Miracle Summoner

Chapter 1944: -1903- The truth of the holy lance

"Holy Lance...?"

At this moment, many people were stunned, their gazes turning to Rozen.

Except for Artoria [Alter].

Rozen glanced at Artoria [Alter]'s back, then turned his gaze to Lancelot.

"You should know what the Holy Lance is, right? Knight of the Lake?"

Rozen spoke these words.

"..."

Lancelot fell silent instantly.

Before anyone else could speak, Rozen began to explain.

"In King Arthur's treasure vault, there are various weapons that exist only in legends."

"Among them, there's the sword of kings, which was stolen by the rebellious knight Mordred."

"There's also the Holy Lance, now in the hands of the Lion King."

"Although King Arthur has always used the Holy Sword, there were times when he wielded this Holy Lance."

"For example, in the final battle with Mordred, King Arthur used this Holy Lance to pierce Mordred's body and defeat her."

Rozen said as such.

"And the last time, during the battle in the Holy City, the Lion King drew this Lance against me."

From the moment the Lion King drew the spear, Rozen's Mind's Eye saw it.

He saw the fluctuation of the world and sensed the divine aura on the Holy Lance.

So, Rozen immediately understood.

"Legend has it that, on the far ocean to the west of the Isle of Britain, there is a pillar of light that has stood at the horizon, a place that no one has ever reached. People call it the edge of the world, and the light pillar is a tower, a tower that stands at the end of the world."

Rozen's voice slowly spread.

"The End Tower is the anchor of the storm that ties the stars, a pillar that pierces through the world and binds the world's surface."

In the past, there was a theory that the world humans live in is merely a surface layer of the world, where the physical laws allow human existence. If the surface were to detach, the world would return to its original form.

This surface layer is tied together by a series of towers spread across the land, allowing human civilization to thrive.

These towers are located in places humans can never reach.

That place is the end of the world.

That tower is the End Tower.

Once the tower disappears, the human world will also disappear, leading to the true end of the world.

One of these towers is located at the far ocean to the west of the Isle of Britain.

"The Tower of the End is impossible to reach, and no one can touch it, but the tower needs a caretaker to maintain its existence. So, the tower projects itself, turning into a weapon that can be wielded by an individual, making the wielder the caretaker of the End Tower, able to directly use the tower's power."

By now, Rozen's explanation was clear.

"That projection of the Tower of the End is the Holy Lance wielded by King Arthur — Rhongomyniad."

Rozen revealed the truth.

"The true form of this spear is the tower that binds the world's surface. Though it is restricted by thirteen shackles, limiting its full power, it is still capable of making the light that praises the stars shine, a spear equal to the holy sword of the star that is said to have once saved the world."

Thus, when the spear was drawn, the world naturally experienced a fluctuation.

Because it was the anchor of the storm that bound the world's surface, and when it was drawn, a storm naturally rose. If the spear's true form were to be drawn out, the world's surface would be exposed, and the winds from it would destroy all civilizations on the surface, returning the world to its beginning.

"Perhaps the Lion King has always been King Arthur, for she abandoned the Holy Sword, which could stop her from growing, and transformed from a youthful king into an age that truly matched a king's identity. However, she was also assimilated by the Holy Lance, becoming the master of the Tower of the End and evolving into a goddess."

Divinities are inherently part of nature, a part of the world. The Holy Lance, as the End Tower, is an anchor of the storm that maintains the world's surface. It is naturally a column of light, intimately connected to the world and nature.

As such, holding this spear and being assimilated by its divine aura, becoming the master of the End Tower, elevating to divinity, is a perfectly normal outcome.

Thanks to this, King Arthur lost her humanity and gained divinity, becoming a god who gazes down upon humanity, judging individuals and the human race, with the power of the tower.

After understanding this, Rozen also fully understood the Lion King's plan.

"I've always wondered, what kind of existence is the Holy City? Why does it seem to be isolated, completely cut off from the outside world, with buildings that resist destruction and magical detection, unable to be damaged? Even my Beast Vassals, with mere destructive power, couldn't break its walls unless they had special abilities."

Rozen said.

"Until I saw the Lion King's Holy Lance, I finally understood. The Holy City is actually the shell of the Holy Lance. It is the manifestation of the Tower of the End, which the Lion King summoned after releasing the true form of the Holy Lance."

In other words, the interior of the Holy City is the End Tower.

The Lion King summoned the End Tower here, using it to shelter those with pure and good souls.

The problem lies here.

"The Lion King wants to shelter humans with pure and good souls in the Tower, to preserve the human race's fire. But that tower is the End Tower, whose function is to bind the world's surface, not to preserve human life."

Rozen said coldly.

"If I'm not mistaken, the humans who are sheltered there will be absorbed into the tower as 'good humans' when the Tower of the End truly appears, and they will abandon their activity and form, becoming pure samples, preserved inside the tower."

"In other words, those chosen by the Holy Selection are not entering a utopia."

"They're just entering a display case, becoming specimens labeled 'humans.'"

Upon hearing this, everyone gasped.

Is this true?

Is this really the Lion King's true goal?

"Isn't it perfectly normal?" Rozen said sarcastically. "We humans can create animal specimens, so it's not strange for a god to create human specimens. From a god's perspective, it's entirely normal."

Exactly.

Most humans don't find it cruel to preserve animals as specimens.

The same applies to gods.

To them, humans are no different from animals.

"Perhaps, King Arthur has known this all along," Rozen said. "After all, it's her Lance."

Rozen's words caused everyone to turn to Artoria [Alter].

But then, Rozen spoke again.

"And judging by how unfazed you are, you must know this too, right, Knight of the Lake?"

His words made everyone turn to Lancelot.

They looked at Lancelot, who, with a face as still as water, showed no signs of surprise.
