Chapter 63: Evil Necromancer
Ely and her disciples immediately got ready to leave. Sakura summoned the elemental and nature spirits in Sacred Mountain. Ely would dispatch her full force to save the four disciples.
Unfortunately, there was someone who was against that idea.
"Eh?" Ely was already sitting on the wind spirit, but Yuuki suddenly picked her up and put her down from there. She then looked up at Yuuki with bewilderment. "W-what?"
"I understand how worried you are, but that's an overkill move. I'll go save them for you." Yuuki shook her head.
"But three are seriously injured, and one is dying." Ely pursed her lips.
"As long as they don't die, they can still be saved. The rescue operation is more effective if we move with a small but strong group."
"What if the enemy is a super powerful evil thing?"
"I am a Great Ascension Realm expert with mythical abilities. No evil thing can threaten me unless the God of the upper realm descends upon this mortal world. I will go with your core disciples. We only have a little time. What's your command, Ely?"
Ely was silent for a moment after Yuuki said that. She could see a resolved gaze in Yuuki's golden foxy eyes.
After she thought about it, Yuuki was truly powerful, and she still couldn't fathom Yuuki's real capabilities.
As an elder, Yuuki also wished to get along with Ely's disciples, and this was a good opportunity to let them get to know each other better.
"Mm, fine. But please bring these talismans and this teleportation crystal. Also, you can track them with this golden amulet. Let me know if the situation gets out of hand. Ah, please also bring these items..." Ely handed over several things to Yuuki. She then glanced at her core disciples.
"Good, thank you." Yuuki received everything. She then rubbed Ely's cheek with a subtle smile on her face.
"???" Ely was clueless about this sudden skinship.
"..." Gabriella frowned slightly. She felt somewhat displeased with this elder snow fox.
"Uuh, what's wrong with her?" Rafaela bit her handkerchief as she felt dissatisfied.
"We don't have much time. We're leaving now." Yuuki summoned her Ice Lotus, and she immediately flew up to the sky.
"Please be careful. Safety is a priority. Save our people and punish the bad guys." Ely waved her hand.
"Please rest easy, master. We will be back before noon." Gabriella bowed slightly, and the other core disciples followed suit.
They climbed into the spiritual clouds and hurriedly followed Elder Yuuki into the sky.
Ely looked up at the sky as she clasped her hands in prayer. She hoped that everything would be fine.
She believed Yuuki and her core disciples could complete this rescue mission flawlessly. While waiting for news, she chose to prepare a few things. Her 140 disciples would help her with that.
It only took a few minutes for the rescue team led by Yuuki to arrive at the location indicated by Ely's golden amulet.
Yuuki checked the hologram map, then scanned her surroundings with magical eyes. It was just a barren rocky mountain, but a secret place existed. "They're underground, a secret dungeon."
"We need to find the entrance. I'm good at this." Azrael squinted his eyes.
"No need. We make our own entrance. Can anyone make a 10-meter-deep entrance through the stone wall over there without causing any noise?" Yuuki pointed at a particular spot on the rock mountain.
"I can do it." Michael raised his fist.
Everyone then descended to the location indicated by Yuuki.
Michael summoned his gauntlet and pressed it against the rock wall. He activated it, and it pulverized the stone wall like mush with no significant noise.
The 10-meter deep hole was created. It led to a dark secret passage inside. Yet, the hole was small enough for one person to crawl through. Not to mention, the hole's wall was still burning hot due to the frictional heat.
Yuuki blew her icy breath and froze the burning stone wall. After that, she slide into the passage through the hole. Ely's core disciples took turns entering the dungeon.
Meanwhile, a cloaked old mage was busy doing a small experiment on several specimens in his underground lab.
Several prisons were located around the lab. Several beasts, humans, demi-humans, and even demons were confined there. They were in a state of serious injury as if waiting for death to pick them up.
"Keke, my black magic... My necromancy will reach the next level if this ritual is successful. If I manage to summon a great devil and make a contract with it, I will reach the world's first S Rank necromancer, hyahaha!" The necromancer laughed in satisfaction as if he was already at the black magic summit.
