Mumen Rider in MHA

Chapter 123: Chapter 123 : Collision Course

Silence.

Kana's ears rang from the earlier blast, her vision foggy from the smoke and dust. She couldn't move. Her arms curled around her mother's limp body, shielding her with what little strength she had left.

In front of her, the monster took a single step forward.

All For One's hand lifted, crackling with dark, writhing energy.

All Might was still shackled in tendrils, body straining against their grip, every inch of him trembling with fury and helplessness. "No…!"

"This," All For One said softly, with dreadful calm, "is how peace ends."

Kana closed her eyes.

And then—

CRASH.

A blur of green and steel streaked across the plaza. Tires shrieked against fractured pavement. A battered bicycle, thrown like a bullet, slammed directly into All For One's ribs.

The villain staggered, caught off guard. His attack veered sideways, exploding into a storefront. The shockwave shattered windows down the block.

Kana flinched, ears ringing. She curled tighter around her unconscious mother. Smoke billowed across the ground.

Then a shape emerged from it—

A lone figure, armor dented, one lens of his goggles shattered, his helmet cracked. His chest rose and fell in ragged bursts. Dust streaked his shoulders, bits of debris clung to his knees.

But he stood.

Between them and the monster.

Satoru Kojima.

Mumen Rider.

Kana blinked, stunned. "...You…?"

He didn't turn to face her. Didn't speak to the cameras or the crowd or even to himself.

He just stood there.

A human wall.

The world held its breath.

TV Broadcast — Emergency Network Feed

"Who is that?! Who just—" "Wait, zoom in— Is that... is that Helmet Guy?!" "That's Mumen Rider! What is he doing there?!" "He's… he's standing between All For One and those civilians."

Hospital Wing – Sayaka POV

Sayaka dropped the clipboard in her hand.

The screen in the breakroom had cut away from the burning skyline just in time to show the bike collision. She pressed her hands to her lips, heart in her throat.

"No," she whispered. "No, no, no—"

Then the camera zoomed in. The cracked helmet. The familiar armor. The way he stood.

Her knees gave out. A younger nurse caught her by the shoulder.

"That idiot," Sayaka whispered, tears spilling. "That absolute idiot."

---

Flower Shop – Miyako POV

Miyako stood behind the shop counter. The petals she'd been trimming fell, forgotten, onto the floor.

The TV behind the counter crackled with the live feed. She recognized the dented armor. The broken lens. The stance like a stubborn weed refusing to wilt.

"Satoru…?" she breathed.

Her chest ached. Her hands trembled.

"Don't…" she whispered. "Don't do this."

---

Evac Center – Keiko POV

Keiko was ushering children into shelters when the gasps started.

She turned. A portable screen mounted on a wall showed a shaky live feed.

A man standing alone in front of All For One.

Her heart sank.

She hadn't seen that expression on his face in years. Not since their mother gets hospitalised.

"You stubborn boy," she muttered, clutching her sleeves. "Please… please be careful."

On the Battlefield

All For One turned slowly, brushing cracked debris from his shoulder.

He stared at the figure now between him and his targets. That shattered helmet. That defiant stance. The slight wobble of his knees—but the unshakable resolve in his spine.

"You," AFO said, almost amused. "I recognize that helmet. That ridiculous voice. You're the one who keeps standing."

Satoru didn't flinch.

His breathing was heavy, but controlled.

"That's me," he said.

AFO tilted his head. "You're quirkless."

"Yeah," Satoru said. "That's what makes this fair."

Kana stared, wide-eyed, still frozen. Her hands clenched her mother's coat. Her heartbeat thundered in her ears.

Was he insane?

Or was he the bravest person she'd ever met?

The camera drones hovered. Recording every second.

People watching around the country held their breath. Even those who mocked him. Even those who thought he was just some street-level wannabe.

Because there he was—standing before evil incarnate. Alone.

"Even if I can't win," Satoru said, fists clenched, armor rattling with every breath, "I'll fight you."

"Because that's what heroes do."
