Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Uncle Wagner

"Also, most of them are just ordinary people, low-level. Going into the wild alone would be too dangerous.

Unless they go in teams—but right now, the Knights of Favonius are short-staffed. There's no way to form that kind of squad.

Besides, most knights know it's dangerous outside Mondstadt lately, so honestly, most of them aren't too keen on taking on field missions."

Paimon muttered, "If they're not willing to do anything, then what good are they?"

"You can't say that. When it comes to maintaining order in Mondstadt, they're actually very capable.

And anyway, fear is natural. Even I get scared sometimes when I run into monsters out there."

Zephyr nodded. "That's true. That time we chased that weird bird... it surrounded me in no time."

Suddenly, something occurred to him. "Wait—are you saying there are no solo knights patrolling outside Mondstadt right now?"

"Not exactly. There might be the occasional knight out doing reconnaissance. After all, there's no way I could cover everything by myself."

"Do you know someone named Jess?"

Zephyr thought of the cold, indifferent knight he had run into before.

"Jess? Doesn't ring a bell. There are tons of people in the Knights—I don't know everyone. Why do you ask?"

Zephyr recounted the story of his encounter with the knight.

Amber was shocked—then angry. "What?! He saw you being attacked by Hilichurls and didn't do anything?! That's completely against the principles of a knight!"

Paimon added, "But he didn't seem scared, though."

"Yeah, I checked—he was level 20. Dealing with that group of Hilichurls should've been a breeze."

"Level 20? That's considered pretty strong in the Knights. But why…? I'll look into this at the Knight's headquarters later."

The night passed without incident.

The next morning, Amber said, "Well, I'm off!"

"Safe travels."

Amber turned to the Traveler with concern. "While I'm gone, just stay home, okay? Don't run off anywhere."

"Don't worry, I won't."

"If you really get bored, you can walk around nearby, but don't go too far. And don't go picking fights with people, either."

"You make it sound like I go out of my way to bully people or something…"

"That's not what I meant… Oh right, what about lunch? I left some Mora on the table—go grab something outside to eat.

It's a shame I have work today, otherwise I could've cooked something special for you myself."

"It's fine, really. You go take care of your stuff."

"Alright, then I'm off."

"Byebye~"

As Amber walked off, Lumine muttered, "Amber's like a worried mom—leaving a list of instructions for everything."

Paimon added, "She feels more like a married wife, stuck with a useless husband who does nothing all day but eat, drink, and laze around.

She's forced to go out and work to support the household, and this deadbeat husband is still flirting around with other women.

If Paimon were Amber, Paimon did have gone dark side already."

Zephyr snorted, "And what role are you playing? My kid? Be good and call me 'dad.'"

"Ptui!"

Lumine asked, "So what are we doing today?"

Paimon said, "Eat, drink, and play, of course."

Zephyr rolled his eyes. "Wow, and you had the nerve to mock me earlier?"

Ahem..."

Zephyr grinned excitedly. "Of course we're going to hunt monsters and grind levels!"

"Aww, seriously? Fighting monsters again? That's all we ever do! Can't we take a day off?"

"Nope!"

Lumine asked, "Zephyr, can my weapon be upgraded now?"

Ah, right—her weapon wasn't leveled up that much.

Zephyr remembered the weapon enhancement level was only 10. Back in the Jujutsu Kaisen world, there were no crystal ores, so they couldn't upgrade weapons.

Now that they were back in Teyvat, they could finally do something about that.

"Alright, let's go find the Ore Uncle."

"He's a blacksmith, not 'Ore Uncle'!"

Though it was still morning, the blacksmith's shop was already bustling.

Uncle Wagner was working diligently, fully immersed in his craft.

Zephyr stepped forward and said, "Hello."

But Uncle Wagner remained completely absorbed in his work.

A young man nearby spoke up, "Hey, you! Don't you know how to follow the rules?"

"Huh?"

"I'm Schulz, apprentice to Master Wagner. What are you here for? Buying weapons or something?"

