My Love Debts Are Everywhere!

Chapter 672: A Sad Farewell

Time flew by, and before anyone realized it, a month had already passed.

During that time, Arshley lived comfortably and leisurely in the inner palace—thanks in no small part to the presence of the little girls who were always by her side.

At first, their relationship had been warm but not yet deeply bonded.

But after a full month together, their connection had grown remarkably strong—so much so that it even surpassed their closeness with their biological mother, Liliana.

Well, it wasn't hard to understand why. Arshley was always with them—playing games, teaching, telling stories, and even helping Stella learn to weave and knit clothes.

Naturally, their affection for her deepened. To them, she had become a true mother in every sense.

More importantly, Arshley was never stingy with her time or affection. Every week, she took them on outings to the capital—just to play, shop, and enjoy their time together.

It made the girls feel happy, loved, and genuinely cared for.

Of course, Arshley didn't spend all her time doting on the children. She remained focused on her primary reason for coming to the inner palace.

Each night, she and Liliana would sit down for long conversations, discussing the cooperation between their two races.

Their talks covered critical areas: infrastructure, the economy, maintaining peace, and building a future of harmony between humans and demons.

After all, hatred between the two races had festered for over seven thousand years—peace couldn't be achieved through sweet words alone.

Because of this, the issue became the centerpiece of their nightly discussions, continuing consistently for an entire month.

Liliana also made sure to introduce Arshley to the high-ranking officials of the Demon race who resided in the outer palace.

Coincidentally, two weeks after Arshley's arrival, the mid-year council meeting was about to begin—and Liliana brought her in.

The demons were stunned. None of them had expected such a powerful figure to visit the Demon Empire, let alone attend one of their official gatherings.

Still, since the peace efforts between humans and demons had already been underway for some time, no one dared show hostility or hatred toward Arshley.

And even if they had the nerve, they'd have to be ready to lose their heads. One sharp glare from Liliana on the throne was enough to strip anyone of their courage.

Time continued to pass, and another month slipped by like a gust of wind. It had now been two months since Arshley's arrival—and today was the day of her return to the Holy Orthodoxy.

In the courtyard of the inner palace, Arshley stood with quiet elegance in a navy blue gown, facing Liliana, who stood calmly before her.

But Charlotte, Iris, Fiona, and even Stella clung tightly to her, clearly unwilling to let her go.

"Mommy Arshley, do you really have to leave?"

Fiona, clinging to her right leg, looked up at her with teary eyes and a deeply forlorn expression.

Arshley smiled softly and gently patted her head with affection.

"I don't want to part with you either, my dear. But I have to go back," Arshley said softly.

Charlotte, Iris, and Stella looked heartbroken, but they knew they had to let her go. Slowly, they released their hold on her.

Fiona was just as reluctant, but Iris gently pulled her away from Arshley's leg.

"Will you come back to the inner palace someday?" Iris asked in a hoarse voice.

"I will—if I get the chance," Arshley said softly, gently patting her head.

She turned to Charlotte and Stella next. "Look after your little sisters for me, alright?"

The two nodded slowly, their expressions still clouded with sorrow.

Arshley kissed them gently on the cheek, gave Liliana a subtle nod, then turned and gracefully stepped into her carriage.

As the carriage began to pull away, the little girls watched with heavy hearts and sorrowful eyes—but not Liliana.

In contrast, she looked cheerful and visibly relieved.

"Phew! Arshley's finally gone! Honestly, I was starting to feel like my own children were pushing me aside because of her!"

Since Arshley's arrival, everything had gone off track. Before, her children would come running whenever she called or invited them to play.

But over the past two months, things had changed. Desperate to regain their attention, she'd tried all sorts of things—even taking them on sightseeing trips to the capital, just like Arshley had.

They accepted her invitations, but their smiles never seemed as bright, their laughter never as genuine as when they were with Arshley.

It left her frustrated… and filled with regret. If only she had been more present before, perhaps Arshley wouldn't have won their hearts so easily.

And now… that smelly woman was gone. It was her chance to win back her daughters' love.

Gazing at her beloved children, Liliana stepped forward and crouched in front of them.

"Alright, don't be so sad," she said softly, gently rubbing their heads. "I'm still here, aren't I? We can go out and play together. I promise I'll make time, no matter how busy I get. How about it? Sounds fun, right?"

But instead of the cheerful response she was hoping for, the children exchanged glances—then slowly shook their heads.

"It's alright, Mommy. You can go back to work. We just want to rest for now," Charlotte said softly, her voice low and weary.

Without another word, she turned and walked back toward the palace, her steps unsteady.

Iris, Stella, and Fiona trailed behind with the same weary expressions and sluggish steps, leaving Liliana at a loss for words.

Behind her, Lyra remained still, observing the scene quietly. Her face was full of sympathy and concern.

"It seems Her Majesty Liliana will have a hard time winning back the Young Ladies' hearts," she whispered with a long sigh. "She really was thoroughly defeated by Saint Arshley."

...

"Hmmm~" Arshley hummed softly, gazing out the carriage window at the bustling capital.

Passing demons couldn't help but glance at the luxurious carriage and the white-armored escorts surrounding it, their eyes filled with curiosity and awe.

"Saint, may I ask you something?"

Riding alongside, Adam guided his horse closer to the right side of the carriage, peering in at Arshley through the window.

"Go ahead," Arshley replied gently.

Adam hesitated for a moment before asking, "Those little girls… are they the children of Demon Empress Liliana Crimson and Sword Hero Leon Kruger?"

He had been observing from a distance for the past two months, and the longer he watched, the more undeniable the resemblance became. The answer seemed obvious.

Arshley let out a soft chuckle and said playfully, "What if I told you they were my children?"

Adam: "..."
