Marvel: The Amazing Spider-Man in the Multiverse

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Fierce Battle on Earth-700 (2)

Peter was currently dealing with Prowler, also known as Aaron Davis, Miles's uncle.

Prowler was originally a rather obscure villain, but his current popularity as a Spider-Man antagonist is entirely thanks to Miles boosting his uncle's profile.

Aaron Davis isn't even the original Prowler; in the comics, the first Prowler, Hobie Brown, was a high-rise window washer whose boots were for walking on building exteriors, his steel claws for gripping at heights, and his wrist gauntlets were originally designed to spray window cleaner.

Then they were weaponized. His battle boots, initially for walking on any hard surface, were enhanced to give Prowler mobility on par with Spider-Man. His claws could easily cut through steel rebar, and his gauntlets could fire grappling hooks, throwing knives, or other dangerous projectiles.

That's it.

Those were all of Prowler's abilities. Combined with Aaron Davis's combat experience from years of working with Kingpin and even serving time in prison with him, he posed a slight danger. However, for Peter, a villain like this, who already had some notoriety and wasn't under-equipped like Shocker, wasn't much of a threat.

"Seriously, why don't you become a window washer? I bet every window washer in New York would be jealous of your gear."

Peter spoke while dodging Prowler's attacks. He noticed Prowler constantly keeping an eye on his web-shooters, yet still managed to evade his occasional counterattacks. Undoubtedly, Prowler had accumulated a lot of experience fighting Spider-Man during his battles with Blonde Peter.

But that experience was irrelevant, because Peter had something that this universe's Spider-Man didn't have—and no, it wasn't Uncle Ben.

"You're no different from our Spider-Man, same old nonsense, same self-righteousness."

As Prowler swung a claw, he kicked at Peter. Peter leaned back to dodge, then pushed off with his feet for a backflip, avoiding two poisoned darts fired from Prowler's gauntlets. At the same time, webs shot towards Prowler's hands, but were torn apart by his claws.

"Oh really? I wouldn't be so sure."

As another web ball was sliced open by Prowler's claws, Peter had already switched web types. He fired webs at his opponent while adding, "For example, I haven't told him who you really are."

"?"

A strong web connected to Prowler's claws, making it impossible for him to cut it immediately. Also, because of Peter's words, he didn't instantly cut the web.

"I'm from another universe, so haven't you considered that where I come from, I already know who you are and what you've been through?"

"Don't bluster."

Aaron said this, but Peter yanked the web, pulling him close. While dodging Prowler's attack, he directly grabbed both of his claws, entering a brief, or perhaps intentional, tug-of-war.

"Oh really? Your nephew, his name is Miles, right?"

Hearing Miles's name, Prowler clearly wavered, but then he exerted all his strength, trying to crush Peter's hands: "Are you threatening me with my nephew?"

"Threatening you? Come on, I don't threaten anyone, and I don't need to threaten you at all. I just need to tell him that his Uncle Aaron has always been Kingpin's top villain, Prowler! That's enough!"

"He looks up to you as his role model, he thinks you're someone who understands what he wants, always idolizing you. If he knew his uncle was a villain aiding tyranny, helping to destroy all of New York City, what do you think he'd feel? Huh?"

Prowler, clearly distracted, gave Peter an opening. Peter kicked him directly, sending him flying, then shocked him with a high-voltage web before sticking him to the wall with a strong web. Peter walked over, choosing not to remove his mask, but simply disarmed him of his claws.

"Think about it, Aaron. I've only been active for less than a year and I already know all this. Imagine how much a Spider-Man who's been dealing with you for ten years knows. Turn yourself in to the police and be a good person. It's better than having your own Spider-Man, pushed too far one day, unmask you to face the disappointed gazes of your family."

Having dealt with Prowler, Peter swung away. He needed to help this universe's Spider-Man intercept Scorpion and Tombstone. Meanwhile, 2099, who had more or less dealt with the Green Goblin, also rushed over. The two of them swung webs together towards the besieged Spider-Man (Earth-700).

"So, why aren't you flying anymore?"

"When you're in an era where Punisher, Daredevil, and Captain America can all fly, you start to feel like web-slinging is more unique," 2099 said with a grim humor. Peter laughed happily: "You're in much better spirits than before."

"Am I? Perhaps."

At this moment, Blonde Peter was being ambushed by both Tombstone and Scorpion. Tombstone wasn't too bad; besides superhuman strength and bulletproof skin, he had no other notable features.

But Earth-700's Scorpion was terrifying. His legs could split into a four-legged structure, allowing him to move like a real scorpion. His left hand had been replaced with a sharp metal claw, while his tail, which could spray acid in other universes, had become unremarkable, turning into a real, indestructible solid tail.

"I was sure Lonnie had the toughest hide under Fisk, and Gargan, you have the sharpest claws." Spider-Man (Earth-700) hooked Scorpion's large pincer with a web, then slammed him hard into Tombstone's face. Tombstone's sturdy face only showed a more distinct white mark, making his albino face appear even paler.

"And now I'm certain what the answer to the paradox is."

Just as Spider-Man (Earth-700) was about to leap to dodge Scorpion's sting and Tombstone's punch, his spider-sense began to weaken.

The attacks from both villains were simultaneously caught by the webs of the two other Spider-Men. Miguel tackled Tombstone to the ground, while Peter, having stuck to Scorpion's tail, flung him entirely, slamming him against the nearby wall.

"Hang in there, old man! I still want to get 'Worst Rescue Timing'!"

Seeing the younger version of Peter Parker shout at him, Blonde Peter smiled, saying, "Stick to the plan!" He then swung down, landing between the two collided supercolliders.

He found and lifted the metal plate covering the relay processor, and just as he was about to insert the key, his spider-sense buzzed loudly.

He immediately backflipped, dodging the first wave of tentacles, but his opponent took advantage of his evasive maneuver and grabbed his neck with another tentacle.

"Good evening, Spider-Man."

"Bad evening, Liv." Spider-Man (Earth-700), whose neck was being squeezed, still had the presence of mind to quip, "I'm sorry, you're not my type. I still prefer you with metal claws—"

"Biomatter material, lighter, more agile." Doctor Octopus Liv said, then shyly adjusted her glasses: "I'd love to chat with you and your friends, but I'm afraid we have to welcome this historic moment."

The supercolliders, having accumulated energy for a long time, erupted with immense power. As they clashed, distorted colors appeared out of thin air, and the fabric of reality began to tear.
