Chapter 2 - The girl and the griffon 1
I wake up to the sound of a griffon.
Several days have already passed since Mr. Ma brought me to the griffon’s nest.
Oh yeah, the horse is with us too. Even though Ma-san and Griffon are two different beings, they somehow get along well. Although the goal is to find a goal, I’m currently having a hard time thinking about what I want to do or how I want to live my life.
I’m probably a miko, although I’m not sure. But I also wonder if everything is forgiven just because she’s a miko. I was shunned in the village where I was born and raised, but I have mixed feelings when I think about whether my mother and father would have changed their attitude if it was revealed that I was a miko instead of my sister. Because I will.
As soon as I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is wash my face. The griffon takes me to the river and I wash my face. Also, get some drinking water. Inside the griffon’s nest, there were many small items that the griffons had collected, and among them was a water bottle, so I cleaned it up and used it.
The griffons just put their mouths in the river and drink water, so the baby griffons would look at me strangely if I used a water bottle.
Even so, I never thought that if I lived in a village called Griffon, I would be able to get along like this with a monster that I would never meet.
I thought it might be a miko…because I didn’t happen to encounter any monsters, or because I happened to get food. Even so, Mr. Ma was kind to me. But… I don’t think all monsters are friendly to me. If all living things were kind to me in the first place, then I couldn’t explain why my family and the people in the village behaved the way they did. There may be a variety of things, depending on the organism.
But even if I think about it, I honestly don’t understand.
If I had been officially adopted by the temple as a miko, I might have been able to find out what kind of existence the past miko were.
There’s no particular job I can do in the griffon’s nest.
The griffons come back after hunting, but to be honest, I can’t really hunt any creatures. I haven’t learned anything like that. However, I’ve heard that miko use amazing magic, so I think it might be possible… but I can’t use something I haven’t learned right away.
By the way, for meals, we eat things that Griffon has hunted and roasted over a fire. Ma put out the fire. Who are you really, Mr. Ma?
“…Gryphon, Mr.”
Talk to the griffons. The griffon seems to understand my words, and responds when I speak to it.
Anyway, since we haven’t talked much, I’m not good at talking.
He spoke to the griffon who turned around.
“I want a job too.”
When I said that, the griffon seemed to be thinking a little and said something. However, although my words seem to be understood by the griffon, I honestly don’t know what the griffon is saying.
“Gururuu”
“…Sorry, I don’t know.”
“Guru…”
The griffon felt depressed. Sorry, but I really don’t know.
It would be best if I could exchange words with Mr. Griffon… I can understand a little by their gestures, but when it comes to small details, it’s difficult to judge what they’re saying by their cries.
I wanted to be able to understand the words of griffons, that’s what I thought.
I’m indebted to the griffons and horses, so I’d like to give something back. What can I do? I was only seven years old, and although I thought I was a miko, I had no idea what I could do, and I felt a little depressed because I felt like I was useless.
My horse took me for a walk when I was feeling down.
…Hmm, I wonder what the horse and griffons will be happy about. Ah, the baby griffons seem happy when I pet them, so I think they’ll be happy if I brush them. That’s what I came up with. However, one problem is that there is no brush. Maybe it’s among the things Griffon collects.
With this idea in mind, I searched for the brush after returning from a walk with my horse. found. In fact, there was a cup. Maybe it’s a habit of bringing a brush with you when you find it? I don’t know, but after I washed the brush once and went out in front of the baby griffons, they approached me with sparkling eyes, so I think they would be happy to brush them.
“Painless……?”
Of course, this is my first time brushing a griffon, so I asked as I passed the brush through it. The griffon’s fluffy fur is pleasant to the touch. It makes me happy to hear you sound like you’re feeling good.
After brushing the baby griffons, the adult griffons and the horse were also looking at me with a look of “I want you to do it”, so I brushed them all, although it was difficult since there were so many of them.
After I finished brushing everyone, I felt a sense of accomplishment.

(Perhaps the miko girl is relaxing with the griffon.)
