Chapter 37: Chapter 37
[Three days later]
After what felt like hours of preparation and strategizing, Nezu still couldn't get a single moment of respite, mostly because there was no time to relax and partly because he couldn't let himself relax, not when things were this dire.
The plan had been a fairly simple one to understand. Nezu didn't believe in concocting overly complicated plans, especially when multiple parties were involved, where miscommunication could happen frequently.
So, the headmaster opted for a simple strategy. The simple idea was to lure out the villains to attack.
Nezu had figured that the attack on gym gamma was an attempt at getting the attention of the heroes at UA, getting them panicking and paranoid, and playing with the paranoia by trying to make the heroes suspect each other and break the trust they have.
Once that is done, with the trust broken then the villains win.
With that theory in mind, Nezu figured that it was necessary to draw the villains out by presenting a front that their attempts failed, prompting the villains to commit to more drastic measures, like attacking directly.
That's what the trip to USJ is for, to demonstrate to the villain that their plans have no effect, and if they want to defeat the heroes at UA, then they'll need to be direct and show themselves.
Of course there's a chance that this plan might fail at drawing the attention of the villains however that won't be a bad outcome, as it means the students will not be in harm's way and if it does work then they can capture the villains, it's a win‐win this type of situation.
At present, All Might, Cementos, Midnight, and Ectoplasm were on standby near the USJ facility. Each hero was accompanied by at least two clones of Ectoplasm.
Nezu has thought of having more heroes; however, he couldn't neglect the possibility of the villain's attacking the university while their significant force was elsewhere, so he decided that a small team should work.
Ectoplasm can face multiple villains at once, Midnight's ability can put multiple people of the same type, and Cementos can capture as many villains as possible. All Might is the brawn meant to handle any unexpected elements or powerful villains that the other three cannot.
Nezu wouldn't say it was a foolproof plan, but it was good enough.
All that was left to do was wait and see.
.…..
"Welcome to the unforeseen simulation joint, otherwise known as the USJ"
Aizawa lazily announced as he and the student walked through the gate of the USJ. The students couldn't help but be amazed at the structure.
"Don't be too impressed now. There's still more to see inside"
He said with an amused smile as he heard their amazed sounds, his eyes darted towards Taro, who was floating about a few centimeters off the ground.
"Kid, I know we're going to train and This is going to be a training excuse, but wait till we're actually inside to use your quirk"
Aizawa advised, but Taro was resistant to following that advice.
"Sorry if I'm a little tired Mr Aizawa, when you said I'd be helping with the clearing off the debris, I didn't think you meant I'd do it by myself"
The young man grumbled as he gave Aizawa a sharp-eyed look that expressed his frustration. It wasn't like clearing out the debris was difficult strength-wise, but rather, it was tedious and repetitive. Apparently, they can't just replace the broken walls but have to demolish the entire thing, revealing its basic structure to see if it's not damaged. If it is, they fix that, then rebuild.
There was also the fact that Nezu thought it was a better idea to simply rebuild the entire gym, this time with better, stronger, and reinforced materials.
"You also have to help in the rebuilding process, so look forward to that"
The young man groaned and rolled his eyes before he heard a burst of laughter coming from Bakugou.
"I gotta say, it feels good having you clean up my mess. It's almost like you're my servant or something"
Bakugou expressed and then laughed in amusement.
"Of course, someone has to clean up after Trashki, although I didn't think you were so useless that you couldn't clean your own mess up, I feel sorry for your mother"
"What'd you call me?!"
Bakugou snapped his neck to look at Taro and shouted; however, Taro was unperturbed.
"You heard"
The class couldn't help but roll their eyes before they all said "here we go again" inside their heads.
"Hey no fighting, you aren't children"
Aizawa tried to intervene, but his attention was taken by Toru, who decided to ask a question.
"Mr Aizawa, what is this place?"
The girl had thought it was better to let the two argue rather than try to stop it; she knew they didn't really hate each other.
