Naruto: Blind Uchiha

Chapter 6: Chapter 5: Teaching

"Really?" Izuna paused his chakra refining, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "Then teach me more, brother! That Lightning Release technique you used before was so cool! Teach me that, please!"

Kiyoshi shook his head, smiling faintly. "That's not going to work."

"Why not, brother? I already tested my chakra nature, and I have the lightning attribute. I can learn it!"

Kiyoshi could almost picture his younger brother's disappointed expression before he even spoke. Amused but also feeling a twinge of regret, he softened his tone. "It's not that I don't want to teach you, Izuna. It's that you're not ready to learn it just yet."

Izuna tilted his head, his curiosity piqued. "Why not? What's the difference? Why can't I learn it?"

Kiyoshi gently tapped Izuna's forehead with two fingers, his voice calm and patient. "You know chakra is divided into five basic natures: Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, and Lightning. To learn a jutsu of a specific nature, your chakra must be attuned to that element. But that's not the only issue."

He smiled faintly and continued. "Lightning Release techniques require a lot of chakra and put significant strain on the body. Your current chakra reserves aren't enough to use it effectively."

Izuna absorbed the explanation quietly, his disappointment evident but restrained. Instead of sulking, he shifted the conversation. "Then how much chakra do I need to learn that super cool jutsu?"

"For safety's sake? Your chakra capacity would need to increase by at least twenty times," Kiyoshi said thoughtfully. "You'd also need to master elemental manipulation, quick hand seals, and improve your physical strength. Lightning techniques require strong bodies to handle the strain, especially the ones I developed for myself. If someone else tried to use them, the requirements would be even stricter."

Izuna's eyes widened. "Twenty times?! That much chakra?"

Kiyoshi chuckled. "Lightning Release techniques are demanding. You've seen how quickly I recover after missions, right? That's because I train my body constantly. Flashy techniques aren't just about looking cool—they require a strong foundation."

Izuna frowned, counting on his fingers. "So... twenty times the chakra, more physical training, learning elemental manipulation, quick seals... Why is it so hard to fight like that?"

"Don't rush it," Kiyoshi said reassuringly. "You're still young. As you grow, your body will naturally improve, and condensing chakra will become easier. For now, focus on building your physical strength and practicing basic control."

He ruffled Izuna's hair with a grin. "There are other things you can learn right now. If you work hard, you'll surpass your peers in no time."

Izuna perked up, grabbing Kiyoshi's arm eagerly. "What is it? Is it cool too?"

"Hmm... maybe," Kiyoshi said with a teasing smile. "It's a skill that's essential before learning advanced jutsu."

"Then I want to learn it!"

"Alright, but be careful when you practice, okay?" Kiyoshi rose to his feet, leaning on his cane as he walked to the wall. "Watch closely."

Izuna nodded, his attention laser-focused. He watched as Kiyoshi placed his foot against the wall, then slowly walked up vertically. Step by step, Kiyoshi climbed until he stood parallel to the ground, steady and calm.

Izuna's eyes sparkled with awe. "That's... using chakra, right?"

"Exactly," Kiyoshi said, stepping down and sitting beside his brother. "It's called tree climbing. It's a basic exercise for controlling your chakra. You'll need to concentrate chakra at the soles of your feet and adjust the output constantly to stick to surfaces."

"Why does it work like that? How can chakra make me stick to things?"

"It's not just sticking," Kiyoshi explained. "You're using chakra to bond with the surface, deceiving it into treating you as part of it. The chakra spreads your weight evenly, letting you stabilize and move freely."

Izuna nodded slowly, still processing.

"Different surfaces require different chakra adjustments," Kiyoshi added. "For example, softer or slippery surfaces need more precise control. But don't worry—this exercise doesn't use much chakra compared to ninjutsu. It's perfect for building your control while your reserves are still small."

"Got it!" Izuna clenched his fists in determination. "I'll practice until I master it!"

Kiyoshi chuckled. "Good. If you have questions, ask me anytime. Don't hold back, alright?"

"Yes, brother! I promise!"

A short while later, Madara stepped into the yard, carrying firewood. He paused, watching Kiyoshi guiding Izuna as the boy walked unsteadily up a tree.

"Tree climbing, huh?" Madara called out with a grin. "How's Izuna doing?"

"Pretty well," Kiyoshi replied, crouching slightly with his arms ready to catch Izuna if he fell. "He's managed seven or eight steps already."

"That's impressive," Madara said, approaching with a laugh. "At his age, I could barely manage three steps."

Just as he spoke, Izuna's foot slipped, and he toppled backward. Kiyoshi caught him easily, smiling. "Not bad—this time, you made it ten steps."

Izuna pouted. "It's so hard to balance my chakra. Too little, and I can't stick. Too much, and I bounce off. Why is this so tricky?"

Madara chuckled. "It's normal, Izuna. When I first learned it, it took me an entire day to get it right. Here's a tip—start by using your hands. Get a feel for the chakra flow first, then move to your feet."

Izuna's eyes lit up with determination, but before he could respond, Kiyoshi smirked. "Madara learned it the hard way, though. He fell into a river while trying to climb a tree. That's how he figured it out."

Madara flushed. "Brother! You didn't have to bring that up!"

Kiyoshi laughed heartily. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about. I had to learn it because I climbed too high and got stuck. My first attempt was so clumsy I could barely manage without looking ridiculous."

Izuna laughed along with them, his earlier frustration fading. The warmth of his brothers' presence filled him with determination. "I'll get it, just wait and see!"
