Chapter 5: chapter 5
Three weeks later.
In the middle of the night where darkness surrounds everything, heavy footsteps can be heard in the hall of the hospital, but suddenly it slowed down when a calm and beautiful sound start emitting slowly. It was supposed to be quiet, everyone should be asleep.
' Who is this?'
Notes of Ludovico Einaudi's "Nuvole Bianche" skipped in the air within the spacious room of the hospital, as Mary's fingers danced across the piano keys.
Faith watched her sister playing the piano so skillfully, so elegantly, and so beautifully.
She looked like a fairy as she swayed, especially with the picturesque view of the city's night lights outside the glass windows behind her.
Ever since Mary was able to move her body after the painful physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions, she asked for her piano. When she began playing the piano, at first, she only played simple pieces and the notes were discordant because she was still too weak. But as she gradually became stronger, the pieces she played became more complicated, but also more skillful and mesmerizing.
It was different from the first time she had an accident. At that time Mary was soulless. However, ever since she opened her eyes this time, she was different. The light that was long gone, is now shining in her eyes every time she blinks. Seeing her like that, Faith was relieved, but felt goosebumps, especially when she saw that look in her eyes, determination, and ….rage.
Now Mary was more or less recovered, walking and doing things by herself without help. Her medical team was amazed at the speed of her recovery. Her stamina and muscles were still lacking, but they only needed time to gradually return to how they used to be before the first accident. Everyone felt the difference in her but no one was able to discover it. She was the same, but the aura around her was different. No one knew the reason other than her, and that was because of her memory recovery.
Yes, the emptiness that she felt back then, now is gone. It's filled with her memories, her thoughts, her self, and not the fake one that people told her to be. Now she was back
MARIANA KAY IS BACK!
Back to the present, as Faith was engrossed in her thoughts, and Mary with her music, no one noticed the dark shadow that was leaning across the door.
