Chapter 07

Max's eyes opened slowly. Morning light was streaming in through the window. He saw that his room was empty—his roommates had probably left already. Glancing at the clock, his heart stopped for a moment when he saw the time.

"Just 2 days and 20 hours…" he said slowly. Nervously, he opened his system screen and focused on his life time.

"I have to increase my life time as soon as possible. But for that, I have to understand my powers better."

Max composed himself and walked down the corridor. "Library… I have to find the library first. Maybe there is something there that can help me."

The encounter

As he came down from the third floor to the ground floor, he saw some movement outside near the canteen. A boy was being beaten up there. He went closer and saw that the boy being beaten was none other than Rudra.

Max stopped. He was reminded of his old school days when he too was bullied in the same way.

"How dare you spill food on me?" Vishal, a second year student, shouted in anger. He kicked Rudra hard in the stomach.

Rudra was screaming in pain. People standing around were watching the spectacle, but no one came forward to help.

Max's anger started to rise. He pushed his way through the crowd and stood in front of Vishal.

"Leave him," he said in a harsh voice.

Vishal laughed, "You? A level 01? You will save him?"

Sachin and Rohan standing with him also started laughing.

"You will have to teach me how to respect seniors," Vishal said arrogantly.

Sachin, who was a level 03, said, showing off his power, "Toofani gale ka vaar." The wind suddenly became so strong that both Max and Rudra were lifted off the ground and fell far away.

Facing the challenge

Max got a notification from his system:

"HP: 8/10. Opponent found. New challenge received: Fight face to face."

Max was confused. If he used his Shadow Range, Abhay would know that he had defeated the Copy Cat Beast. And if he used Flash Step, Lily would know his strength.

Meanwhile, Ajay, who was Level 02, came running. He picked up Max and Rudra and slammed them against the canteen wall.

The system again gave a notification:

"HP: 5/10."

Vishal laughed and said, "Now you must have understood how to talk to seniors." He and his friends left laughing.

New friendship

Rudra said in a tired voice, "You didn't need to interfere. I would have handled it myself."

Max replied with a light smile, "This is what friends do."

Hearing this, Rudra's eyes lit up. He asked, "Are we really friends?"

Max nodded. This was the first time someone made both of them feel friendship.

New crisis

Suddenly, a notification came from Max's system:

"Challenge failed. Life time reduced by one hour."

Max was shocked to hear this. He had very little time left. He had to know the truth about his powers soon.

Rudra asked, "By the way, where were you going?"

Max replied, "I had to go to the library. Trying to find something there."

Rudra smiled and said, "I saw the library this morning. If you want, I can take you there."

Max agreed. Both of them headed towards the library with a new beginning.

After some time

Max and Rudra were standing in the library. Around them were high racks filled with books. As soon as Max stepped into the OCA library for the first time, he felt that he might find out something about his powers here. He read the notice board carefully.

**"Please note: The library is divided into three floors.

Floor 1: For Level 1 to Level 3 students.

Floor 2: For Level 4 to Level 6 students.

Floor 3: For Level 7 to Level 9 students."**

Max saw three big racks on the first floor. Each rack had hundreds of books. He said to himself, "If there is anything about my powers, it will be here."

Rudra also started looking at the books. But he was in a mood of fun and was reading some weird books. In one book he read how a power user can transform into a figure with a strange power called "Cute" at any time, which makes the person in front of him faint by making them squirt blood from their nose.

"This is funny!" Rudra said laughing.

Secret passage revealed

Rudra tried to put the book back in the rack, but the book was not going in. He looked behind the rack and saw a black lever. Without thinking, he pulled the lever.

Just then, the rack started moving and a secret passage opened up underneath it. Rudra's eyes lit up when he saw this.

"Wow, there's something really special hidden here. Let's see!" he said excitedly.

Max and Rudra headed towards the secret passage. The atmosphere in the library had suddenly become more mysterious. Rudra, who was very excited earlier, now looked a little cautious.

Max whispered, "Do you think we should come here? If this passage is secret, it means there is something here that no one should know about."

Rudra smiled, "And that's the fun! Things that are hidden are the most valuable."

The two slowly started going down. The stairs were made of stone and had a thick layer of dust on them. As soon as they went down, they saw a door to a large room. Above the door was written a sign:

"KOnly those who are ready to face the darkness within themselves should enter."

Max looked at Rudra, "This looks scary. Are you sure we are safe here?"

Rudra laughed, "We are in OCA. There is no such thing as safe here. Let's see inside."

The Secret Room

Rudra opened the door. The sight inside was astonishing. There were strange symbols on the walls, and a black book was placed in the middle of the room. The book had a faint aura of blue light around it.

Max said in a low voice, "What is this? This does not look like a normal book."

Rudra, moving forward curiously, reached the book and was about to touch it when Max shouted, "Wait! We must first understand what this is. "Is this a trap?"

But Rudra did not listen to him. He picked up the book. As soon as he picked up the book, the whole room became dark like black clouds. The walls around both of them started trembling.

System notification:

"Dangerous spirit has been activated. Unknown power detected."

Max's heart started beating fast. He said to Rudra, "Put the book back! It is not safe."

Unique book and warning

But a resonating voice came out of the book laughing: a terrifying voice saying I am free now I am free no one can stop me no one.

Rudra got scared and threw the book down. Just then the book rose in the air and its pages started turning on their own. A black figure came out of the book and appeared in front of them.

"Why have you both come here?" the figure asked angrily. "You have freed me it is my duty to free you from your life" saying this the spirit started laughing loudly.

What will happen next? Which dangerous power did Max and Rudra unleash?

Will Max be able to save his life? How will Max increase his life time?

What is the truth of this planet? Who was that soul? Who imprisoned him?
