Naruto: Eating A Devil Fruit In The World Of Shinobi

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Kaito's Retaliation.

The roar of thunder exploded in the sky, shaking all of Konoha!

The once-empty ground suddenly began to crack, expanding outward in every direction. In the blink of an eye, a kilometer-wide area had collapsed into rubble.

Dense, red lightning, surging with heart-pounding power, rained down like a flood!

Root members who couldn't dodge in time were instantly swallowed by the red lightning—reduced to charred corpses.

Chaos erupted within Root headquarters.

In mid-air, Kaito hovered, calmly surveying the destruction below. "It's your turn," he said coldly.

"Clear!"

Four shadow clones hurled massive Rasengan infused with wind and lightning nature into the underground facility without hesitation.

Deep below, in the Root base, Danzo's face twisted—from red, to blue, then purple with rage. He laughed, though it was filled with madness.

"Fine! Fine! I swear I'll kill you! I'll kill you!"

By the time he shouted the last words, Danzo's eyes had turned blood red.

"Damn it! Get Danzo-sama out of here!"

A yamanaka root member grabbed Danzo and pulled him to the side, sensing that four more S-rank jutsu were descending from above.

But red lightning flickered everywhere—there was no safe place to hide!

He had no choice but to yell, "All Earth Release users, put up defenses! Now!"

"Earth Style: Earth Wall!"

"Earth Style: Fortress Wall!"

One after another, the Root ninja unleashed their most powerful Earth-style jutsu. Even Yamanaka Feng joined in.

One layer, then another, and another—several thick barriers of earth rose to protect Danzo at the center.

"I'll kill him! I will!" Danzo roared again, eyes wild with fury like a cornered beast. His entire life's work was crumbling before him.

BOOM! BOOM!

Before Danzo could finish ranting, the four massive Rasengan—charged with both wind and lightning—slammed down from above.

The roar of the impact was deafening.

The wind-infused Rasengan was sharp enough to shred steel.

The lightning variant crackled with raw, destructive force.

Together, they weren't just an addition of powers—they were devastation incarnate.

The entire Root facility was enveloped by the violent storm unleashed by the four Rasengan.

Even the few who survived the initial onslaught were now reduced to scorched corpses.

The Earth-style defenses erected by Danzo and the others shattered under the pressure—obliterated by the combined force.

Aside from a few high-ranking Root officers, every single operative was wiped out in a matter of seconds.

At that moment, red lightning snakes pierced downward, flooding through every corridor of the Root base. Only the areas near Danzo and a handful of survivors remained untouched.

From above, the facility now looked like a pit of hell—flashing with red lightning like a living abyss.

High in the sky...

Kaito stood, a beam of crimson lightning gathered in his hand. He watched the scene below with narrowed eyes.

"He's still alive? Tch... Figures. Good people die young—scum like him live forever."

"But," Kaito smirked, "that ends now."

The full moon overhead was completely obscured by black clouds. Within them, flashes of lightning danced, thunder growling constantly.

With a wave of his hand, Kaito called down bolts of lightning—each as thick as a tree trunk.

They crashed down from the sky, one after another, too many to count.

[Lightning Release: Thunder Prison!]

Not far away, a large group of Konoha shinobi arrived, coming into Kaito's view.

At the head of the group was none other than Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Behind him, the village's elite jonin watched the scene with grim expressions.

Hiruzen's heart sank as he looked at the devastation. This level of destruction was beyond even his peak.

"Danzo... I'm afraid you won't escape death this time," he muttered with a heavy sigh, a trace of sorrow in his voice.

Even back when he was younger, this much power would've been difficult to endure. Now, thunder still raged above with no sign of stopping.

His old comrade was likely already dead. The realization hit him like a weight.

"Hokage-sama, should we intervene?" one of the jonin asked.

The moment the words were spoken, every shinobi turned toward him with disbelief.

Did this guy really not recognize the red lightning?

Hadn't they seen this just yesterday?

Who else could it be but Kaito?

Among them, the most conflicted were Yamanaka Inoichi, Kakashi, and Hyuga Hiashi.

None of them had expected Kaito to wield such terrifying strength. With power like this, unless Jiraiya-sama intervened personally, no one could stop him from doing whatever he wanted in Konoha.

(Is it just me, or is Jiraiya weak af)

"Sigh… You shouldn't have killed Danzo," Hiruzen murmured. "I thought you were calm and composed—unlike your teacher. But I was wrong."

"A dragon has a reverse scale. Whoever touches it... dies," Kaito said coldly. "That old bastard Danzo dared to lay a hand on Hinata and Ino. He needed to pay for it."

As he spoke, Kaito slowly removed the mask covering his face, revealing a handsome, pale face beneath.

He knew his red lightning was unique—a bloodline limit many had witnessed recently. He had wanted to destroy Root before anyone could show up.

Unfortunately, Danzo was like a cockroach—hard to kill—and now Hiruzen and the others had arrived.

When the mask fell, everyone gasped.
