Since the topic had already been brought up, Carol didn't hesitate much. In fact, things were far simpler than Noah had imagined.
To be honest, Noah initially thought he would need to spend a lot of time persuading her. Worst-case scenario, he feared he might even fall out with Carol.
Of course, Noah never truly intended to go that far. He wasn't reckless. He knew when to stop.
As for Carol's agreement, upon careful consideration, Noah realized it made perfect sense.
First of all, Carol hadn't yet understood the true nature of her powers. She didn't know that the energy which transformed her had originated from the Space Stone—nor did she comprehend how absurd her potential truly was.
Secondly, there was Earth's level of technological advancement. Carol had seen the highly advanced tech of the Kree Empire. After returning to Earth, what she observed further confirmed her suspicions: Earth's technology lagged far behind other interstellar civilizations.
Lastly, Carol's impression of sorcerers played a role. In her mind, magicians were the type who dealt with unknown forces, often poking into mysterious domains just for the sake of research and discovery.
Since Carol didn't fully understand her powers yet, she didn't take it too seriously. After a brief warning from Noah not to hand over her DNA to anyone else, she let him collect some of her blood—with considerable difficulty. The needle couldn't pierce her skin at all. The situation reminded Noah of someone who wore red briefs over blue tights.
After some effort, Noah finally acquired what he desired most.
As soon as Noah touched the blood in the vial, the system in his brain activated again. This time, he was mentally prepared.
"Special item detected: Blood of an advanced life form undergoing evolution."
"Possesses unimaginable power and potential. Under continuous high-level energy assault, the organism gains adaptive evolution abilities."
"Potential Rating: Top-tier."
"Research Value: Unlimited."
"Warning: Improper use or analysis without precautions may cause catastrophic consequences."
Listening to the system's notification, Noah couldn't help but sigh in admiration. Captain Marvel's potential is terrifying.
Just think—within 20 years, she was nearly able to match Thanos wielding the full Infinity Gauntlet. She only lost when Thanos sucker-punched her with the Power Stone, launching her into orbit like a human meteor.
And yet… she survived. Because, after all, that was Thanos with the Power Stone.
Twenty years to reach that level of strength—utterly monstrous. Not to mention, it only took her six years to reach Tier Seven in Noah's power classification system. That alone was enough to terrify anyone.
To be honest, Noah even suspected that Carol might be this universe's true "Child of Destiny." Even beings like the Ancient One had trained for centuries, often needing to sign contracts or receive blessings from entities of other planes.
But Carol? She got to this level practically by accident—by sheer, dumb luck. That's what I call a cheat code, Noah thought.
Sighing, Noah carefully stored the vial of blood inside his mirror dimension. He wasn't about to risk accidentally breaking it—a single mistake and boom.
Once he secured the blood, Carol resumed working with the Skrulls, analyzing the coordinate data.
The shallow wound Noah had barely managed to create with a Wind Blade had long since healed. He even began to suspect she might be related to Logan—aka Wolverine.
"Are you really planning to research that magically?" asked Wong, suddenly appearing beside Noah.
"Just for fun. I don't expect to find anything groundbreaking. It's just to kill time," Noah replied, glancing at the two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents subtly eavesdropping nearby.
"Magic research—especially foundational work—isn't something you can do casually," Wong said, shaking his head. "It's difficult, frustrating, and takes a lot of time. You probably won't get any results."
Wong wasn't wrong. The magical world had seen many researchers attempt great things. But over time, most gave up, shifting their focus to fundamental spellwork instead. Foundational magic research was hard, tedious, and consumed years of effort.
"Don't worry. I'm just curious. If I don't find anything, I'll drop it," Noah assured him.
"Still, be cautious. You've felt the energy in that blood. One wrong move, and things could go very wrong," Wong said gravely.
"Of course. I don't want to blow up Kamar-Taj by accident."
"That's good. To be honest, that woman is terrifying. A single drop of her blood is comparable to a nuclear bomb!"
"A nuclear bomb?!"
Fury's eyes widened from the side. What the hell did that mean?!
For a moment, Fury thought they were exaggerating—but looking at their serious expressions, he doubted it.
Besides, he realized he had no way of acquiring that blood himself. These people had no reason to lie to him.
One careless mishap, and a city could go up in flames. Fury silently abandoned the idea of pursuing Carol's blood. Instead, a darker thought crept in: What if that blood detonated and revealed the entire magical world?
Meanwhile, Carol and Talos had been analyzing the coordinates. With Maria Rambeau's help, they quickly identified the target location.
Talos was speechless. His tech officer had spent hours scanning the data with advanced tools and still failed—while a regular Earth civilian had solved it within minutes.
Once they had a location, Talos used S.H.I.E.L.D. credentials to requisition one of Earth's most advanced aircraft. Noah had to admit: S.H.I.E.L.D.'s identity held real sway on Earth.
But just as they were preparing to move, Carol suddenly frowned.
"What's wrong?" Noah asked.
"I thought you sorcerers were the guardians of Earth. You really don't know what's going on?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at him.
Noah paused, then understood. "You mean… your teammates are here, right?"
"Exactly. So how do you plan to deal with them?" she asked, serious.
"If they're coming, then let them come. You're planning to confront them anyway, aren't you?"
Carol nodded. "I have too many questions. I need answers."
Her six years with the Kree had made her feel more at home in space than on Earth. But now… she was starting to see too many contradictions. She needed clarity.
Noah nodded. He didn't waste words. His mind was already on the spaceship parked in orbit.
Because Noah knew what was inside it—the Space Stone.
He still wasn't sure how Mar-Vell had managed to get the Space Stone out of S.H.I.E.L.D. and use it for research.
But that didn't matter now.
What Noah was really thinking about was whether he should seize this opportunity to absorb the Space Stone.
There were clear benefits. With it, he could deepen his understanding of space magic, increase his power, and even accelerate his system's growth.
Plus, if he didn't give the Space Stone back to Fury—like in the original MCU—perhaps it wouldn't draw Thanos' attention.
That could mean no Battle of New York, and therefore… no Avengers?
Because if Loki never came, the Mind Stone wouldn't be used by HYDRA for experiments.
In that case… would Scarlet Witch still be an artificial enhanced human, or would she revert to being Magneto's daughter?
Noah's head throbbed. This broken universe was giving him a headache.
Shaking it off, he stopped thinking about all that. He'd deal with it when the time came.
Just as he was about to make the decision to absorb the Space Stone, something popped into his mind.
Didn't Odin say that the Infinity Stones should never be brought together? That it would trigger catastrophic consequences?
At the time, Noah didn't think much of that warning.
But looking back, every time multiple stones were brought together—disaster followed.
Take Thanos, for example. After collecting all six, this galactic version of the "Universal Family Planning Commission" snapped half the universe out of existence.
And before he could enjoy his retirement, Thor chopped his head off.
Then came another Thanos from a parallel timeline—only to be vaporized by Tony Stark using the very stones he sought.
Over and over again, those who tried to master the Infinity Stones ended up dead.
And now, here was the Space Stone—already on Earth, hidden in Kamar-Taj.
If Noah absorbed it now, would that trigger Thanos' attention even earlier? That could spell disaster.
After agonizing over the decision, Noah sighed deeply.
Why is it that every other protagonist just collects Infinity Stones like Pokémon? They don't hesitate. They just fight. What's Thanos to them—just a big purple potato? Beat him, roast him, and have him for dinner!
"Turns out… being weak really is the original sin."
