Chapter 108: CHAPTER 106: War Game, Part 3

The sound of buildings collapsing.

And the roar of terror erupting like a wave through seemingly endless trees.

A massive upheaval engulfed the entire Ishtar Familia. The countless strategies prepared by their high-level adventurers — traps, containment spells, meticulously planned ambushes — were all crushed, reduced to nothing in the face of the terrifying might of large-scale destruction magic.

In the blink of an eye, a deadly silence fell over all of Orario.

Everyone knew magic was powerful. Everyone was aware — even if only through stories — of the weight carried by a far-reaching spell.

But seeing it with their own eyes was another reality altogether.

When they witnessed Yuri's magical release, the very air in the city froze. The sky seemed ready to collapse, and the earth twisted in response to the impact.

Most had never seen a mage above Level 5 cast magic in their entire lives. Many had only heard tales of the mythical "wide-area annihilation magic" and dismissed it as a distant legend or wild exaggeration.

But now, right before their eyes, the sky was changing color. The earth was screaming. The city was trembling.

The grand streets of Ishtar Familia's territory, and even the goddess's own temple, gave way — swallowed by a magical storm that seemed torn from an ancient epic.

"With magic like that... the number of adventurers doesn't matter," sighed Finn, the first to break the silence.

"His magic... completely surpassed mine," murmured Riveria, eyes locked on the scene before her. "Even I... have never managed something on this scale...!"

"They're going to die! Even an entire squad of Level 5s wouldn't survive a direct hit!"

"This is insane!"

"What Familia could withstand something like that?"

"It's like a single man is a whole army of magic!"

Amid the shock and fear sweeping through Orario, Yuri advanced toward the Ishtar Familia's base.

The massive gate was obliterated.

He entered.

Not as an invader, but as an absolute sovereign. His eyes seemed to pierce through the very walls of the world, and his presence dominated the surroundings as if the entire world lay beneath his feet.

Staring at the goddess seated upon her throne, his voice echoed, ice-cold:

"Ishtar. Step down."

His words, carried by the power of the Mirror of the Gods, spread like thunder to every corner of Orario.

In the world of Danmachi, the human system had long been shaped and subjugated by the existence of the gods. All authority, all power structures, were under divine rule. Mortals couldn't oppose them. They couldn't even defy them.

And yet... Yuri dared to command.

In thousands of years of history, no one had ever done such a thing.

In the Tower of Babel, the gods watched in silence. The young man, with his almost ethereal appearance, seemed more beautiful than many of them — but behind that serene face was an arrogance impossible to ignore.

The goddess Freya, enraptured, couldn't contain her fascination. A feverish glow overtook her face as her eyes clung to the image of Yuri.

"That's your essence... the true beauty behind this radiant soul."

"Truly..." She blushed deeply. "The most dazzling and overwhelming existence in the world."

Freya's words echoed shamelessly through the gods' assembly. Hermes, still shocked, let out a brief laugh.

"That's why he's the Sunsetter. That's how legends are made..."

Loki, with her usual mischievous air, smirked in approval.

"That kid's nature... is a lot like mine."

Meanwhile, adventurers across Orario reacted with a mix of awe and resentment. Some saw Yuri as a celestial hero. Others, as a mad, arrogant fool.

But in Ishtar's sanctuary, the emotions were far more heated.

"Yuri, how dare you insult Lady Ishtar...?!"

An animalistic voice echoed through the hall, and then came Friné Jamil — the Level 5 warrior whose monstrous presence was impossible to ignore.

She was the personal protector of the goddess Ishtar. Her gigantic body, overwhelming strength, and thirst for battle made her one of the most feared forces in the city. Now, she was ready to kill.

"You'll regret every word you said, boy!"

The atmosphere twisted under the weight of her murderous aura.

"I'll break every bone in your body! Then you'll learn what it means to worship a real goddess!"

Yuri remained silent, looking at Friné with disgust.

He didn't draw a weapon.

He simply clenched his fist.

Friné roared and leapt like a rampaging beast.

The ground shook. The air was split by a sharp whistle. A fist the size of a human head came crashing down on Yuri like a meteor.

"BOOOOM——!"

The impact was deafening. The ground cracked. Dust and stone were thrown skyward.

