Marvel: My Eyes Defies Fate.

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Mordo.

"Is this the speed granted by the Eye of Annihilation?"

Kurogai muttered, not even sparing Kaecilius a glance.

That punch—lightning-fast and devastating—was powered entirely by the magic he had absorbed from Kaecilius's own sword. The Eye of Annihilation didn't just consume energy—it weaponized it. Kaecilius had essentially been struck by his own power.

"Using his own magic to crush him... poetic."

From the wreckage of the shattered wall, Kaecilius staggered to his feet. Blood trickled down his lip as he wiped it away and glared at Kurogai with venomous fury.

"You bastard…! How dare you humiliate the great Kaecilius! I'll kill you!"

His pride was wounded. He hadn't even seen the attack coming, let alone been able to block or counter it. The shame twisted into raw hatred, fueling his next move.

With a furious roar, Kaecilius gathered his magic once more. Crimson light surged in his palm, darker than before—corrupted, unstable. He was drawing on the power of the Dark Dimension without restraint.

It was reckless. Dangerous. But Kaecilius didn't care.

"If I can't beat him now, I may never get another chance."

Even if it risked exposure. Even if the Sorcerers of the London Sanctum noticed. The destruction of the Sanctum could wait—Kurogai couldn't be allowed to live.

"So this is how low you've fallen…" Kurogai said quietly, watching Kaecilius with calm disdain. "Still clinging to rage like a child."

Each of Kurogai's steps was measured. Controlled. Unshaken by the pulsing chaos in Kaecilius's hand.

He had no reason to fear dark magic anymore.

The magic sword earlier had proven it—the Annihilation Eye devoured even corrupted spells. Kaecilius, blinded by his own wrath, hadn't realized it yet. He believed more magic equaled more strength.

He was wrong.

"Die! Fall into eternal darkness!"

Kaecilius let out a deranged scream and hurled the dark magic straight at Kurogai.

The crimson blast tore through the air with terrifying momentum—

And unraveled instantly upon contact.

The energy dispersed like mist, devoured on the spot.

Kaecilius stood frozen, his lips parted in disbelief.

"Wha… what…?"

"You still don't understand?" Kurogai said, eyes glowing with vermilion runes. "Magic… has no effect on me anymore."

He raised his hand, not casting a spell, just releasing the power he had stolen—amplified by the Eye of Annihilation.

A shockwave burst forward.

Kaecilius barely had time to raise a shield before he was blasted backward, tumbling across the ground in a heap. Dust exploded outward. His followers, long gone. His strength, draining. His confidence, shattered.

"No… no! This is impossible! What are you?!"

Terror overtook him.

Kurogai didn't even answer—just stepped closer, eyes unblinking.

"This… This isn't a sorcerer."

"This is a demon."

Even Dormammu, Kaecilius's revered master, might not possess this kind of power—to nullify magic itself and grow stronger from it.

Kaecilius turned, desperate to escape.

But Kurogai was already there.

One hand wrapped tightly around Kaecilius's throat, lifting him into the air with zero effort. For anyone else, the sight of a boy barely ten years old holding up a full-grown man would be absurd. For Kurogai, it was natural.

Power pulsed from his arm.

"Let's talk," Kurogai said coldly. "Why did you suddenly steal from the library?"

Kaecilius wheezed but said nothing.

"Didn't think you would."

"Fine—I'll find out myself."

Kurogai's vermilion cross-runes faded. In their place, a new symbol flickered to life—the red sigil of the Geass Eye.

He activated the command.

"State the full circumstances of your actions at Kamar-Taj."

Kaecilius's pupils glowed faint red. His body stilled.

"After being defeated by you," he began dully, "I was filled with hatred… wanted revenge. That night, a figure in black appeared in my room…"

Kurogai narrowed his eyes, listening carefully.

A stranger in black? Someone had manipulated Kaecilius, pushed him toward stealing the forbidden texts, orchestrated the librarian's death. Kaecilius wasn't the true mastermind—just a pawn.

Kurogai's grip tightened.

"So you were just the bait."

He released Kaecilius, letting him fall like trash.

His mind had already put the pieces together.

There was only one person who had the motive, the cunning, and the knowledge to orchestrate all this from the shadows.

"Mordo…"

"So this was all your doing."

Kurogai's eyes burned cold.
