Marvel: Lustful of the king of angels

Chapter 12: Hill, What Do You Think? He’s Handsome, Too Charming

In the top-floor office of the Triskelion building,

a bald man with a reflective scalp sat at the farthest end of the room.

His hands propped up his chin, and he wore his usual black trench coat, a black eyepatch slung over one eye.

The dark eyepatch paired with his bald head gave Nick Fury a distinctly fierce aura—not "egg," but definitely commanding.

At that moment,

he turned to the right-side screen, where Tony Stark's press conference had just concluded.

After Tony announced the closure of the weapons division and left,

Fury switched to the left screen, watching the video of Lucifer gently flapping his wings, surrounded by a flock of birds.

Fury pondered for a moment,

then looked up at Maria Hill, who was equally engrossed in the video, and asked, "What do you think?"

"He's handsome, too charming," Hill replied without hesitation, her eyes still on the screen.

Hill stood tall, her tactical outfit and ponytail giving her a clean, sharp look.

Her hands clasped behind her back, and her stance exuded confidence and poise.

"Hmm?" Fury looked confused.

"Oh, no!" Hill snapped out of it, then seriously met Fury's gaze.

"I mean, the angel's appearance is exactly as perfect as the legends describe."

"But we don't know if his abilities or history align with mythology."

Fury fell into deep thought.

With S.H.I.E.L.D.'s investigative capabilities, they knew the video was genuine.

Agent reports confirmed Lucifer 's appearance was real.

So now the question was:

Is he good? Or... no, he must be good.

The question of morality lingered briefly before Fury dismissed it.

If angels could turn evil, he couldn't fathom any other explanation.

New questions arose:

"Why did the angel appear?"

"What's his purpose?"

"What's his condition?"

Fury slowly voiced these three questions.

As director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he had to be wary of anything too powerful.

No one had answers yet.

The only way to know was to ask directly.

Fury swiped through dozens of photos taken on New York streets—footage captured by local cameras.

Lucifer hadn't hidden himself, so S.H.I.E.L.D. had easily tracked him.

Activating the map function on the monitor,

Fury looked at the most luxurious presidential suite hotel in New York.

That's where the angel was temporarily staying.

And in just two or three days, the angel had legally amassed a fortune online—more than most people could earn in a lifetime.

Consider this:

For the first day or two, the angel had been studying in libraries and near computers.

To achieve so much in such a short time—his learning ability must be terrifying.

At this thought, Fury rubbed his temples.

Blue and thin, sigh... What a hassle.

Just then,

Hill slightly lowered her head, pressed her earpiece, and answered a call.

Her expression turned serious—it seemed important.

After a while, she ended the call.

Fury watched curiously, waiting for her report.

Hill organized her thoughts.

"Director Fury, since just now, Stark Industries' stock has plummeted by over 30%."

"I figured as much," Fury nodded.

As predicted, Stark Industries' core business was its weapons division.

Closing it was like cutting off its most-used hand.

"But..." Hill added suddenly, "on the trading platform, an account called 'Angel Investment' made the largest profit by short-selling."

The moment she said this,

both Hill and Fury fell silent, speechless.

Was it a coincidence?

No, definitely not.

Ordinary people couldn't trace trading accounts, but S.H.I.E.L.D. had the backend capability.

They'd claim it was for privacy, but who would believe that?

Since Tony's statement—

that he knew the angel and had been saved by him—

though they didn't know what Tony and Lucifer discussed,

it was clear the angel had predicted Stark's stock crash.

Maybe Tony had shared his plan to close the weapons division with Lucifer ?

"Angel... Tony said his name is Lucifer , right?" Fury recalled. "Does an angel like this have a title?"

"Knowing his title might help us understand him faster."

There is one.

But it's not what you'd expect.

How about King of Angels?

"Maybe he's not the same as the angels in our records," Hill speculated. "Perhaps he's a different angelic race?"

"From what we've observed, he's very distinct, aside from some similarities."

"We have no evidence he's the same as the angels we know."

Of course, they couldn't yet see the difference between Lucifer 's angelic civilization and their understanding.

But once they had micro-wormhole or time-space wing technology, it would become clear.

Lucifer 's angelic civilization wasn't just angels.

They were gods.

True gods.
