Sorry for the delay over the last few days, guys.

Jack said to Cade, "Uncle Cade, you won't even let me hold it?"
"Think about Tessa," Cade snorted, stepping cautiously along the anchor cable.
Jack stepped onto the rope effortlessly, his expression calm, almost peaceful—as if walking on solid ground.
Tessa clung tightly to Jack's neck, her heart racing as she looked down. The ground below felt impossibly far. But as she felt the warmth radiating from Jack—no, Wu Yang—the fear slowly melted away. Somehow, she knew he would protect her.
Then a strange realization struck her. When did I start thinking like this? Trusting that he would protect her? Why do I even believe that? He was arrogant, rude, borderline evil!
She couldn't understand herself. She used to like Sean—liked him a lot. Was she just a terrible person?
Sean… Sean was gone. He had died right in front of her. Tessa's eyes welled up with guilt and sorrow. He came here for her, and now—because of her—he was dead.
"Sean is dead," Tessa whispered.
Jack immediately put on a sorrowful face. "Really? That's… such a tragedy. What a fine young man, taken so early." Hypocrite. Murderer.
"He died right in front of me. I… I killed him," she said softly.
"Do you feel guilty?"
"Yes."
Jack decided it was time to pretend to comfort her. "Honestly, it's my fault too. I called him. I told him you were in Chicago. I shouldn't have done that. If I hadn't, he might still be alive."
Tessa shook her head. "No. You didn't kill him. Maybe… maybe it was fate." Even though deep down, she did blame him.
"Tessa, if you believe in fate, then don't blame yourself. Sean wouldn't want that. I bet even in heaven, he'd wish for your happiness." Jack's voice was gentle—eerily convincing.
"I know… but I still—"
"Tessa, you don't need to say anything more," Jack interrupted, putting on his most tender expression. "Leave everything to me. Don't think about anything else. I'll protect you. I'll give you warmth… and happiness." Of course, he was faking every word.
Tessa nodded slowly. "Okay… I understand." Why do I feel happy? she wondered. What's wrong with me? I used to hate him. Now I want to stay close to him… I really am changing.
Su Yueming gave Jack a disgusted look. "Can you not be so revolting? You're making me nauseous. I don't even know what's going on, but I gather that poor guy Shawn died… and you're over here acting like this is a rom-com."
Jack looked pained. "Hey, how could you say that? Sean's death deeply saddens me."
"I believe in Wu Yang," Tessa said suddenly.
"You believe in this guy? Girl, are you feeling okay?" Su Yueming rolled her eyes. "Do you even know how evil he is?"
"No matter what kind of person he is… I just know he'll protect me."
Su Yueming sighed. "Ugh. Fine, whatever."
Suddenly, an awful, screeching howl pierced the air.
"What was that?" Tessa asked, alarmed.
"Sounds like trouble," Jack said casually.
Behind the anchor rope, five Cybertron wolves came into view, snarling and climbing toward them along the cables.
"They're coming! We're not moving fast enough!" Su Yueming shouted, looking back.
"Uncle Cade! Hurry! The wolves are gaining on us!"
"I know, I know!" Cade yelled, trying to move faster—but the cable ahead was thinner, and he couldn't risk falling.
One Cybertron wolf leaped toward Jack.
"Hold on!" Jack shouted. He leapt sideways, crossing over to a parallel cable.
"Ahh!" Tessa and Su Yueming shrieked in unison. Their hearts nearly stopped.
The lunging wolf missed its target and plummeted—but not before sinking its steel teeth into the cable, snapping it clean in two.
Both Su Yueming and Tessa broke out in cold sweat at the sight of the broken cable swinging wildly.
"We need to speed up!" Jack called. He jogged forward, reaching the point where only one cable remained.
"Wu Yang, are you sure about this?" Tessa asked, voice trembling.
"Trust me," Jack said calmly, placing one foot in front of the other.
Su Yueming, who usually radiated strength, was now pale. "If you drop me, I'll haunt you forever."
"Dad, hurry!" Tessa shouted again.
"I know, just go! Don't wait for me!"
The remaining Cyberwolves gave up chasing Jack directly. Instead, they began biting the cables—one after another.
Clang. Clang.
The cables snapped, one by one.
"Ahh!" Cade yelled as the cable beneath him gave way. He fell.
"Dad!" Tessa screamed, helpless as she watched him plummet.
"Tessa…"
Jack watched him fall. Uncle Cade… it's time to say goodbye. Don't worry, I'll take care of your daughter. You can rest in peace—heh—what a dark thought.
But then, Jack felt the rope beneath his own feet snap.
"Too sad," he muttered sarcastically.
Both Tessa and Su Yueming screamed, "AHHH!"
"Hold onto my neck tight, or I'm not responsible if you die!" Jack shouted, grabbing onto a swinging cable with one hand.
The broken line swung wildly toward a building. The women screamed as they sped through the air.
"Feels like a roller coaster, doesn't it?" Jack yelled over the wind.
"You lunatic! We're gonna crash!" Su Yueming screamed as they hurtled toward the building's glass exterior.
"Relax. We'll be fine," Jack said—right before releasing the cable.
But momentum was a cruel thing.
"Tessa, let go of my neck. Trust me!" Jack shouted.
"I trust you!" Tessa responded, letting go just in time for Jack to grab her arm and pull her in front of him.
"Ha!" Jack twisted midair, putting his back toward the glass.
Boom!
Jack's back smashed into the glass window. It shattered into pieces, and all three of them fell through into the building.
