Chapter 189: Chapter 189
The Two-Tails was a massive blue flame cat, towering dozens of meters high.
With a roar, it unleashed a violent hurricane.
The trees in front of it were uprooted by the storm, clearing a vast area of several dozen meters in an instant.
The fierce wind whipped at Yoruha's clothes, making them rustle loudly.
If it weren't for the protection of the lightning net, Yoruha would likely have been torn to shreds by the storm.
Such was the power of a Tailed Beast; if its strength hit a person, the result would be terrifying.
When the Akatsuki captured Tailed Beasts, they rarely faced their attacks head-on. Watching the Two-Tails thrashing about, Yoruha frowned, "Why is it so hard to have a civil conversation?"
"I really didn't want to fight," he said, his gaze sharpening as he raised a hand.
"Earth Release: Earth Fortress Wall!" With a rumbling sound, Yoruha channeled a massive amount of chakra, causing a circular wall with a diameter of 300 meters to rise around the forest.
The wall stood over a hundred meters tall and was just as thick.
This terrifying large-scale Earth Release jutsu caused violent tremors for kilometers around.
Even the fully Tailed Beast-transformed Yugito Nii was stunned by the scale of the Earth Release jutsu.
"Is this guy really human?" The chakra required for such a large-scale Earth Release was unimaginable.
Moreover, Yoruha hadn't even formed any hand seals; he merely raised his hand, and the wall rose with it.
The scene was incredibly shocking. After completing the Earth Release, Yoruha vanished from sight, startling Yugito Nii.
"Damn it, where did he go?" This time, Yoruha had used the Flying Thunder God Technique, making it impossible for the Two-Tails to track his movements. Meanwhile, Yoruha, whom Yugito Nii was searching for, was already standing atop the wall.
Looking at the enclosed Yugito Nii, Yoruha's expression was stern. "Lightning Release: Thunder Field." Suddenly, countless arcs of lightning surged around the wall.
These arcs were several meters thick, and numerous golden lightning serpents struck towards the center where the Two-Tails was. "Crack!" "Boom, boom, boom..."
In an instant, it was as if a sun had appeared within the walls, dazzlingly bright. Outside the walls, everything was calm. Yugito Nii hadn't even realized what was happening before being engulfed by the barrage of lightning serpents.
The intense explosions caused violent tremors for over a dozen kilometers around. Yoruha stood on the wall, watching the scene with a calm expression.
Though these were very ordinary jutsu, because Yoruha was the one casting them, their power was no less than that of a Tailed Beast Bomb, perhaps even stronger, due to the sustained nature of the attack and Yoruha's ability to easily control its power.
The attack lasted only a few seconds before dissipating. Any longer, and Yugito Nii would have been killed. As the lightning faded, smoke and dust filled the space within the walls, rising hundreds of meters into the air.
Yoruha kept his sensory abilities active, ensuring he didn't accidentally kill Yugito Nii. Growing impatient from the wait, Yoruha decided to act.
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough." A gust of wind blew the smoke and dust away, revealing the situation inside the walls.
Within the fortress walls, all the flowers, grass, and trees had vanished, leaving only a massive crater with a diameter equal to that of the city walls.
The crater was over a hundred meters deep. What was terrifying was that such a massive explosion hadn't destroyed the surrounding walls.
This spoke volumes about Yoruha's mastery over ninjutsu, and the walls' sturdiness, to withstand such a powerful blast.
At the center of the crater, Yugito Nii lay dazed. She had just experienced something akin to an apocalyptic nightmare, utterly powerless to resist.
Never before had anyone made her feel so hopeless. If Yoruha had been a renowned ninja, it might have been easier to accept, but he was an unknown upstart. She hadn't just lost; she had been utterly defeated.
The next moment, Yoruha appeared beside her. Seeing Yugito covered in blood, Yoruha crouched down silently and began using medical ninjutsu on her. Yugito turned her head to look at Yoruha's calm expression.
"What is your name?"
"Natsuki (Natsuki) Yoruha."
"Never heard of it," Yugito replied.
By now, she understood the vast difference in their abilities. They weren't even on the same level. Her pride had been shattered by the ninjutsu just now, bringing her back to reality.
She was definitely no match for Yoruha, or rather, she wasn't even worthy of being his opponent. Watching Yoruha use the Mystical Palm Technique, Yugito felt even more despair. "The Mystical Palm Technique, you even know such advanced medical ninjutsu."
Yoruha didn't respond.
"I just wanted to say, that incident wasn't my fault."
Yugito sneered, "So it was our fault then?"
Yoruha remained silent. Yugito snorted, but Yoruha's actions had brought her back to her senses.
Indeed, it wasn't Yoruha's fault; they had entered without investigating. The area had been shrouded in mist, and they had been careless. Moreover, the hot spring was mixed bathing, and Yoruha hadn't done it on purpose.
"Which ninja village are you from?" Yugito asked, since Yoruha hadn't worn a forehead protector while in the hot spring. She couldn't tell which village he belonged to.
Additionally, Yoruha wasn't from a ninja clan, so his surname didn't give anything away.
"Konohagakure," Yoruha replied. Yugito fell silent, then after a while, she smiled bitterly, "I've never heard of you before."
Yoruha smiled, "I just graduated from the Ninja Academy not long ago. It's normal you haven't heard of me."
Yugito looked at Yoruha, incredulous. "Are you saying you're a Genin?" Yugito couldn't accept that she had lost to a Genin.
"Not a Genin, I'm a Chunin now, and soon I'll be a Jonin." Yugito's mouth twitched. "I actually lost to a Chunin, how ridiculous."
Yugito laughed at herself. "Your strength is far beyond what a Chunin should have."
"Konohagakure is going to rise."
Yoruha's strength was overwhelming. With just two jutsu, he had demonstrated the pressure of a Kage-level ninja.
Even among Kage-level ninjas, he was exceptionally powerful. Moreover, after using two large-scale jutsu, Yoruha showed no signs of chakra exhaustion.
It was truly terrifying.
"Are you a Jinchuriki?" Yugito asked.
This was the only reason she could think of for Yoruha's immense chakra reserves. The two jutsu he used earlier would have been impossible without Bijuu-level chakra, let alone using them with such ease.
There wasn't the slightest hint of strain. Only the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki from Konoha could do that. Yoruha smiled, though he didn't want to answer the question.
But he didn't want to deceive Yugito either, nor was there a need. Naruto being a Jinchuriki was something that, while not widely known outside the village, could be discovered with a bit of investigation. Why lie to her?
