Chén Lóng's eyes snapped open, and he gasped, clutching his chest. He sat up with a start, his heart racing as he gasped for breath.

Lǐ Yīng's concerned face hovered above him. "Chén Lóng, are you alright?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.

Chén Lóng's gaze darted around the room, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. He tried to piece together what had happened, but his memories seemed foggy.

As he struggled to recall, fragments of his past began to resurface. He then suddenly remembered being in this very room, seven years ago, to negotiate their marriage with Lǐ Yīng's family.

His eyes widened in shock as the realization hit him: he had been sent back in time.

"Seven years..." he muttered, stunned.

Lǐ Yīng's expression changed from concern to confusion. "What are you talking about, Chén Lóng?" she asked, her brow furrowed in confusion.

Chén Lóng's gaze locked onto hers, his mind racing with the implications. He had a second chance, a chance to redo the past and change the course of his life.

Rushing towards the window his heart racing with anticipation. He gazed at his reflection, and his eyes widened in wonder.

The man staring back at him was a stranger, yet familiar. The prematurely grey hair was gone, replaced by a rich, dark blond. His face was no longer gaunt and worn, but smooth and handsome.

He looked like his old self, the man he was seven years ago, before the stress and hardships had taken their toll. But there was something different, something that caught his attention. His eyes, once a deep brown, now shone like golden amber, radiating an otherworldly intensity.

Chén Lóng's gaze was transfixed on his reflection, his mind reeling with the implications. He had indeed been reincarnated, sent back seven years into the past.

He looked down at his hands flexing them gently. " Have I truly been reborn?" he asked. Lǐ Yīng approached him, concern etched on her face. "Chén Lóng, are you okay? You look...different."

Chén Lóng's grin spread from ear to ear as he gazed at her. "I'm more than okay," he said, his voice filled with excitement.

Lǐ Yīng's confusion deepened, but Chén Lóng didn't give her a chance to ask more questions. " Let's go," he said, offering his arm to Lǐ Yīng. "I couldn't wait to speak with your parents."

Lǐ Yīng's eyes narrowed slightly, but she took his arm, and they walked together, Chén Lóng's golden eyes shining with cold anticipation.

Lǐ Yīng led Chén Lóng into the living room, where her family was waiting. The room was modestly furnished, with a worn but comfortable sofa set, a small coffee table, and a few armchairs. The walls were adorned with family photos and a few traditional Chinese paintings.

Seated on the sofa were Lǐ Yīng's parents, Lǐ Jiàn and Wáng Mèi. Lǐ Jiàn's stern expression seemed chiseled into his face, while Wáng Mèi's sharp eyes narrowed slightly as she regarded Chén Lóng.

Lǐ Yīng's older brother, Lǐ Wěi, sat on the armchair opposite the sofa, his serious expression unwavering. His hair was slicked back, revealing a prominent forehead.

The floor was occupied by Lǐ Yīng's younger sisters, Lǐ Xiǎo and Lǐ Mèng, who were engrossed in a traditional Chinese puzzle. They looked up at Chén Lóng with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

Standing near the door were Lǐ Yīng's aunts and uncles. Yǐng Yú, Lǐ Yīng's mother's sister, watched Chén Lóng with a calculating gaze, while her husband, Zhāng Huá, stood beside her, his expression unreadable.

Lǐ Yīng's paternal uncle, Lǐ Guó, stood beside them, his eyes narrowing slightly as he regarded Chén Lóng. His wife, Sūn Lì, stood beside him, her expression equally stern.

The room fell silent as Chén Lóng entered, all eyes fixed on him. Wáng Mèi's voice cut through the silence, her tone sharp. "So, Chén Lóng, we finally meet."

Chén Lóng's expression remained neutral as he gazed at Lǐ Yīng's family. "Let's get this over with," he said, his voice devoid of emotion.

In his mind, however, Chén Lóng was thinking differently. He knew he wasn't going to marry Lǐ Yīng, not after everything he had learned in his past life. He was just playing along, humoring them until he could turn the tables.

Lǐ Jiàn cleared his throat, seemingly taken aback by Chén Lóng's indifference. "Ah, yes, well... We were discussing the terms of your marriage to Lǐ Yīng."