"I'll take a look at your weapons first."

"If you're here to buy weapons, just talk to me. Don't disturb Master while he's working."

"What kind of weapons do you have here?"

"We've got plenty—swords, bows, magic tomes, you name it. We've got cheap one-star weapons, and better-quality two-star ones. What are you looking for?"

"Got any five-star weapons?"

Schulz twitched at the corner of his mouth. Ahem, sir, please don't joke like that. Five-star weapons are legendary—they're considered divine artifacts. Of course, we don't have any of those."

"What about four-star weapons?"

"Nope, none of those either."

Zephyr muttered, "You say you've got everything, but you don't have anything."

Schulz clenched his fists. "You're just looking for trouble, aren't you? Keep it up and I'll sock you!"

Suddenly, a voice came from the side—Wagner spoke up, "We don't have any ready-made four-star weapons, but if you bring the materials, we can custom craft one."

"Oh? So you've made them before?"

Schulz quickly chimed in, "Of course! Master Wagner is the most renowned blacksmith in all of Mondstadt. He's made at least ten four-star weapons. Of course he has!"

"Young man, what kind of weapon do you want to make? Let me say this first—my craftsmanship is top-notch, but the price isn't cheap. Be prepared."

At first, Wagner hadn't paid him much mind, assuming he was just another wealthy adventurer. But then, when he saw the sword on Zephyr's back, he froze, eyes widening in disbelief. "Y-You… That weapon on your back… is that the Sacrificial Sword?"

That famous weapon?

Schulz was confused. "What? Master, the Sacrificial Sword? Are you serious?"

"I'm not so old I can't trust my own eyes. Young man, may I take a look at your sword?"

"Sure, why not."

The sword was already equipped anyway—letting someone look wouldn't hurt; they couldn't take it.

Wagner exclaimed, "It really is the Sacrificial Sword!"

Schulz gasped, "It actually is the Sacrificial Sword?! That's incredible!"

Paimon asked, puzzled, "Why are you all so shocked? It's just a sword, isn't it?"

Schulz replied, Just a sword? That's the Sacrificial Sword we're talking about! Even though Master can forge four-star weapons, there's still a big difference in quality among them.

And without question, the Sacrificial Sword is the strongest and most practical among all four-star weapons! Legend has it, it was passed down through an ancient family.

But how did you end up with it?"

Zephyr said casually, "Oh, you mean this one?"

Then he casually pulled out another sword. "I've got plenty of these."

Wagner and Schulz both nearly popped their eyes out. "T-This can't be…"

"This one's the Sacrificial Greatsword, this one's the Dragonspine Spear, and this is…"

"W-Wait, how do you have so many legendary weapons!?"

Paimon crossed her arms proudly. "Behold—the world-hopping traveler standing before you! Future Supreme Overlord, Hilichurl Slayer, Savior of the World… the Great Traveler!"

Zephyr applauded. "Nice one, Paimon. I'll get you an extra chicken drumstick later."

The two blacksmiths were stunned speechless.

Then Wagner burst into hearty laughter. "Interesting, very interesting! It's been ages since I met such a fascinating customer. So, did you come to me to have a weapon forged?"

"No, no, I actually came to buy Mystic Enhancement Ore. Do you have any?"

"Mystic Enhancement Ore? Of course I do—this is a blacksmith shop, after all. Ore is the foundation of all weapon crafting."

Zephyr said, "That's great to hear. Honestly, I want to level up my Sacrificial Sword, so I need a huge amount of materials and ores."

Wagner replied, "Oh? Young man, you know, upgrading a weapon of that level requires countless resources. Once it reaches a certain threshold, you'll even need rare materials from specific ruins to break through to the next level. Are you aware of that?"

"I am."

Schulz added, Ahem, what Master means is—it's going to cost a lot of Mora. You got the cash for that?"

"Of course I do. If there's one thing I've got in abundance, it's money."

"I want to upgrade it to level 90. Do you have the materials for that?"
