Intro before you start reading Azure Awakening.

These are non-combat ranks:

* Academy Student - Trainees learning the basics of ninja techniques and theory. Can be promoted after Passing the graduation exam

* Trainee Ninja - the trial period after passing the graduation exam before becoming the Genin.

These are combat ranks:

* Genin - Entry-level ninja who form the backbone of a village's workforce. Can handle D-rank and occasional C-rank missions under a Jōnin leader.

* Senior Genin - Experienced Genin who have yet to become Chūnin but have shown significant growth. Can handle C-rank missions with limited independence.

* Chūnin - Ninja capable of independent leadership and decision-making. Can lead Genins and Senior Genins. Can handle C-rank to B-rank missions.

* Elite Chūnin - Experienced Chunin who are close to Jonin rank. Can lead chunins and below. Can handle B-rank missions.

* Tokubetsu Jōnin (Special Jōnin) - Experts in specific fields such as interrogation, medical ninjutsu, or sensory abilities who are close to becoming Jonins.

* Jōnin - Elite ninja who are masters of their craft and capable of handling the most dangerous missions. Can lead Chunins and Genins. Can handle A-rank and S-rank missions, including critical village defense operations.

* Master Jōnin - Distinguished Jōnin recognized for exceptional service or skill. Assigned high-level missions, special tasks, or leadership over ANBU units. Can handle S-rank missions and strategic leadership roles.

* Shinsei - reserved for ninjas of extraordinary ability, strength, and influence, who rival Kage-level combatants. S-rank missions, classified operations, and missions involving existential threats. Can also lead armies.

These are special ranks:

* ANBU (Special Forces) - Covert operatives who handle assassination, reconnaissance, and black ops. Must be Special Elite Chūnin or above.

* Clan Specialist - Ninja who are elite representatives of their clan's unique techniques or Kekkei Genkai.

* Clan Head- The leader of a clan.

* Kage (Village Leader) - The leader of a Hidden Village, responsible for governance and military strategy.

* Council Member - Senior ninja who advise the Kage / Clan head on different matters.

Jutsu Ranks:

* E-Rank: Basic Academy-level techniques.

* D-Rank: Low-level practical and combat techniques for Genin.

* C-Rank: Intermediate-level jutsu for Genin and Chūnin.

* B-Rank: Advanced techniques for Chūnin and Jōnin.

* A-Rank: High-level techniques for Jōnin and above.

* S-Rank: Forbidden and elite techniques for Kage-level ninja.

* Specialized Subcategories:

 * Forbidden Jutsu (Kinjutsu).

 * Clan Techniques (Hidden Jutsu).

 * Sage Techniques (Senjutsu).

 * Dojutsu Techniques.

 * Elemental Techniques.
