Chapter 17:
Chapter 17: Accept Xiao Ruyi and Make Her Hate Xiao Fan:
After merging with the Supreme Demonic Body, Qin Yan got up from his bed. His body felt sticky and uncomfortable due to the impurities expelled during the transformation, so he decided to take a shower.
As he stepped out of his bedroom, heading toward the bathroom, he noticed Yun Qing and Qin Zhan standing by his door.
Qin Yan blinked in surprise. “What are you two doing here? Why are you standing outside my room?”
Yun Qing, unbothered by his disheveled and dirty appearance, grabbed his hand excitedly. “Yan’er, have you awakened the Supreme Demonic Body?”
Qin Yan nodded. “Yes.”
“Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful!” Yun Qing exclaimed, turning around in excitement, looking as though she might drag someone over to celebrate. Her sudden movement startled Qin Zhan, who instinctively stepped back.
“Well,” Qin Zhan said awkwardly, “since Xiao Yan is fine, I’ll take my leave.”
Qin Yan glanced at his overjoyed mother and said, “Mom, can we talk about this tomorrow? I really need to take a bath.”
Suppressing her excitement, Yun Qing nodded. “Of course, go ahead. Mom will leave now.”
After they left, Qin Yan proceeded to take a long shower. Emerging from the bathroom in a bathrobe, he was about to return to his room when a maid approached him.
“Young Master,” the maid said respectfully, “the girl you brought back has woken up, but she’s crying and causing a fuss. She keeps saying she wants to find her parents.”
Qin Yan initially wanted to ignore Xiao Ruyi but then paused, a sly smirk forming on his lips. “Wait. I’ll go check on her.”
He opened the door and gestured to the maid. “Lead the way.”
The maid escorted him to Xiao Ruyi’s room.
Even before entering, Qin Yan could hear her shouting, “Go away! I’m not eating!” followed by the sound of dishes crashing to the floor.
Qin Yan’s expression darkened.
It was clear Xiao Ruyi hadn’t grasped the gravity of her situation.
Acting like this in the Qin family? She was far too naïve.
Without hesitation, he kicked the door open.
Inside, a maid stood covered in soup and water, surrounded by broken bowls and plates scattered across the floor.
Seeing Qin Yan enter, the maid quickly greeted him. “Young Master.”
Qin Yan acknowledged her with a simple “Hmm,” before fixing his cold gaze on Xiao Ruyi. She froze under his glare, her mind flashing back to the horrific massacre at the Liu family manor earlier that day.
Fear consumed her as she realized that while the maids couldn’t harm her, Qin Yan was different. He would kill without hesitation.
Trembling, she tried to retreat. “Y-you… what are you going to do? Don’t come near me!”
Without a word, Qin Yan stepped forward, grabbed her by the shoulders, and dragged her out of the room. Xiao Ruyi struggled and screamed, “What are you doing? Let me go! I want to see my parents!”
Qin Yan’s voice was cold and unyielding. “Your parents are dead, killed by your brother.”
Xiao Ruyi froze, tears streaming down her face as the words sank in.
Yes, her parents were gone, and it was her brother, Xiao Fan, who had caused their deaths.
Thinking this, a surge of resentment welled up within her.
Her parents had worked tirelessly to support Xiao Fan, only for him to disgrace them by stealing someone else’s fiancée at an engagement party. If not for him, they would still be alive.
Taking advantage of her dazed state, Qin Yan dragged her to his room and shut the door behind them. It wasn’t until she was inside that Xiao Ruyi realized she was alone with him. Panic set in.
“W-what are you going to do?” she stammered.
Qin Yan approached her, lifting her chin with his hand. His voice was low and menacing. “Your brother killed my fiancée. Tell me, how should this debt be repaid?”
Xiao Ruyi’s eyes, wide with fear, looked like those of a frightened deer. “I-I don’t know. I don’t know!” she stuttered.
A smirk played at the corners of Qin Yan’s lips.
Without warning, he pushed her onto the bed. “If you don’t know, then I’ll tell you. And of course, I’ll be compensated. From now on, you’ll take your brother’s place.”
He reached for her, and soon, the sound of tearing fabric filled the room.
…
(The next morning)
Qin Yan awoke to find Xiao Ruyi curled up in his arms like a kitten. Her face was streaked with tears, her red eyes giving her a pitiful appearance.
Yet, Qin Yan felt nothing for her. The only reason he had claimed her was that she was Xiao Fan’s sister. He harbored no feelings for her, and in truth, they were enemies.
Still, the thought of Xiao Fan’s reaction when he discovered his sister in Qin Yan’s bed filled him with satisfaction.
Pushing her aside, Qin Yan sat up. Xiao Ruyi, exhausted from the previous night’s torment, had been lightly sleeping. His movement woke her instantly. She sat up in a panic, clutching the quilt to her chest, her eyes filled with fear.
Ignoring her, Qin Yan dressed and turned to her. “What happened yesterday is over. Your brother didn’t die; he escaped. From now on, you’ll stay here and be my woman. You’ll have everything you need—food, clothing, comfort.”
Xiao Ruyi, too frightened to argue, sniffled and asked timidly, “Can I… can I see my parents?”
Qin Yan didn’t refuse. “Fine. I’ll arrange for someone to take you.”
With that, he left the room. Outside, he spotted a maid. “Prepare some clothes for the girl in my room. Make sure she’s well taken care of,” he ordered.
The maid nodded. “Yes, Young Master.”
As she turned to leave, Qin Yan stopped her. “Wait. Go find Aunt Lan and tell her I need her help.”
The maid quickly obeyed.
Not long after, a woman about Yun Qing’s age arrived. She was beautiful, with a friendly demeanor that masked her sharp wit. This was Qinglan, known as Aunt Lan, Yun Qing’s loyal maid and childhood companion. A descendant of humans and demon foxes, she possessed an allure that was hard to resist.
“You called for me, Young Master?” Aunt Lan asked.
Qin Yan nodded. “The girl in my room is Xiao Fan’s sister, Xiao Ruyi. I want you to spend time with her, talk to her, and make her despise her brother. Plant a hatred so deep that she’ll want to kill him the moment they meet.”
