Marvel : Passive Upgrade System

In their view magic is just for enchanting weapons and healing. Illusions and other types of magic are petty tricks to entertain children. Not many learn them, the tomes collects dust in the library. Except enchantments and runes other types of magic are all ignored here. Ragnar stopped his inner monologue and opened the book before he started reading. There are two main ways to use magic :

1. Transform your own life force into magic 

2. Absorb the cosmic energy of universe 

second is limited as it's a very slow process. you need absorb and make the cosmic energy of the universe into your own reserve. It's a gradual and long process. This is also the main reason why many ignore this one. Because their own magic will grow at a very slow rate and takes centuries to become very powerful. 

First one is simple and used by many. Asgardians are strong and their used life force will regenerate in a few hours. Although there are many other ways many of them are forbidden. Like contracting eldritch entities, borrowing magic from other dimensions, making contract with other dieties. They're regarded as taboos by Asgard and anyone who did it will be given permanent exile as least punishment and death sentence as the main one.

 Odin will know if you do the first. Asgardians are more attuned to mystical and cosmic energies but their lack of interest in magic gradually made them lose a part of their advantage. Today Magic is only known for enchanting weapons and using them with their magic.

Ragnar chose the first approach. Why? His system is passive Upgrade System. If he can absorb cosmic energy he can manage to upgrade it. Ragnar stood there sitting cross legged. No this isn't cultivation. He is using the dormant cosmic energy around him to awaken the magic spark inside him. This is present all Asgardians. But few only managed to ignite this spark which is necessary to use magic. After this spark awakens his body absorb cosmic energy in a very small quantity and converts it into his own.

After a few years his body will generate this magic automatically from his life force but at that time the recovery rate will be already high and negligent compared to consumption. This is the reason why Asgardians grow stronger as they age. They're natural cosmic energy batteries. Although this cosmic energy will be converted into magic in their bodies after absorption.