He had finished setting up the devil summoning magic circle, and there were already some fresh sacrifices as the offerings.
After double-checking the altar, he dragged an injured beast from the prison.
"Growl!"
The beast was slaughtered above the magic circle. The red blood dyed the ground red, but the runes absorbed it a moment later.
The black magic circle turned slightly reddish, making the necromancer grin wider. He then sacrificed several beasts, demons, and then the human.
"Shit looks like I'm going to run out of offerings." The necromancer cursed when he found that he only had six sacrifices left. Still, the magic circle was only half ready for the summoning.
"Are we going to die here?" The dying disciple muttered softly as he tried to prevent his injuries from worsening with his remaining qi.
"As long as we don't meet real death, our master can bring us back to life."
"I've sent a distress signal."
"Uh, they're probably on their way here."
The three seriously injured disciples grinned weakly. They mocked themselves for falling into this pathetic situation, but the enemy was too strong for them to defeat.
Not to mention, the entire ground was filled with treacherous traps and deadly mechanisms. They were unlucky because they explored this dungeon for their treasure hunt.
"..." The nearby people were desperate. They lost all their hope as they knew only death would await them.
"Heh~ you can still grin on your deathbed, huh. Fret not. Your death will bring glory to me. Be happy because you will be part of the history of the rise of an unrivaled necromancer." The necromancer opens the last prison and goes inside with amusement.
He knew these four people were disciples of a particular sect, but he didn't care. All sacrifices were the same in his eyes. However, since the four sect's disciples were still calm and sane, he chose to drag the desperate ones first.
"No, no, please don't kill me!"
"Argh, that hurts!"
The two teenagers groaned in pain. Their bodies were covered in wounds, but the devil in human skin was getting more excited and kept dragging them by their hair to the altar.
"Keke, scream more. Your agony and misery are like a beautiful melody to my ears." The necromancer picked up the bloodstained sword on the table as he licked his lips.
"You devil shall meet your demise once reinforcements get here."
"Not even the Evil Gods can save you if our master arrives here."
The two disciples couldn't help but taunt the necromancer. They hoped to buy some time.
"Heh~ You can still talk arrogantly even though you're dying. You'll end up in agony once it's your turn. I shall torture you first to ensure you lose all your hopes, keke. No one is going to save you." The necromancer exclaimed with a sinister smile from ear to ear.
*Boom!*
The stone wall burst open, and eleven people entered.
"Oh." Yuuki responded briefly. She used her extreme ice to freeze the necromancer without further ado.
"Quick, save them." Gabriella rushed to save the four injured disciples. Rafaela and Remiel soon followed, as they were the only healers on the team.
Their master had entrusted them with four life-saving potions, and the four injured disciples immediately got their first aid.
Rafaela and Remiel used a little healing magic to ensure the injured disciples' conditions when the healing potions did the job from the inside.
Two other people were already dying on the altar. Unfortunately, those two couldn't be saved in time.
"He's not dead yet." Azrael whispered, reminding the powerful elder of the necromancer's situation.
"I know. We will execute him after gathering enough information and evidence." Yuuki went around the gruesome lab. The ground froze at her every step without her realizing it.
This kind of evil black magic and necromancy reminded her of one of her close friends. That devil girl had many types of dark magic, but that devil girl had been acting strangely for the past four years. She still assumed some third-party black magic was affecting that devil girl.
*Crack* *Crack*
The ice started to crack, but Yuuki responded by clenching her hand into a fist towards the ice chunk.
Another crackling noise could be heard, but it was from the necromancer's crushed bone. Yuuki showed no mercy without even batting an eye or changing her expression.
"Wait, please don't kill that demon. We need to interrogate him first. This necromancer is very strange. We need a special technique to actually kill him." Jophiel stood before Yuuki.
Only her master could purify the curse or any evil magic. Her master could also completely kill the evil, a true death. But Yuuki's had no such skill.
