mysterious revenge: An Impossible love story

Chapter 14: Love's Regret

Ayan was walking out of the room when Roshni stopped him. "Wait, what did you do to me?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion. Ayan turned around, his eyes wide with nervousness. "What are you talking about? What did I do?"

Roshni's eyes welled up with tears as she pointed to Ayan's battered face. "Look at yourself, Ayan. You're hurt so badly, and you haven't even applied any medicine yet." Ayan's face contorted in confusion. "What happened to me?"

Roshni's voice rose in anger. "You're asking me what happened to you? Of course, it's because of you! You got hurt so badly, and now you're not even taking care of yourself." Ayan shook his head, feeling a wave of guilt wash over him. "No, I'll take care of myself. I'll apply the medicine. You focus on your health and take your medicine on time."

Roshni's expression softened, and she asked, "Will you not come to give me my medicine?" Ayan looked into her eyes, unsure of what to say. He felt a lump form in his throat as he struggled to find the right words.

Finally, he muttered, "I have something important to take care of. I won't be able to come." Roshni nodded, her eyes understanding. "Okay, go. But try to come back soon." Ayan turned to leave, but Roshni called out to him. "You're not going to tell me what's going on, are you?"

Ayan hesitated, unsure of how to respond. He knew that Roshni was hurt, and he didn't want to lie to her. But he also couldn't tell her the truth. Not yet, at least. "I'll tell you later," he promised, before turning and walking away.

As he left the room, Roshni called out to him again. "Ayan, be careful!" But Ayan was already gone, lost in his own thoughts.

Harleen entered the room, concern etched on her face. "Roshni, are you okay?" Roshni nodded, trying to compose herself. "I'm fine, Harleen."

Harleen's expression turned thoughtful. "Mahir really loves you, Roshni. I could see it in his face when you were in surgery. He was so worried about you." Roshni's eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know. But he's been avoiding me. I don't know why."

Ayan, meanwhile, had reached his room and was venting his frustration. He slammed his fist into the wall, feeling a wave of anger wash over him. "Why did I do this?" he shouted, his voice echoing off the walls. "Why did I hurt Roshni like this?"

He dropped to his knees, overcome with emotion. "I'm so sorry, Roshni," he whispered, his voice cracking with sorrow. "I'm so sorry for hurting you." Vivan entered the room, concern etched on his face. "Ayan, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Ayan looked up, his eyes red-rimmed. "I don't know, Vivan. I just feel so guilty. I hurt Roshni, and now she's hurt. I don't know how to make it right." Vivan's expression softened, and he put a hand on Ayan's shoulder. "We'll figure it out, Ayan. Together."
