Miracle Summoner

Chapter 1949: -1908- The extreme devotion

The difference between formal contracts and temporary contracts is apparent.

A temporary contract, as the name suggests, is simply a temporary agreement. The contract between both parties automatically dissolves once the purpose of the contract is achieved, whether they want it or not.

In the past, temporary contracts were commonly used when the parties involved did not trust each other but had a shared goal, necessitating cooperation.

Once the contract is formed, it is based solely on that single goal. Both parties enjoy the legitimacy and enforceability of the contract, but once the goal is achieved, the contract is automatically dissolved, with no lingering effects.

In the current situation, servants who form temporary contracts with Rozen will maintain the contract only until the singularity is successfully repaired. The master of Chaldea and the servants of the singularity have a common goal of repairing and stabilizing the singularity, so their temporary contract will automatically last until the repair is completed. Once the singularity is fixed, the contract will dissolve, and the servants will return to the "Throne" to fulfill their mission.

On the other hand, formal contracts are different.

A formal contract only dissolves under special conditions, such as if the circumstances do not allow for it. For example, in the Holy Grail War, the contract between masters and servants will remain until the ritual ends. Even if the Command Spells are used up and the binding force is lost, the contract will still continue until the ritual is finished and no more magic power is provided to the servants, at which point they will return to the "Throne."

If the master can solve the problem of magic power, the contract can continue until the servant is killed or eliminated.

If Rozen had formed a formal contract with Serenity instead of a temporary one, even after the singularity was repaired, the contract would not end. Because the contract would be maintained by Chaldea's summoning system, the contract would only end if Chaldea's system stopped supplying magic or ceased functioning. If Rozen continued to provide magic on his own, Serenity would remain in the current world as his servant.

In other words, once a formal contract is made, Serenity would not only be a servant met in this singularity but would also return with Rozen to Chaldea.

Up until now, Rozen had only formed formal contracts with Mash. Altera, however, had entered into the highest-level absolute contract with Rozen, one that even Rozen cannot break. They share life and death, and unless Rozen perishes, Altera will always be by his side, an even higher-level mystery than the formal contract.

Now, Serenity actually proposed a formal contract, which surprised Rozen.

After all, Rozen had encountered many singularities, some of which included servants like Jeanne d'Arc and Scathach, with whom he had excellent relationships. Yet, none of them had actively proposed a formal contract.

They adhered to the principles of servants, completing their summoned missions before withdrawing, not interfering with the world or the passage of time, merely acting as tools. This shows that most servants have high self-awareness and don't easily propose formal contracts.

In contrast, Serenity, who had just met Rozen today, actually proposed a formal contract?

"Are you serious?"

Rozen looked at Serenity with a changed expression.

Serenity, meeting his gaze, nodded without hesitation.

"Yes, I want to stay with Rozen-sama. I don't want to leave you."

Serenity spoke from the heart.

Not for the sake of humanity, nor for the world, but solely for Rozen, Serenity made this decision.

This was Hassan of Serenity: calm yet fervently devoted. This was not a casual statement.

Rozen could tell from Serenity's behavior that her intentions were resolute.

This made Rozen feel awkward.

Although there were very disciplined servants, once they entered a contract with a master, they would protect them with their lives and follow all their orders. But this was mostly based on morality, principles, ideology, and methods, not because they had any deep feelings for the master upon being summoned.

Naturally, with such disciplined servants, there were also unruly ones, those who, once summoned, immediately killed their master or tortured them for fun. There were plenty of such rebellious servants.

As for Serenity, if she had been summoned, she would have tested whether her summoner would die if they touched her. If they didn't die, Serenity would protect them at any cost, even if it meant burning her own life.

But if they died, Serenity might feel disappointed or regretful, but she would not dwell on it or suffer.

After all, she was the leader of the Assassin sect, with countless souls in her hands. How could she care about trivial lives?

However, Serenity's passion was sudden and intense. For her, it was only natural, but for Rozen, he had just met her, knew nothing about her, and had no idea what kind of servant she was. To receive such intense feelings from her was, of course, unsettling.

In relationships, the more eager and intense party can easily scare the other.

This situation could be described in this way.

Thus...

"You should hold off on making that decision for now," Rozen said with a calm smile. "Let's first form a temporary contract, and we can discuss the formal contract later."

"Yes..." Serenity, though somewhat regretful and disappointed, didn't argue and respected Rozen's decision.

In any case, Serenity had already decided. The purpose of her current existence was tied to this person.

If no formal contract was made, then in the final battle of this singularity, she would offer her life for him, dying on the battlefield and ensuring Rozen's success. That would also be a fine choice.

Without fail, Rozen would never have guessed that Serenity's devotion was so extreme and unwavering.

"Clang!"

With the flash of a contract formation array, the contract between Rozen and Serenity was successfully established.

"Ah…"

At the same time, Serenity let out a seductive moan, making Rozen almost lose his composure.

But Serenity was also caught up in the moment.

A surge of magical energy flowed into her body, causing her entire form to radiate magical power.

At this moment, Serenity's capabilities were greatly enhanced.

"Hm?"

At that moment, Rozen noticed a figure walking by not far away.

"Jeanne?"

It was none other than Jeanne [Alter].

Seeing this, Rozen spoke to Serenity, who was still immersed in her power boost.

"Familiarize yourself with your new power. I'll be right back."

After saying that, Rozen chased after Jeanne [Alter].

"Rozen-sama!"

Serenity finally snapped out of her reverie, wanting to chase after him. But remembering Rozen's instruction, she reluctantly stopped, taking three steps before turning back repeatedly as she walked away.

She indeed needed to familiarize herself with her newfound strength.