The explosion hurled everyone nearby like rag dolls, slamming them into walls, burying them under rubble. Screams were lost in the smoke.

But at the center of the attack...

Yuri was still standing.

Arm outstretched, blocking the blow with a single hand.

Friné froze. Her eyes trembled.

"Im...possible...!"

"You're slow," Yuri said calmly.

Then, with a single, sharp movement, he hurled Friné backward with such force that she smashed through two temple columns before crashing into the wreckage.

Silence fell over the hall.

Ishtar's eyes widened.

Friné's eyes burned like twin beacons of fury. She let out a roar that shook the walls — a grotesque, animalistic thunder. Her feet pounded the ground with such force that the luxurious carpet tore like paper, and the marble beneath it cracked with a snap.

In an instant, her monstrous body lunged forward, leaving a trail of violent wind in her wake. Her clenched fist sliced the air, and the sound that followed — like multiple explosions — echoed through the hall like tires bursting under immense pressure.

Friné didn't attack like a mere warrior. She was a hurricane. Elbows, knees, feet, fists — all moved with brutal rhythm, as if she had eight arms. A living storm.

From above, the arrogant eyes of goddess Ishtar watched the scene with disdain and delight.

"Hehehe... Ridiculous," she sneered, voice laced with venom. "That blind fool thought he could treat a Level 5 like he treated those Apollo Familia clowns? He hasn't even used magic or weapons... is he fighting with just his body?"

She leaned forward, lips curling in scorn.

"Each level is an abyss. Even if someone surpasses one or two levels... a Level 5 adventurer is on another plane. That child will be beaten into dust."

Her eyes gleamed with hatred at the mention of Yuri's name.

The entire city held its breath.

In the hall, the wind from Friné's punch made the temple tremble. She seemed to have doubled in size — like a titan risen from the depths. In front of her, Yuri looked like a leaf in a storm — small, fragile, defenseless in the eyes of the onlookers.

Taverns and city squares exploded in terrified murmurs.

"A Level 5... there's no way to beat that in close combat!"

"These are the real monsters of Orario!"

Those watching through the Mirror of the Gods could barely comprehend what they saw. To them, even a Level 3 adventurer was unreachable. A Level 5... was practically a myth. A being only other Level 5s could challenge on equal terms.

But now, that colossal being was about to crush the newcomer, Yuri.

And then...

Yuri advanced.

Without hesitation. Without fear.

He raised his fist.

Friné smiled, deranged.

"You're DEAD!"

Her body twisted in midair. Muscles surged like molten steel. She was unstoppable now — betting everything on a single strike that could shatter walls and armor alike.

And then—

"BOOOM!"

The impact rang out like a bronze bell struck by lightning.

The entire temple quaked.

The shockwave blew everything around them away.

And then... silence.

Everyone stared, expecting to see Yuri's body reduced to a smear on the floor.

But what they saw... was the opposite.

Yuri was still standing.

Friné's full-force blow had amounted to nothing more than a faint tremor on his body.

His arm had absorbed the impact. His feet were planted in the ground like the roots of an ancient tree.

Friné's eyes trembled. Confusion. Panic.

Yuri closed his fingers.

And then—

"BANG!"

The crisp sound of a single punch echoed like a caged thunderclap.

Yuri's fist struck Friné directly in the head.

Her expression froze.

And in the next instant, her entire body collapsed like a building without a foundation.

She sank into the ground. Literally.

The impact carved a deep crater into the temple floor. Dust and stone exploded upward. Friné vanished into the pit like a meteor crashing from the sky.

Nothing moved.

The smile on Ishtar's lips died. Her laughter was smothered by a reality she could not accept.

Even the gods atop the Tower of Babel rose instinctively. Eyes wide. In disbelief.

Yuri had defeated a Level 5 warrior with a single punch.

One of Orario's monsters, reduced to rubble with a direct blow. No weapons. No magic.

"Impossible..." whispered Ishtar, her fingers trembling.

She knew Friné. Knew her strength, her stats maxed at the limits of Level 5. A blow from that woman could crush anyone.

And yet...

"With one punch..."

An overwhelming silence swept through the entire city.

(End of chapter)

"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
