Chapter 95: Encirclement and Arrest (Part 2)
"Lice become no itchier in multitudes," Chen Yu said nonchalantly, "I've already got enough trouble as it is. One more makes no difference."
Even the legendary "Great Emperor" wasn't spared from rumors.
Could there be anything more troublesome than this?
"May I ask something out of the blue," the bearded man whispered, looking straight at Chen Yu, "are you with the Human Rights Association?"
Chen Yu paused, then countered, "Are you?"
"I'm not."
"Neither am I."
"Then you're quite strange," the bearded man laughed.
"You're pretty strange yourself," Chen Yu continued eating.
The two, each with their own thoughts, stayed away from any sensitive subjects.
They chatted about this and that, each contributing to the conversation.
They ate and drank heartily, taking turns toasting each other.
"It's almost dawn." Standing up, Chen Yu wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth with a napkin, "I should get going."
"Alright," the bearded man nodded, "Safe travels."
"Big brother... bye-bye," the little girl with the protruding belly waved to Chen Yu.
"Here," Chen Yu magically produced a bag of White Rabbit Creamy Candies, handing them to the little girl, "a gift for you."
"Thank... thank you," the little girl said with surprise, taking the candies with a look of delight, "When did you buy these, big brother?"
"Goodbye now," Chen Yu patted the girl on the head.
"Will... will we meet again?"
"If fate allows, maybe even today," he replied.
Chen Yu took two steps back and clasped his fist at the bearded man, full of chivalrous spirit, "May the mountains stand unchanging, and the rivers flow forever."
The man: "..."
Chen Yu: "A general doesn't dismount; we each follow our own path!"
The man: "..."
Chen Yu: "Partings are hard when meetings are rare, the east wind is powerless as the blossoms wither!"
The man: "..."
"Brother, can't you follow up on any of my lines?" Chen Yu was shocked.
The bearded man was clueless: "...I... I never learned that stuff."
"Goodbye then."
"I know that one," the bearded man said earnestly, "Goodbye!"
...
Dawn broke.
In the Capital, the Transcendent District.
"Ding—" The bell signaling the beginning of prep sounded off as Chen Yu put down the book on "evil creatures" he had been reading and left the library.
He sped up, heading into the classroom of Group B, Class 2.
He found that there were only a few classmates left in the room.
The few who were there were packing up their bags, getting ready to leave.
"No class today?" Chen Yu stopped a student in surprise.
"Didn't you check the class group?" The student yawned, "The tutor has some things to attend to, took a leave."
"Should have asked for leave earlier," another Transcendent passing by grumbled, "We all show up only to be informed."
Chen Yu took out his phone and unlocked the screen.
Sure enough, he saw the female tutor's leave of absence posted in the group. Read new chapters at empire
But in addition to that, his chubby neighbor had sent him a private message.
Wisdom: [Chen Yu! I don't need your help anymore! The tutor is taking me to do a big task with a team of Transcendents. Once it's done, I'll have enough credits. Go make your fortune with your 10 points.]
"A team of Transcendents..."
Chen Yu's eyes lit up instantly.
If he could join them and covertly take a few of them out, wouldn't his "farm" just get that much bigger?
With that thought in mind,
he turned on his heel without hesitation, dashed out of the classroom, up to the second floor, and into the female tutor's office.
Sure enough, he found his chubby neighbor and the full-figured female tutor there.
The two were donning "battle gear," fully equipped for combat.
"Chen Yu?" his neighbor turned around upon hearing the sound, a look of astonishment on his face, "What are you doing here?"
The full-figured female tutor also looked puzzled, "Chen Yu, is there something you need?"
"You're going on a mission?"
"Yes."
"Take me with you," Chen Yu raised his hand, "I want to go too."
"Don't joke around," the female tutor frowned, "This is a group task, D+ level. It's too dangerous. I'm only taking Pang to help him gather credits. You already have enough credits for your graduation assessment, there's no need for you to get involved."
"I want to go," Chen Yu insisted, "Teacher, please sign me up."
"You can't go," the tutor was even more resolute.
"Chen Yu..." Pang stepped forward, a complex expression on his face as he patted Chen Yu on the shoulder, "I know you're worried about me. But if you go, I'll be even more worried about you."
"Fuck off."
"Alright, I swear!" Pang raised two fingers, promising earnestly, "There's nothing but a pure student-teacher relationship between the tutor and me, I won't betray you."
Chen Yu: "...Are you okay? Have you lost your mind?"
"Chen Yu, there's no time to talk," the female tutor buttoned up her olive-green vest, a serious look on her face, "This task is urgent, we need to assemble now."
"Take me with you."
"No!"
"Fine!"
Chen Yu narrowed his eyes, a cold light reminiscent of Guan Yun Chang flashing in them, "Then don't blame me."
"Shit! Let's go! Just ignore him!"
Then with a jump, he enacted several maneuvers like ጿ, ኈ, ቼ, ዽ, ጿ, flipping in the air and landing heavily on the ground.
Afterward, he began to rip his own clothes.
"Snap."
The full-figured female tutor winced, covering her face in pain...
...
"Senior, can we add one more? I'd like to take another student with us," the full-figured female tutor asked a man in a military vest in the Supernatural Function Center's hall half an hour later, "The three of us would make a good small group."
"This mission is quite troublesome," the man in the vest frowned, "It's bad enough you're bringing one burden, now it's two."
"It's okay," the full-figured female tutor pleaded earnestly with her hands together, "We'll be on the periphery, nothing will go wrong. Brother, if you still have a spot, please give us one. The kid is eager to learn."
