Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Danny vs Colleen

"But…" Coulson hesitated before continuing, "By then, New York will have become a battlefield, and countless innocent lives will be at stake! We're looking at severe casualties."

"Coulson."

The one-eyed man lifted his gaze. "We know about the Hand, an evil organization already lurking in the shadows. So why haven't we acted?"

Coulson pondered for a moment, drawing on the information he had gathered. "Their Five Fingers are well-hidden, making it impossible to strike at the head right now. Moreover, they have numerous branches and minions—too many to dismantle from the ground up. I believe those are the reasons."

"You're overlooking the most critical point! The Five Fingers of the Hand are scattered worldwide! Even if we cut off one finger, the Hand itself will persist."

As he spoke, the one-eyed man clenched his right fist, emphasizing the point. "For years, I've sought the opportunity to eliminate them all at once. This Iron Fist, Danny Rand, is my best bait!"

Coulson remained silent, grappling with the risk to innocent lives, but eventually nodded in agreement.

Later that evening, at eleven o'clock, Rex sat in meditation on the second floor of Lee's restaurant when he suddenly opened his eyes. "A strong Ki… this is… Danny Rand? He's back!"

Leaping to his feet, he sensed the energy around him. "Colleen is with him… but wait, are they fighting?"

Eyes wide with surprise, Rex rushed out of the quiet room, skipping the stairs and jumping off the balcony. He adjusted his balance mid-air and landed calmly on the ground, quickly sprinting toward Colleen's dojo.

Meanwhile, Lorna, hearing the commotion from the second floor, went up to investigate but found it empty. "Boss? What happened?" she called out, unaware of Danny or Colleen's presence.

Within less than half a minute, Rex reached the dojo. All the doors downstairs were closed, so he stepped onto the edge of a window, climbing up the wall like a seasoned acrobat. Spotting an unprotected window on the third floor, he jumped through, shattering the glass, and landed inside the dojo with a shout: "Stop!"

Colleen, wielding a katana with both hands, and Danny, his hand glowing with golden energy, turned in shock. They both shouted, "Who?" before exclaiming in unison, "Rex?"

"Yes, it's Rex! What's happening? Why are you two fighting?" he asked, stepping between them without hesitation.

Danny's surprise quickly morphed into anger. "Ask your old friend! She's with the Hand! She's been deceiving us!"

Rex had already suspected this but was taken aback by Danny's reaction. Colleen should have been helping, getting him out of the Hand's grasp. Why was Danny so adamant about her affiliation?

"Danny, calm down. There must be a misunderstanding!" Rex urged.

Colleen stepped forward, placing a hand on Rex's arm as if to push him away. "Rex, you don't need to intervene. Didn't he just tell you? I'm with the Hand. He's from Kunlun, our sworn enemy. You should back off."

This girl… is she really willing to abandon everything as her world crumbles?

As Rex contemplated this, Colleen tried to push him away, but it felt like pushing against a wall. She sensed an unexpected warmth and safety behind him.

Initially, she thought everything she believed in was a lie; that everyone she trusted had deserted her. But now, one person stood ready to defend her unconditionally.

Danny glared at Rex, teeth clenched. "Rex, you heard her! If you choose to protect her, you'll be my enemy!"

"Danny, think! Colleen isn't like that!" Rex stepped closer, trying to reason with him. "Have you considered she might be the one being deceived?"

Danny sneered, refusing to engage. He raised his glowing fist, threatening, "Rex, you said you couldn't match my Iron Fist! Move aside; I don't want to hurt you!"

That was true half a month ago, but now…

Rex wasn't going to leave his fate to chance. Without hesitation, he raised his hands to his forehead and declared, "Solar Flare!"

A blinding light flooded the dojo, catching both Danny and Colleen off guard. They screamed as the brilliance overwhelmed their vision.

As the light faded, Rex quietly approached Danny from behind, preparing a swift strike to subdue him. He aimed for Danny's neck, intending to incapacitate him temporarily and address the situation later. He knew that even if Danny regained consciousness, he wouldn't be able to summon the Iron Fist for a while, given his current state.
