Chapter 41: 041 Cassandra's Death!
President Loki screamed when he saw the air beginning to distort and immediately turned to find cover!
Old Loki's scalp went numb as well!
Without hesitation, he raised a green magical barrier with both hands to block the incoming flames.
Both of them had sharp instincts and knew — if they were touched by those flames, they'd die instantly.
The surface temperature of the sun is about 5,500°C — enough to vaporize human flesh.
But the flames powered by Russell's fire-blood were even hotter.
The temperature reached 7,000°C!
At this moment, it was no different from the birth of a miniature sun!
But in the very next second, the "sun" didn't expand — it collapsed inward!
Russell was using the Human Torch's power — flame compression.
But the same power in different hands can yield entirely different results.
The Human Torch could barely raise the temperature a few hundred degrees...
But in Russell's control—
The 7,000°C flame shot up to nearly 10,000°C, turning its color to blue-white!
At this temperature, even steel would vaporize instantly.
One second later, the sun-like flame vanished!
Nothing remained except the suspended Reality Stone.
Russell, now mid-air, shot out a web of magical threads and pulled himself back to the rooftop.
President Loki immediately ran over with a flattering expression.
But before he could say a word—
A dagger appeared in Russell's hand and pierced straight through his heart!
Loki's eyes widened in shock—but then his palm transformed into a blade and stabbed at Russell!
Russell calmly twisted his wrist and slashed the dagger sideways—
Slicing off Loki's left shoulder and arm!
"You're that crazy woman," Old Loki immediately realized, stunned.
Cassandra had possessed him.
The flames had destroyed her body, but her spirit escaped and took over President Loki!
President Loki stopped pretending. A cruel smile spread across his face:
"Haha, you can't kill me, Russell!"
"Really?"
Russell grinned, his smile sincere.
"You're waiting for Alioth. So why don't you guess what I'm waiting for?"
Cassandra blinked in confusion.
Seeing this, Russell chuckled.
"Seems like you're not as clever as you thought."
"The so-called 'three seconds to kill you'... was just bait. I let you stay and waste time instead of fleeing. Because if you had escaped, I really wouldn't have been able to kill you."
Cassandra's expression changed. She screamed:
"Impossible! I'm not dead yet!"
Russell sneered.
"No — half of you is dead!"
"You made your choice, idol."
[Entry Loaded: Psychic Power – Defective (Purple-Gold)]
Powerful mental energy. Can be controlled at will. Capable of telekinesis, astral projection, possession, cell division, and regeneration.
Weakness Erasure: Strips Cassandra of her madness.
In that instant, a wave of psychic energy exploded outward, tightly encasing Loki's brain.
Russell's strategy was simple—
As long as Cassandra's mental energy couldn't escape the brain, she'd die with the body.
This was the weakness revealed in Deadpool 3, and the only way to truly kill her.
'Loki's' eyes finally filled with panic.
She tried to escape the body—but her brain was completely blocked by the mind barrier.
And worse—
The half of her mental energy that could've fought back was already destroyed.
Now, with Russell's own overwhelming psychic strength suppressing her—
She couldn't move at all.
She was trapped.
"Any last words?"
Russell stared into Loki's eyes, seeing Cassandra's twisted reflection deep within.
Cassandra didn't beg.
She coughed up blood, then grinned madly:
"Death is just eternal sleep for me."
"And you—my Ability successor…"
"I curse you—never to have peace. I will haunt your mind every midnight. I'll make you… the next me!"
"HAHAHAHA!"
She laughed hysterically, with no fear of death.
Russell's face darkened. But then he smiled, cold and mocking:
"Too bad I have to disappoint you."
"You didn't notice? There's no madness in my psychic energy."
Cassandra froze—then sensed it.
The next second, the grin vanished from her face, replaced by rage and horror:
"No!"
"No! You gave up the madness?!"
"You don't understand how cruel, how boring this world is! Only madness—"
CRACK!
The voice stopped abruptly.
Russell crushed Loki's neck with a cold expression.
"So noisy. Enough out of you."
As the body collapsed, Russell turned his head.
Old Loki was standing at the edge of the building.
Facing the incoming Alioth, he smiled:
"This time… I won't run."
"Go, Thor. Staying here is my glorious destiny!"
As soon as he finished, dazzling green light burst from his palms and soared skyward!
BOOM!
The golden halls of Asgard rose from the ground—perfectly restored from memory, not a single detail missing.
Lightning crackled around them, as if summoned by Thor himself.
Russell watched in awe.
He'd seen it on-screen before.
But nothing compared to seeing it with his own eyes.
Old Loki had drifted through life with no home, yet he never forgot what Asgard looked like.
In this moment… he stood as if he were truly home.
But—
Russell looked at the furious Alioth, which failed to devour the illusionary Asgard, and muttered:
"I don't like tragic endings."
As the words left his mouth, a portal opened beneath his feet.
Russell fell into it—and at the same time, two purple magical threads shot out and dragged Old Loki in—along with the Reality Stone.
The next second—
As Alioth devoured the rooftop—
The portal slammed shut.
Only the monster's furious roar echoed through the ruined city.
