Marvel: Starting as a Time Criminal, Stealing Powers

Chapter 39: 039 The Power Of Thor!

At that moment, countless bolts of thunder surged across the sky!

Bathed in the storm, the ground trembled violently. The world transformed—glowing gold as stone pillars erupted upward, etched with mysterious runes.

On the dome above, vast murals of thunder and lightning came to life. Purple bolts danced like dragons, bursting forth in brilliant flashes.

Russell rose from the throne.

Bright lightning crackled around him, forming silver plates of armor that layered and combined over his body, forging a divine, majestic suit. As he stepped forward, the lightning trailed behind him, weaving into a thunderous cloak.

"This is impossible!!"

Cassandra's composure finally shattered. She shouted in disbelief:

"How can Thor's power exist in the void?!"

"You're deceiving me!!"

Her words were answered by a deep, echoing boom of thunder.

BOOM!

The entire spiritual world shook, as if the heavens themselves responded.

"I am Thor—Russell!"

"Destroyer of evil!"

His words echoed with divine authority, as if enforced by cosmic law itself.

A purple bolt of lightning, as thick as a tree trunk, blasted down from the dome—striking Cassandra directly.

BOOM!!

A smoking crater appeared in the golden ground.

Cassandra reappeared over ten meters away, her expression grim.

The spiritual realm wasn't an illusion. All power manifested here was real—provided you actually possessed it.

And now, Russell undoubtedly wielded true divine power.

If she hadn't dodged just in time, she would have been gravely wounded—or worse.

And because she existed here as a spirit, she couldn't ignore damage the way one might in the physical world.

She had walked right into the trap.

Without hesitation, Cassandra tried to retreat from the spiritual world.

She wasn't foolish enough to fight someone wielding divine power on their own turf.

But just as she attempted to exit—

Thunder surged through the walls, the dome, and the floor of the temple!

Cassandra gasped in pain as her form was repelled violently.

Failed to escape.

Staring at her in disbelief, Russell sneered:

"You think you can just come and go as you please?"

"I went through all this trouble to lure you in. You think I'd just let you walk away?"

At that moment, the full power of the [Spirit Hall] trait activated—relentlessly suppressing Cassandra's spiritual strength, while amplifying Russell's own!

Cassandra instantly sensed her power being drained. Her expression changed drastically. Without hesitation, she lashed out at Russell!

*Telekinetic strike—*aiming to crush his spiritual core in one blow!

But a thunderous crackle answered her assault.

Thor's armor flared, lightning dancing across its surface!

Her mental strike failed to even scratch the armor—let alone crush anything inside.

Russell's cold voice rang out again:

"If it were yesterday, you might've had a chance."

"But now? It's too late."

With a thought, dense lightning rained from the sky.

Cassandra responded instantly, summoning a transparent psychic barrier to shield herself.

It held—for a time.

But with each bolt of thunder, her face paled further. Cracks began to form across her spirit body, spreading top to bottom.

Already damaged from before, her spiritual form began to crumble!

Finally, she let out a scream of agony.

Her mental shield shattered, and her fractured spirit didn't survive more than two seconds in the thunderstorm.

She was annihilated.

Russell exhaled slowly.

He hadn't expected the once terrifying foe to fall so easily.

For a moment, the whole thing felt... unreal.

"It is unreal~"

A cold, bone-chilling voice came from behind.

Russell's eyes widened. His hair stood on end.

Without turning back, he unleashed a massive blast of lightning behind him!

BOOM!!

The attack hit indiscriminately—even blasting himself backward.

He slammed into a cluster of stone pillars, collapsing them in a cascade of rubble.

Moments later, Russell shook off the daze and climbed to his feet. He was bruised—but not hurt.

And then he saw it.

A grotesque baby with pinkish-purple skin, a large head, and a tiny, shriveled body now sat smugly on his throne.

Lightning scars marred its body from the last attack.

The creature pouted.

"I really hate that. Reminds me of my time in the womb..."

The baby sobbed mockingly, clutching its face:

"My cruel twin brother strangled me... he killed me without mercy."

"So yeah, I'm dead now."

"Aaaaaaaah!!!"

The baby's shriek split the air.

The entire spiritual realm trembled violently.

Russell could feel the suppression power of the Spirit Hall weakening.

Not good.

His power—though divine—hadn't fully awakened. He wasn't strong enough to suppress this thing forever.

If he stalled any longer, something might go horribly wrong!

"Thunder!"

With his command, lightning surged down again!

But the baby—Cassandra—vanished into thin air!

Russell's eyes blazed with fire—literally—as his thunderous gaze turned to flame.

In an instant, a sea of fire ignited all around him.

From the corner of his eye, he saw the baby reappear just five meters away, shrieking:

"You want to kill me too?! YOU WANT TO KILL ME TOO?!"

With a roar, a surge of telekinetic energy exploded outward, pushing the flames away.

But before it could recover—

Boom!

Another barrage of lightning struck!

The baby let out another piercing scream.

But what Russell saw next made his scalp crawl.

The baby's broken body began to split.

One... two... a dozen... a hundred!

Hundreds of malformed, corpse-like infants surged toward him like a tide of death.

"What kind of sick ability is this?!"

Russell cursed—rarely, but this time with full conviction.

He took a deep breath—and roared!

A visible shockwave of sonic energy exploded from his body, halting the grotesque infants in their tracks.

They froze in place.

At the same time, the fire in Russell's eyes faded—replaced by glowing arcs of lightning.

The roof of the Spirit Hall split apart—revealing the outside world.

Above was a massive cyclone of dark clouds, swirling violently, glowing with internal lightning, as if something ancient and terrifying stirred within.

His trump card.

Originally, Russell had thought he wouldn't need it.

But now...

"NOW!!!"

BOOOOOOM!!!

Obeying Thor's command, a pillar of divine lightning fell from the center of the vortex—piercing through the sky and smashing into the ground with world-ending force.

Everything below was obliterated.