"Hold on, I'll explain inside"
He said as they reached the double doors, he used his key card, and the doors clicked open, and he pushed the doors open. He led the students down the stairs, and as they walked, he began to explain.
"As I said, this is the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, It was created to help train you to handle different disasters"
He paused as he reached the ground and waited for the students to reach the ground. He backed up as they finally stood on the ground.
"Mr Aizawa, by 'handle different disasters', does that mean things like tornadoes and earthquakes?"
Iida was the one who asked that question, having assumed that Aizawa paused to allow for questions.
"You're correct, Iida, while it's true that some heroes can handle disasters better, for instance Thirteen's quirk is useful for great disasters and clearing up massive debris, however that doesn't mean we should just let her do all that work, There's a role each hero can play in such scenarios"
He explained, and he saw the looks of comprehension on their faces, so he continued.
"This facility has multiple different zones, each mimicking the conditions of a different disaster…."
It was during Aizawa's explanation that a massive purple portal suddenly appeared and caused Aizawa to suddenly stop talking.
Multitudes of strange individuals exited through it, causing the students and their teacher to immediately tense up and take battle-ready stances.
Aizawa quickly stood before his students to protect them, and he felt a sense of anxiety as he saw the number of villains that suddenly appeared.
"Hello heroes, I do hope we're not interrupting something important"
Shigaraki spoke as he stood at the back closer to the purple portal, his entire body covered by multiple pale hands as he spoke in a menacing tone. Both his hands were hidden behind his back.
"What business do you have in this facility?"
Aizawa asked, his voice curt and threatening, but his body tense and ready for a confrontation; however, inwardly, he was thankful that Neze's plan to draw them out had worked.
He glanced back at his students with worry. He knew only a Taro, and quite possibly, Bakugou could be able to do anything. The rest have not received nearly enough training to fight villains yet.
"How boring, you're not going to ask how we knew about this place, or why we came exactly when you're here? There's an order to these things you know"
Shigaraki answered while scratching the back of his head; he'd be lying if he didn't actually expect such questions from the hero; it was a cliche he was quite fond of, however, he knew it was hardly an important thing.
"It's not like you're going to tell me even if I ask, are you?"
"You're right, but still, the back and forth adds tension but whatever, to answer your question"
He paused and revealed both his hands, and one of them held a handgun, a standard Glock that fit well into his hand like a glove.
Aizawa creased his brow. Things had gotten rather dangerous very quickly. He had hoped to get a little more information before he sent the signal.
"Don't make any sudden moves, a single twitch of your finger, and a student dies, so be careful.
Shigaraki warned, his voice spoke of the threat with the casual flair of a seasoned killer. After having issued the warning, he gave a signal to Kurogiri.
Heeding the signal, Kurogiri let out a tall and lanky being that was somewhat muscular, its face was ugly to look at, like some sort of goblin like creature, despite having a head that resembles a human, its human-like brain was bare, exposed to the elements as it had no skull, and its eyes were pure white no pupils. Its skin was sickly pale, and it showed no signs of intelligence.
Seeing such a grotesque creature, the group of heroes exclaimed in surprise, gasping at its horrid appearance. Aizawa, however, realised quickly that this was not something that was going to be easy.
Behind him just behind Kirishima and Denki, Mina looked at the myriad of villains and spotted a familiar silhouette. She squinted her eyes, trying to get a clearer picture, but to no avail, it remained silhouette.
Aizawa, on the other hand, focused on the creature. He could easily tell that whatever that thing was, it wasn't a human, and he could tell that he might have some trouble dealing with it, so it was better to send the signal, but unfortunately, the button for said signal was in his pocket.
He was willing to take a bullet, a hero that was his job, but he didn't know how good the enemy's aim was; simply jumping in front of the student was hardly an obstacle to a skilled shooter.
"You see, we're here for two things, to test how the next generation of heroes will fare against the new generation of villains, and that is us, The League of villains"
