Chapter 4350: Bloodline+ Ancestral Power II

CLANG CLANG CLANG!

Its attacks kept coming, and they were faster by the second and a lot trickier.

It isn't just powerful but also skillful. It is using that well its method, the one he is using right now, that would turn its blade to phase out tens of times in a fraction of a seconds.

Usually, such skills couldn't do anything against me, but this one forced me to concentrate on everything.

"If anything, you are quite good at defending. I wonder, how long will you be able to keep up?" it asked, attacking me once more. "As long as it takes," I replied, looking straight into its amber eyes.

"It won't be long," it said with a grin before increasing its power further.

I looked at the bloodline aura spreading far and wide and immediately increased the burst to 50%.

CLANNG!

I had just done it when its shimmering rapier came at me and struck hard against my blade, sending me back a couple of steps.

It followed me right after and attacked again, which I could barely defend before attacking again.

The bastard is more powerful than I had thought. It is making me kind of panic. Especially when I saw the dense cover of soul sense around it.

It had not sensed my strings earlier, but it had spooked it. Making it very cautious.

Seeing it, I didn't move the strings toward it. There is a good chance that it will discover it, and I will lose the only definite card I have.

I have to survive this battle and need to make every decision with as much cautiousness as possible.

It is hard; every thought of me wants me to use the strings, but this time, it won't work. I will need to use that different way to work, and I don't know what.

I am just fighting while thinking about it.

At least Kanxin is doing well. She couldn't injure the Grimms, but she was fighting against them equally.

She had taken her comprehension high enough, that Carter would be shocked, and there would be consequences.

I pushed those thoughts away; I do not need to think about them. I will do it if I survive and return to the Taurus City alive.

CLANNG!

A minute passed, and I defended another of its attacks, but there was frustration and anger. It shows some of those emotions, but they were in its eyes before the battle began.

No change had been brought in them by this battle.

The Foxman are good at hiding their emotions, among other things. They are one of the most dangerous of the Grimms, and I count them the second most dangerous tribe in my list.

Seconds passed, and its attack condition toward me was not stopping.

It's like it wants to tire me out with its continued assault.

"You should understand the difference of power between us. If I were you, I would have given up. If you do it and hand over the key, I promise you, I will give you the quick death," it offered.

To that, I smiled.

"Thank you for the offer. I wish I could give you the same offer, but I couldn't. You will die, and your death will be horrible,"

"It won't matter if you surrender or die; the result would be the same. You will die with regret of ever being born," I replied.

"I like the spunk, I hope. You will not lose it when I will eat you alive," he said.

I didn't reply to that, and I kept fighting.

Even now, I am taking a step back with every attack. I had improved my defense against such power, but not enough to fight without taking a step back.

Things are slightly better in my core. The deep knowledge of bloodline energy is coming in handy.

My clones are improving, and my defense against the deadly combination of the bloodline and ancestral power is improving. It is not as good as I liked, but they did not let it reach the limit.

I consider it a victory, but I am not getting complacent about it. I know how dangerous things are and how quickly my defenses could reach the limit.

"It seemed like I need to get serious to kill you!" it said, and a powerful aura burst out.

It was so powerful that it stopped the battle between Kanxin and the other two.

'Fuck!' I cursed in my heart and took the burst to 90% from the 50%. There is no choice. I wouldn't be able to deal with such power if I didn't.

"Let, see you defend now!" it challenged and came at me with the roaring sword.

Yes, its rapier is roaring. There is a dense swirl of energy, and it makes a sound like a roar. There is a soul element in it that will affect those with inadequately powerful soul defenses.

Immediately, the lines of energy covered my sword, and I moved it to defend against it.

CLANNNG!

The swords clashed, and I felt like a roaring mountain had hit me.

Puh!

I vomited the blood and moved back fast speed, barely able to stop myself from shooting back.

For the first time, his expression changed. A surprise appeared on its face, but that didn't stop it from attacking almost instantly.

CLANNNG!

I barely defended and moved back even faster while runes in my body lit up to help manage the face.

My armor is under immense strain. The energies have really come close to the limit. If they reached it and went above it, they would leak inside me.

I shuddered even at the thought of that. A small amount of ancestral energy had nearly killed me the last time.

This time, it is mixed with the bloodline energy. That is a deadly dose I don't want in my body.

CLANNNG CLANNNG CLANNNG!

It attacked once more and then again. It kept attacking without stopping while announce flashed in its eyes.

It didn't think I would last for so long, but I have.

That is nothing to celebrate. It still hasn't used its full strength, and it is immense.

It scares me the most, making me think about survival rather than killing it, which I think most when fighting against the Grimms.
