Chapter 655 The Dream from the old days-Second Half
Then, her memory was fuzzy; in her dream, she fought bravely with the monster of the sea that looked like an alligator that she had seen in the garden of some noble who had brought that strange animal from Egypt here.
In the dream, she was bitten many times. She lost her limbs, but her limbs continued to regenerate. Each time it did, she lost a lot of strength, but in the end, she won… she won against the monster.
After an unknown amount of time, she regains consciousness, her form distorted, her body fused with the monster, and her lover half fused with the shell-like structure that connected to the monster's head. She can control the beast.
The monster's body is larger than anything she could've seen, larger than an entire Roman Emperor's palace. The monster dives deep into the sea; nothing can obstruct the beast and her who is controlling it. She felt deep joy when soaking herself within the midst of the sea dept. But she still feels a pang of hunger… her hunger is so intense that she eats a lot of fish, but it still doesn't satisfy her.
She had eaten many raw fish, but she didn't feel any disgusting. She felt like it was normal for her. But the hunger is still growing stronger and stronger. She tried controlling the monster and making it eat a school of fish. Her hunger seems to be lessened a bit, but she is still not satisfied… she needs to find something more significant than a school of fish… a whale?
While the girl contemplated what to eat next and where to find it in this vast sea, at this moment, she noticed the shadow above an armada of ships wading through the sea toward the land on the other side. If she remembers correctly, the other side should be Egypt.
She controlled the monster to swim to the corner of the ship Armada, avoiding the ship to see what this was about. She used her human body to see what those ships were. And then she saw it… the banner. It's the hateful banner of the Visigoth and in the middle of the ship Armada. There is a banner of the King of Visigoth, King Alaric.
Suddenly, anger clutches her heart, but more than anger, she feels envious, so much envy toward the King, despite ruining her life and killing the people chasing her. The reward of that is to indulge in riches and spoil from the agony of the Roman people! She hates it! And she also envies the position of the King, the power that the man in this position holds!
Before anything comes to her mind, dark thoughts invade her reason. The monster she controls follows its instinct and swims toward the Armada. Then it opens its wide mouth and chomps down on the nearest chip!
Boooooom! Crash!
The ship was cut in half from the power of the monster's massive jaw. The soldiers and crew on board the vessel that was too slow to abandon the ship were eaten in the process. The hunger was getting less, but the rage was intensified.
The entire Armada was alarmed by the massive monster. Suddenly, the sky darkens, and the sea churns as the wind and lighting descend onto the chaotic scene.
The monster devastated the Armada; no blades, arrows, or spears could harm it. Thunderbolts struck down many ships, killing entire crews and destroying the vessels in an instant.
The King witnessed the chaos and quickly ordered the Armada to retreat, but it was too late. They had ventured too far from the shore.
The calamity continued as the lives of the crew and soldier were devoured by the monster, its bloodied maw chomping down on wood, metal, and flesh alike without any discrimination. Its hunger was getting lessened and lessened until only a few ships were left.
This time, the monster arrived at the royal ship; it stared at the King in a fury, the humanoid part of the girl that fused with the monster's head looking down on the King's injury before the monster deliberately destroyed the royal ship without killing the King.
King Alaric fell into the sea and found himself facing a girl. He couldn't remember her face; there were too many people he had killed. All that occupied his mind at that moment was how to escape from this situation alive.
The King made his offer to the girl, but she remained silent. Instead of responding, she reached out and touched the King's face with her hand. In that moment, a significant amount of the King's vitality was drawn from him. His black hair quickly turned white, and his body began to deteriorate.
Just as the King was on the brink of losing all his life force, the girl suddenly lost consciousness. She sank into the sea along with the monster, leaving the old and frail King behind. He was eventually rescued by his soldiers.
Finally… the girl regains consciousness; she's lying naked on the shore of an island not far from Rome. She was confused and curious about what had happened to her. She stepped into the sea, and then, like the sea itself had become part of her, she could will it move, and it obeyed her every whim.
"It's… it's not a dream…" The girl realized that all the strange things that happened to her were not a dream.
She used her newfound power to return to Rome, and there, she found only ruin and what was once her home, not it become the shadow of its former self. Rome is still there, but all of its riches were plundered. Chaos and lawlessness run rampant; controlling it would take a lot of effort.
And a lot of people died under the blade of the Visigoth. It's a matter of time before it becomes a ruined city…
But, her newfound ability lets her sense something that's within the city, something that was hidden from her. The people with strange abilities, just like her… they are the same as her, the people who can control elements.
One thing left to another; she knows that these people are mages, and they could have protected the city. But they didn't, but this is not what made her furious at them. These people wanted to catch her and experiment on her.
The fight ensues, and her power overwhelms them. She drained all of their lifespans, and now… she felt loss…. Her father, mother, and all of her loved ones have all died under the blade of the Visigoth… there's nothing left for her here anymore.
The girl ventured to the Visigoth kingdom, where she witnessed her hateful enemy, King Alaric, die in the guise of illness. The corpses were burned in the pyre with masks and cloths, hiding all the traces of decrepitness. Otherwise, the people would have called out that the King was cursed after he had sacked Rome.
With the King dying, her vengeance died with him. She ventured North to the unknown land… and there… after decades of traveling… she met him.
The cloaked silhouette who stirs her heart, her first love, her first man, and her teacher, Merlin. She learned from her him, lived with him, and adventure with him for decades.
The tales that depict him as an old man was not true, in truth… Merlin was not an old man, that's what she remember…
Then the scene changed, she saw him… went to a far away pplace… the place that's beyind her capabilities to follow…
"Let's Meet again.." The voice familiar to her spok before the silhouette vanish.

"No! Merlin! Don't go! Don't go, MERLIN!" Envy screamed, and then she woke up.
As she slowly looked around, she realized she was protected by a sealing spell that prevented her dream from manifesting in the real world.
This was one of Envy's flaws; her power was too strong. On days when her abilities peaked, influenced by the constellations… like today. She needed something to stop the chaos from her dream from breaching into reality.
Being the most powerful witch in the world, the entity she envisioned in her dream could likely cause great disturbance. To prevent this, she either needed someone to help her or had to sleep in a location safeguarded by sealing arrays and stronger restraints.
Not far from where she slept, Envy spotted Sloth, peacefully dozing on her cushioned bed while the artifact she had crafted maintained the sealing formation.
Sloth was the most skilled in dream realm connection and dream magic, so Envy had invited Sloth to assist her on such a critical day.
"Umm…" Sloth groaned as she rubbed her eyes. "You dreamed about him again? Are you sure you can forget about him? Don't let Daniel know about this; otherwise, he might get jealous." She yawned after speaking.
