Naruto: Chakra System

"First, the main thing needed for using this technique is good chakra control," Kakashi explained. "A ninja needs understanding of chakra, able to gather and mold chakra within their bodies efficiently, and learning to circulate chakra flow throughout their body to use this Jutsu properly."

Sakura asked, with realization, "Oh, so that's why you had all of us learn chakra control exercises, Tree Walking and Water Walking?"

Kakashi nodded. "Yeah, that too, but chakra control is important for everything, let it be Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, even Taijutsu, and other ninja arts."

"As I told you before, without good chakra control, a ninja will waste a lot of chakra unnecessarily, rapidly exhausted in fights, and their used techniques would be weakened and unstable with poor aim and manipulation."

When he explained this, Kaguya Otsutsuki's image came into his mind immediately; she had vast chakra, countless powerful techniques, yet she still lost in the end, all because she didn't have much control over her powers and less real combat experience.

Kakashi then explained further, "And Body Flicker Technique requires a significant amount of chakra when used. If your chakra control isn't good, then you will just waste your chakra. So, let's start and first, everyone moves back and makes a considerable distance from each other."

Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke nodded and moved back a few meters away from their position and made a good distance among themselves.

Kakashi then said, "Hand seals for this Jutsu are simple, just Tiger and Ram, and you have to focus your chakra towards your legs mostly towards foots, directly flow it there for a surge of supercharged distribution of chakra."

"And once that's done, release that explosion chakra, and with a sudden burst, move to the desired distance around you, understood, then try it out."

With that, all three of them made hand signs, focused concentrated chakra, and with ease, they disappeared and flickered to some distance back.

Kakashi smiled that they learned it on the first try, but when he saw them clearly, aside from Naruto, both Sakura and Sasuke were little huffing; obviously, despite being a D-rank Jutsu, the chakra cost was still high, especially when the distance was longer and repeatedly used, while they used it the first time, their control over it was still lacking.

Kakashi clapped his hands. "Well done," he said. "For the next few days, you will be mostly practicing this, even while doing missions, and remember one thing. This technique is primarily for evasion and retreat. Unless you're skilled in it, don't try to use it for combat purposes."

They nodded, and Kakashi glanced at Sasuke. "Sasuke, were you able to see your surroundings, and does you two as well?" he asked.

They all looked at each other and shook their heads; they couldn't perceive their surroundings properly, only with a little blur.

"For combat purposes, keen perception is needed, and Sasuke, if you activate your Sharingan while using Body Flicker, you would be able to use it for combat as well," Kakashi said.

Sasuke nodded in understanding, and with that, Kakashi let them practice it for the remaining day.

Once the day was over, evening descended upon Konoha; they all moved back to their own ways, but Kakashi called Sasuke and took him to stone craved Hokage mountain; he decided to test out one thing on Sasuke.

"What is it, Kakashi-sensei?" Sasuke asked. "Is there something you need me for?"

"Sasuke, do you know how Sharingan is awakened and later evolved?" Kakashi asked.

Sasuke was dumbfounded by the sudden question. "I... I don't exactly know how to awaken it, but... I think it's about Ha... Hatred!" he stammered.

Kakashi sighed; he thought he should clear a few things for Sasuke, or else in the future he would do and repeat the same things as canon.

"Listen, Sasuke," he said, "The way to awaken a Sharingan for an Uchiha is often done from negative emotions, like stress, despair, loss, and hatred, and I'm sure what Itachi has told you, he must have told you to hate him, detest him, so you can also have eyes like his, correct?"

Though he asked, Kakashi actually knew this, since he literally spoke the same dialogues as Itachi, and hearing this, Sasuke clenched his fist, gritted his teeth, and unconsciously activated his Sharingan, upon remembering Itachi and his last words of that night.

Kakashi gently put his hands on his head. "Listen, Sasuke, Itachi is evil, and you know that, right?" he said. "What he said about hatred is correct to evolve Sharingan, but he didn't do that for your own good; he tried to manipulate you."

Sasuke tried to suppress his emotions a little, deactivated his Sharingan, and asked, "What are you exactly trying to say? Are you saying that Itachi was correct about some things or not?"

Kakashi said, "He killed his family and clan, and didn't even care about you, why would such a person think about your own good? And about evolving Sharingan with hatred, actually, this is all called 'Curse of Hatred' because usually Sharingan is activated from witnessing loss and grief, like when you saw your parents dead, you awakened your Sharingan, right?"

Anger was bubbling inside Sasuke; just remembering that night completely changed Sasuke's mood to immense anger, but he still chose to listen to what Kakashi had to say. He understood that Kakashi knew more about it than he did; after all, Kakashi also had a Sharingan and Itachi used to be Kakashi's junior.

Kakashi then said, "However, Sharingan can also be triggered by intense positive emotions as well, like a strong desire to protect your loved one."

This time, Sasuke couldn't stop himself and asked, "But, what exactly have you called me here for, and what are you telling me all this for?"

Kakashi stated, "I want to tell you one thing... Don't waste your whole life on revenge. On the introduction day, you said you want to create back your Clan again, and want to kill Itachi, and that's your dream, right?"

"But, are they really your dream. Believe me, don't waste your life on revenge and burdens that your brother Itachi put you in. You aren't obliged to take unnecessary burdens on you."
