Marvel Transmigration: I Possessed Iron Man

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: The Girl Next Door

"He must've used dirty tricks! I'm calling the cops! I'll report him to the authorities! I'll report him to the tax department for evasion, I'll make sure he's left with nothing, not even his underwear!" Victor roared hysterically.

"Do you have any cards left to play?" Norman Osborn's once-burning desire for revenge had completely cooled by now.

The bald man in front of him no longer seemed to hold any value.

"Hmph, you think I'm useless now, don't you?" Victor was on the verge of a breakdown.

"Not at all. You've run Stark Industries for so many years—you must have your own resources. Would you care to share some insider information?" Norman Osborn asked with a sly smile.

"Everyone in Stark Industries, apart from the top brass, answers to me! The entire company, top to bottom—they're all my people! He's just one man. How can he possibly compete with me?" Victor straightened his posture with confidence.

"Besides, I still own ten percent of Stark Industries' shares. As long as I don't sell, who can drive me out of the company?"

"If he wants to play dirty, then don't blame me for being ruthless! If he pushes me too far, nobody's walking away unscathed!"

"Old ginger's spicier—just as they say. With that, I can rest easy. So, when would you like to begin treatment?" Norman Osborn asked cautiously.

"Immediately. Right now. I can't stand another second of this damned formaldehyde smell in the hospital!" Victor bellowed.

"Alright, we'll arrange it right away." Norman Osborn made a quick phone call.

"It's done. Please come with me."

"Boss, I've tracked down that young man you asked about Peter Parker. He's currently attending a community college for high school-level classes. What are your instructions?" HAPPY reported in Ethan Quinn's office.

"Has he shown any unusual abilities? Like super strength?"

"Boss, you've nailed it again. Peter Parker used to be a total nobody—always getting bullied by one of the football players at his school. But recently, out of nowhere, he beat the hell out of that guy in public. No one knows how he did it," HAPPY explained truthfully.

"Go on."

"Also, he's been frequenting some underground boxing rings and winning every match. It's strange. Underground fights don't require much technique, but for someone as scrawny as him to keep winning, that's hard to explain."

"Looks like the little spider's already gained Spider-Man's powers. It won't be long before he clashes with the Green Goblin," Ethan Quinn thought to himself, recalling the classic Spider-Man storyline.

It always went the same way: young Spider-Man enters a boxing match, encounters a fighter who later robs the match organizer over unpaid wages. Spider-Man lets the thief escape, and that same thief accidentally kills his uncle.

Consumed by guilt, Spider-Man spirals into self-blame, carrying it well into his college years.

Meanwhile, his stunning neighbor Mary Jane starts working early as a nightclub singer.

Peter Parker, despite gaining superpowers, doesn't use them to make money. Instead, he chooses the path of an anonymous hero.

This left Ethan Quinn puzzled. "You can't even pay your own bills what gives you the right to replace the police and save others?"

As the ancient wisdom of the East says, "When poor, preserve your integrity; when wealthy, help the world."

This principle, cherished by countless sages, is something Peter Parker clearly doesn't understand.

Then again, his uncle was poor too. A poor man's life experience is limited to surviving poverty, how could he possibly raise a child to become rich?

Climbing the social ladder isn't about wishful thinking. You have to fight your way up and go against the odds.

Just look at the Green Goblin Jr., look at Iron Man. Sure, they inherited their fathers' legacies, but they still managed to juggle work, love, and cutting-edge technology without missing a beat.

Looks like this little spider could use some help. Not for any noble reason but because, even after gaining superpowers, he hasn't turned to evil. That alone puts him ahead of 99% of humanity.

And people like that probably only exist in movies.

To be honest, Ethan Quinn knew he could never do the same. So all he could do was enjoy life's pleasures while giving a silent thumbs-up to heroes like Spider-Man and Superman—nothing but respect.

"Don't alert the little spider just yet. Set up a scholarship fund at his school specifically for underprivileged students who love building inventions," Ethan Quinn decided after a moment's thought.

"Is that amount reasonable?" HAPPY asked, unsure of how to arrange it.

"Just make it a thousand dollars a month. Anything more might actually backfire," Ethan Quinn replied. He wasn't exactly familiar with the cost of living in the U.S.

"Understood, boss."

Queens, New York — Community High School

"How can I win the heart of the beautiful girl next door—Mary Jane?" Peter Parker lay in his cramped little room, troubled.

Right across from his window was the house of the girl he secretly adored—Mary Jane.

Mary Jane had been beautiful since childhood, always turning heads wherever she went.

As for our young Spider-Man, he was a textbook American nerd. Aside from tinkering with small inventions, he was hopeless when it came to sports, literature, or just about anything else.

How could a guy like that possibly attract the attention of a mature girl who had seen the world?

Beep beep.

A car horn sounded downstairs.

Now equipped with Spider-Man's powers, Peter Parker leapt to the window in a flash and watched as his dream girl climbed into someone's sports car and sped off into the distance.

"If you want to get rich, build a road first. And if you want to chase girls, you'd better have a car," Peter Parker muttered bitterly. Unable to bear the frustration in his heart, he began flipping through the ads in The Daily Planet.

"Welcome to the Queens Underground Boxing Tournament! First prize: $3,000!"

This was it!

Peter Parker had found his way to earn money. He immediately began handcrafting his first-ever battle suit.

"Extra! Extra! All the hottest news in New York! Come take a look! One dollar won't leave you cheated, one dollar won't leave you fooled! Hulk and Abomination battle it out in Brooklyn! Mysterious Iron Man appears suspected alien!"

A homeless kid hugged a large bundle of newspapers as he weaved through the bustling crowd, shouting at the top of his lungs.

"Hey kid, give me one!"

Ethan Quinn rolled down the window of his silver Mercedes-Benz SL-Class AMG.

"Yes, sir!"

The newsboy handed him a paper.

"Here, keep the change." Ethan Quinn handed the boy a crisp hundred-dollar bill.

"Thank you, sir! Thank you for your generosity! Wishing you a long and healthy life!" The boy, seeing Benjamin Franklin's face on the bill, bowed repeatedly, overjoyed.

"This photo turned out perfect! It captures my elegance, charm, and might all at once!" Ethan Quinn admired his image on the front page dressed in the Mark II Hellfire Armor, the glowing arc reactor on his chest shining brilliantly.
