creating Dust Release.

This wasn't to say it was impossible for him, but it was incredibly time-consuming.

At his current pace, Baishi estimated it would take at least two years to achieve success—a timeline he found unacceptable.

Thus, his sights shifted to Iwagakure.

The Third Tsuchikage, Onoki, had not inherited Dust Release through bloodline but had learned it directly from the Second Tsuchikage, Mu.

This indicated that Iwagakure likely possessed records or instructions on how to train for Dust Release—much like Konoha's Scroll of Seals or other secret repositories.

---

In addition to Dust Release, Baishi was also interested in some of Iwagakure's signature earth-style jutsu, such as the Lightened Boulder Technique.

Previously, he had considered finding a flying technique to complement Flying Thunder God, which lacked flexibility over longer distances. This trip was the perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

That said, Baishi had no intention of acting directly.

The hidden strength of a major village like Iwagakure could not be underestimated, and Onoki's Dust Release posed a significant threat. Alerting them prematurely would only complicate matters.

Moreover, there was no need for him to risk exposing himself unnecessarily.

---

As Baishi contemplated his approach, he arrived at a small inn. Looking up, he confirmed the sign above the door: Zimu Inn.

"This is the place," he murmured, stepping inside.

Behind the counter, the innkeeper looked up at the new guest. He opened his mouth to greet Baishi, but before he could speak, a faint light shimmered on the ring Baishi wore on his right hand.

The innkeeper's expression went blank for a brief moment, then quickly shifted to one of familiarity. "Ah, welcome back, sir!"

Baishi nodded silently and ascended the stairs to the second floor.

As he moved out of sight, the innkeeper scratched his head, muttering to himself, "When did that guest leave? I don't remember him checking out..."

Hearing this, Baishi smiled faintly but said nothing. "This Illusion Ring is proving to be quite convenient," he thought.

Reaching the door of his room, he confirmed the number and pushed it open. Inside, a man was already waiting.

---

"Master!"

The man, Kuki Ichiro, immediately stood and bowed upon seeing Baishi enter.

Yes, it was none other than Kuki Ichiro.

In fact, a few days prior, Baishi had dispatched Ichiro to this location. Accompanying him were a dozen or so pirates.

Over the years, aided by the Third-Generation Life Seed, these men had all gradually achieved Chunin-level strength.

Of course, such strength was insignificant in the face of a behemoth like Iwagakure, and Baishi didn't expect them to handle the main task.

Instead, their role was to gather intelligence on Iwagakure's periphery and provide support where needed.

---

"Before anything else, let's find out what's been happening in the ninja world over the past year," Baishi thought.

Placing a hand on Kuki Ichiro's head, he activated a Yamanaka clan secret technique: Mind Reading Jutsu.

While verbal reports had their merits, Baishi found it far more efficient to extract information directly from memories.