Chén Lóng raised an eyebrow, his golden eyes glinting with disinterest. "I'm listening," he said, all the while thinking that he would never actually go through with the marriage.

Her father leaned forward, a calculating glint in his eye. "Firstly, we require a dowry of 600,000 yuan."

Wáng Mèi chimed in, her voice sharp. "And we expect you to provide a house for Lǐ Yīng, one that is worthy of our family's status."

Lǐ Wěi, Lǐ Yīng's older brother, spoke up, his tone arrogant. "Furthermore, we demand that you secure a high-paying job, one that will ensure Lǐ Yīng's financial security."

Chén Lóng listened to their demands, his expression unreadable. In his mind, he was thinking that these people had no idea what he was truly capable of.

Chén Lóng raised an eyebrow, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Is that all? I was expecting a few more demands, considering the great honor it is to marry into your esteemed family."

Lǐ Jiàn's face reddened, but he pressed on. "One more thing. We expect you to take care of Lǐ Yīng's younger sisters, providing for their education and well-being."

Chén Lóng's smile grew wider, his golden eyes glinting with amusement. "I see. And what makes you think I'm interested in marrying Lǐ Yīng in the first place?"

The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on Chén Lóng. Lǐ Yīng's family seemed taken aback by his sudden refusal.

Lǐ Jiàn's face darkened, his voice low and menacing. "You'd do well to remember your place, Chén Lóng. You're not in a position to refuse our offer."

Chén Lóng chuckled, his eyes flashing with disdain. "Oh, but I am. You see, I've realized that I'm not interested in marrying into a family that only values wealth and status. I deserve better than that."

Lǐ Yīng's family gasped in shock, their faces pale with rage. Chén Lóng stood up, his eyes never leaving theirs.

"I think it's time for me to leave. It's been...enlightening, to say the least."

With that, Chén Lóng turned and walked away, leaving Lǐ Yīng's family in stunned silence. Lǐ Yīng's face fell, her eyes widening in shock and hurt. She took a step forward, her voice trembling. "Chén Lóng, why are you saying this? I thought...I thought we had an understanding."

Chén Lóng's expression remained cold, his eyes glinting with a distant memory. "We had an understanding, Lǐ Yīng. But I've realized that I'm not interested in marrying you. It's as simple as that."

Lǐ Yīng's eyes filled with tears, but Chén Lóng's expression didn't waver. He had seen her true nature in his past life, and he wouldn't be swayed by her tears now.

Chén Lóng turned to leave, his back to Lǐ Yīng and her family. Lǐ Jiàn's face turned red with rage, and he spat out a curse. "You'll regret this, Chén Lóng! You'll never find a wife as good as Lǐ Yīng!"

Wáng Mèi joined in, her voice shrill. "Yes, you'll be cursed to a life of loneliness and misery!"

Chén Lóng grinned, his golden eyes glinting with amusement. "I'm shaking in my boots," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

With that, he walked out of the house, leaving Lǐ Yīng and her family to their curses and recriminations.

As he stepped outside, he was immediately enveloped in the sights and sounds of the bustling sidewalk. People rushed past him, their faces a blur as they hurried to and fro. The sounds of hawkers calling out their wares, the hum of traffic, and the chatter of pedestrians filled the air.

Chén Lóng took a deep breath, feeling a sense of freedom wash over him. He had left Lǐ Yīng and her family behind, and he was ready to start his new life.

Chén Lóng's thoughts were interrupted by a sudden, unfamiliar voice in his mind.

"Congratulations, Host," the voice said. "You have successfully completed your first mission."

Chén Lóng's eyes widened in shock. What was this voice? And what did it mean by "mission"? He had never experienced anything like this before.

He stumbled slightly, his mind reeling with questions. Who or what was speaking to him? And how was it possible? " Who or what are you he asked.

"Host, you have been selected to participate in the Ultimate Wealth and Experience System," the System continued, its voice calm and detached. "Your past life experiences and current circumstances make you an ideal candidate."

Chén Lóng's mind was still reeling from the sudden appearance of the System. "What does this system do?" he asked, his thoughts racing.

