Chapter 67: EPISODE 67 — “Nullpoint Collapse”
"The moment you forget who you are… is the moment you disappear."
Previously:
The Avengers faced Nullpriest, the Tenth Forgotten — a nameless entity of distortion, memory theft, and rewritten laws of reality.
After barely surviving the encounter, they discovered Nullpriest is erasing pieces of Tokyo — memories, streets, and even identities.
Now, the team races to preserve what remains of the city — while holding onto their own names.
🎬 [ACT I — The City Fades]
Scene: Downtown Tokyo – 3:03 AM
Entire blocks are missing. Not destroyed — just… gone.
Street signs flicker into unreadable glyphs. Phones glitch out with no signal. People wander without knowing why they're walking.
CITIZEN (looking around):
"Where do I live again…?"
SHOPKEEPER (quietly, to self):
"I had a daughter, didn't I?"
Billboards distort. Even the Tokyo Tower is fracturing, pixel by pixel.
Inside a safe zone guarded by Onmyo Flare's binding charms, the Avengers hold council.
ONMYO FLARE:
"He's accelerated. Nullpriest is now deleting meaning itself."
NEKOBURST (arms folded):
"We can't punch 'meaning.' We can't even scratch this freak."
STARWAVE:
"We already hit him once. That scream — someone's trapped inside him."
KURO (eyes glowing):
"Then we don't fight the priest…
We find the prisoner."
🎬 [ACT II — Fragment Teams]
To cover more ground, the Avengers split into fragments, each assigned to a disappearing district:
📍 TEAM 1: Xylo + Starwave – Akihabara Loop
Arcades glitch with twisted audio loops. A child hums backwards as plush toys come alive, speaking gibberish.
XYLO:
"Everything's stuck on repeat. Sound first. Memory next."
STARWAVE (holding her mic):
"Then I'll break the record."
She charges up a frequency burst and disrupts the loop, temporarily restoring clarity.
CHILD (now normal):
"My mom… she was here. I remember now."
STARWAVE (softly):
"Good. Hold onto her."
They follow the static toward a billboard flashing a sigil — a fragment of Nullpriest's language.
Xylo slices the corrupted screen with his bare hand — blood flying — and sees something:
A glimpse of a boy inside Nullpriest. Young. Afraid. Screaming without sound.
📍 TEAM 2: Heartlight + Nekoburst – Ueno Maze
The city rearranges itself. Staircases go nowhere. Roads fold like origami.
NEKOBURST (panting):
"I hate mind-bending levels."
HEARTLIGHT (scanning with radiant light):
"No, this is worse. It's deleting landmarks… so people forget they ever lived here."
Heartlight plants a glowing beacon in the center of a vanishing park.
HEARTLIGHT:
"Hope's a physical thing. You can feel it."
The beacon restores part of the street — a girl cries out from a window.
GIRL:
"I remember my dog! His name was Koma!"
NEKOBURST (smirking):
"Koma's a solid name."
But then… the girl's window vanishes mid-sentence.
NEKOBURST (horrified):
"We're too late in some places…"
📍 TEAM 3: Kuro + Scarlet Onna + Onmyo Flare – Temple of Echoing Names
They enter an abandoned shrine full of whispered names — scratched into walls, drifting in air.
KURO (growling):
"These are names Nullpriest erased."
Scarlet Onna touches one name. For a moment, her mother's voice echoes in the wind.
SCARLET ONNA (shaking):
"They're not all lost yet. We can anchor them."
Onmyo Flare begins casting a powerful name-binding spell — something ancient and costly.
ONMYO FLARE (chanting):
"By ink, by root, by memory…
I bind what should not fade."
The entire shrine glows white. The whispers stabilize. A wall of names returns.
Kuro adds one more with his claw:
"TOKYO."
🎬 [ACT III — The Child Inside Null]
Back at HQ, all clues converge.
The sigils retrieved from Akihabara.
The memory beacon signals from Ueno.
The name-binding shrine in the temple.
Together, they form a location:
The VOID MIRROR — a hidden gateway in the lowest metro tunnel ever built… now forgotten by every map.
HEARTLIGHT (pale):
"That boy we saw inside Nullpriest... he's not just a victim."
STARWAVE:
"You think he's the core?"
ONMYO FLARE:
"Worse. I think he was the spell."
🎬 [ENDING SCENE — Null Awakens]
Suddenly, the world glitches.
TVs, phones, even reflections scream a name:
"I AM REMEMBERED."
NULLPRIEST appears above Tokyo Tower — now half-erased.
His robes unravel like a scroll — his shadow now spans the entire skyline.
NULLPRIEST (in the child's voice):
"You wrote me out.
Now I write the end."
