My Power to Ignore Enemy Abilities Lets Me Rule Another World

Chapter 14: This is a battle no one can afford to lose!

"Hey! New recruit over there! Stop dawdling and get to the Fourth Tower for backup!"

I looked toward the voice and saw a big, burly man with a thick beard in black heavy armor shouting at me, his entire body already covered in fresh blood.

The reason he knew I was a new recruit was the rank badge unique to new soldiers pinned to my shoulder; any soldier in the imperial capital would recognize my rank from it.

I signaled my agreement, and he turned and hurried away.

As for the location of the Fourth Tower he mentioned, I recalled hearing about it from Savorn earlier while I was gathering intel for the mission.

In fact, I was told during registration that I should memorize the locations of all notable landmarks within the city, but I hadn't done that yet.

Well, as long as I head toward the Fourth Tower, I should be fine. No need to overthink it.

"We've already lost nearly seventy percent of our defensive forces. If this continues, our nation will be destroyed..."

"Even the Sacred Generals are struggling against this invasion. It's time to request reinforcements from the 'Primordial Court'!"

The Minister of Industry and the Minister of Science spoke urgently to Criz, who stood on the podium.

Not just those two, but every official in the conference room expressed deep concern for the country's survival.

No one could understand what Criz was thinking; despite the grave situation, he refused to ask for aid from their allies.

The room buzzed with increasingly anxious voices until...

"Silence."

Criz's commanding voice filled the room, and an unprecedented, powerful pressure fell upon all the ministers, compelling them to fall silent.

"Bisut, come here."

"Yes."

Criz called over an attendant dressed in a robe, who knelt before him on one knee.

"We're going to retrieve the 'Divine Body.'"

The room erupted at his words.

"We're going to use that...! But wasn't it missing until now?"

"There were unusual disturbances in the northern cave recently, weren't there? It's likely someone stole it and tried to use it."

"But judging from that minor disturbance… the power boost from the Divine Body shouldn't have been so small."

"Because it was a counterfeit. The one I'm about to retrieve is the real Divine Body."

Meanwhile, thousands of meters above the empire, two unknown figures observed the battlefield below.

"The Sovereign of the Empire of Celestial Judgement is dead, and several Sacred Generals have also fallen. Did we overestimate the strength of the Empire of Celestial Judgement…?"

A woman, wearing a rose-shaped helmet and deep in thought, said.

"Relying solely on that 'God from Another World' and his generals isn't enough to counter the 'Extraordinary Beings'… and only a few of the lowest-ranked were sent out this time."

Another silver-haired woman opened her eyes, which glowed with nine-layered circular patterns, and looked at the blazing battlefield within the imperial city.

"The potential warriors I secretly placed within that country… I don't have high expectations, but if even one of them can surpass these Extraordinary Beings..."

"What are you thinking? Those guys probably can't even beat us."

"Well... one of the men I recently threw into the fray… he's hard to gauge."

"There is indeed something unusual about his power… but it still feels insufficient, as if something is missing."

"Heh… we may as well step in ourselves."

The silver-haired woman's words weren't entirely wrong, but to her companion, this seemed far from realistic.

"Did you forget we're also members of the 'Extraordinary Beings'? Engaging in direct conflict with our own will only invite annihilation from the organization. Don't be reckless."

"Heh…"

The silver-haired woman gave a meaningful smile and then vanished, as if she had never been there.

"That man, huh… I hope he can truly exceed expectations."

Leaving this thought, the other figure also disappeared from the sky.