"The Ultimate Wealth and Experience System is designed to provide you with opportunities to accumulate wealth, experience, and power," the System explained. "You will receive missions, objectives, and rewards. Your success will depend on your ability to adapt, make strategic decisions, and overcome challenges."

Chén Lóng's eyes narrowed. "What kind of missions?". "The missions will vary," the System replied. "Some will focus on accumulating wealth, while others will provide opportunities for personal growth and experience. You may be required to form alliances, negotiate business deals, or even navigate complex social relationships."

Chén Lóng's mind was racing with questions, but the System continued before he could ask any of them.

"Your current mission is complete," the System said. "You have successfully refused the marriage proposal from Lǐ Yīng's family. As a reward, you have been granted 10,000 experience points and 1 billion yuan which has already been added to your account but for some unknown error the hits stats are already maxed making further levelling up unavailable at this time."

Chén Lóng's eyes widened in surprise. Experience points? Yuan? What did it all mean?

The System seemed to sense his confusion. "Host, you can access your account information and mission logs at any time. Simply think about what you want to access, and the information will be provided to you."

Chén Lóng nodded, still trying to process everything. He thought about his account information, and suddenly, a virtual screen appeared in his mind's eye. He saw his experience points, yuan, and mission logs all laid out before him.

As Chén Lóng gazed at the virtual screen in his mind's eye, he saw his account balance update in real-time. Suddenly, a small, sleek card materialized in front of him.

The card was black and gold, with intricate designs etched into its surface. Chén Lóng's eyes widened as he saw the balance displayed on the card: 1,500,000,000,000, 000,000, 000 yuan.

"What is this?" Chén Lóng asked, stunned.

"Your new bank card, Host," the System replied. "The balance on this card is yours to use as you see fit. The one billion yuan addened was an award for completing your first mission".

Chén Lóng's eyes sparkled with excitement as he held the black and gold card. "System, are there any missions available that I can undertake to further increase my wealth and experience.

The System responded promptly, "Actually, Host, there is one mission available that might interest you. There's a struggling automotive parts manufacturer on the verge of bankruptcy, and the owner is desperate to sell. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to acquire the company and turn it into a profitable venture within three months."

Chén Lóng's curiosity was piqued. "What's the current state of the company?" he asked.

"The company, JinHai Auto Parts, has a solid foundation in terms of equipment and personnel," the System replied. "However, poor management, outdated technology, and declining sales have led to its financial struggles. The owner is willing to sell the company for 500 million yuan, but it will require significant investment and strategic planning to turn it around."

Chén Lóng nodded thoughtfully, weighing the risks and potential rewards. "I'm interested. What kind of resources and support can I expect from the System to help me complete this mission?"

The System added, "However, Host, there's something important you need to be aware of. As a result of your physical and mental states being maxed out, your lifespan has been decreased to 50 years."

Chén Lóng's eyes widened in shock. "What? Why?"

"The System's enhancements come with a cost, Host," the System explained. "Your body's accelerated development and enhanced abilities have put a strain on your lifespan. However, completing missions and achieving specific goals can earn you additional lifespan."

Chén Lóng's grip on the black and gold card tightened. He realized that he had to complete missions not just to accumulate wealth and experience but also to extend his lifespan.

"What's the reward for completing the JinHai Auto Parts mission?" Chén Lóng asked, his mind racing with determination.

"Completing the mission will earn you 5 years of additional lifespan, 500 million yuan, and 100,000 experience points," the System replied. "But be warned, Host, the mission will not be easy. You'll need to use your skills, resources, and strategic thinking to succeed."

Chén Lóng's eyes blazed with determination. "I won't fail," he said, his voice firm.

"Thank you, System," he added, just as the chat bubble began to disappear.

As the bubble vanished, Chén Lóng gripped his black and gold card tightly, a wide grin spreading across his face. He felt an electric sense of excitement coursing through his veins.

He looked out the window, his gaze sweeping across the cityscape. "The city isn't ready for what's coming," he whispered to himself, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes.

With his newfound wealth, abilities, and determination, Chén Lóng was poised to take the city by storm. The question was, who would be the first to feel the impact of his rise to power?
