Marvel: Kakashi Of The Sharingan

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Dealing with Abomination

Hulk and the Abomination's fight shaked the ground like a localized earthquake. Buildings crumbled, cars lay overturned, and civilians fled in panic.

Kakashi thought 'Two Hulks? Ross really knows how to complicate a job.' His mission had been to recapture just Bruce Banner.

'Gotta renegotiate the pay. Two monsters, double the hazard.'

Kakashi's eye crinkled, a smirk forming beneath his mask. 'Time to have a chat with the general.' He activated Kamui, his form warping into the helicopter hovering above the battlefield. The chopper's interior erupted in surprise—soldiers jumped, hands fumbling for weapons, and General Thaddeus Ross spun, his face a mix of shock and fury. Betty Ross gasped, clutching the seat.

"Now, now," Kakashi said, raising his hands in mock surrender, his tone light and teasing. "It's just your friendly neighborhood mercenary, Hound. You got a mission for me, General Ross?" He leaned casually against the wall, enjoying the startled looks.

He was being extra quirky these days to prevent loneliness that was creeping in ever since he came to this world.

In this world, far from Konoha's familiar faces, his playful antics were a shield against the quiet ache of isolation.

Ross's eye twitched, his jaw clenching. "Why the hell are you late, Hound?" he growled, his voice barely containing his irritation.

Kakashi tilted his head, his eyes crinkling with exaggerated innocence. "Well, y'see, I had to feed this old man on the way. Poor guy was so thin, I swear he'd fly off in a stiff breeze. Couldn't just leave him, could I?" He shrugged, his tone dripping with mock sincerity.

Ross's eye twitched again, a vein pulsing in his temple. He exhaled sharply, pinching the bridge of his nose.

'A month of searching, not a damn trace, and now he pops up like a jack-in-the-box,' Ross thought, his frustration warring with grudging respect.

"Fine," Ross snapped. "Your new mission is to subdue that monster down there. The gray one. Get to it."

Kakashi didn't move, crossing his arms with a theatrical sigh. "Hold up, General. Mission parameters said one Hulk. You're serving up two. That's a whole different paycheck."

Ross's face reddened. "The green one's friendly," he said through gritted teeth.

Kakashi raised an eyebrow, his tone dry. "Friendly? What makes you think he's in control? Last time we danced, he tried to turn me into paste. You sure he's not just gonna smash me for old times' sake?"

Ross glared, but Betty cut in, her voice trembling but firm. "He is friendly. Bruce is still in there. Please, don't hurt him."

Kakashi glanced at her, his eye softening slightly. 'She's got Naruto's heart—sees the man, not the monster.' He nodded, then turned back to Ross. "Alright, General, but I'm expecting a fat bonus for this. Two Hulks, one mercenary. Math checks out."

Ross growled, but waved a hand. "Fine, your pay's updated. Now move!"

Kakashi gave a mock salute, his eye crinkling. "Alright, General Ross, I'm off." He stepped to the chopper's open door, wind whipping his cloak. Betty's voice stopped him.

"Please," she said, her eyes pleading. "Don't hurt the green one."

Kakashi nodded, his tone gentle. "Got it, miss." With that, he leaped, Kamui warping him to the battlefield below.

The Abomination loomed over the Hulk, its spiked fist raised to deliver a crushing blow. Kakashi materialized in front of the fallen Hulk, his hands flashing through seals. "Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" A gale-force wind erupted, slamming the Abomination into an abandoned building across the street.

The structure's walls buckled, dust billowing as the monster roared in fury.

Kakashi glanced at the Hulk, who was staggering to his feet, green eyes glaring at him.

"Yo, big guy, remember me?" Kakashi asked, his tone light but wary. The Hulk snarled, baring teeth, and Kakashi sighed, scratching his neck. "No hard feelings, alright? Our first meeting was kinda rough, but I was just doing my job. They say keep work separate from friendships, y'know? Plus, your girl up there says I shouldn't hurt you, so let's play nice."

The Hulk stared, then—surprisingly—snorted, a sound almost like a grudging laugh. Kakashi's eye widened. 'Did he just… get my joke?'

Before he could process, the Hulk leaped, charging the Abomination with a roar. Kakashi blinked. 'Well, that's new.'

The two monsters clashed, their blows shaking the street. The Abomination hurled parked cars at the Hulk, who swatted them aside like flies. The Hulk landed a solid hook, sending the Abomination stumbling, but it countered with a flurry of precise punches.

Kakashi's Sharingan spun, analyzing. He could surprisingly hear the Abomination speaking.

'Its Blonsky? Now that's surprising. Though it makes sense, why Hulk is losing. Blonsky is in control of himself even in that state. He's got combat experience, unlike Banner. Hulk's stronger, but he's all instinct.'

The Abomination knocked the Hulk into a wall, rubble burying him. Kakashi warped in front of Blonsky. The monster grinned, its voice a guttural rasp. "You're that mercenary. Maybe you'll be a better match."

Kakashi tilted his head, his tone dry. "A battle maniac, huh? Been there, fought those." He recalled Gai's endless challenges, a fond pang hitting him. 'This guy's no Gai, though. Far less skilled and well... friendly.'

The Abomination swung, its fist a blur, but Kakashi dodged effortlessly.

"Chidori Stream!"

Lightning crackled around him, a web of electricity shocking the Abomination. The monster roared, staggering, but Kakashi was already moving, his hand glowing with chakra. "Lightning Blade!" The Chidori's chirping filled the air as he dashed forward. Blonsky swung again, but Kakashi ducked, slamming the lightning-charged fist into the Abomination's hip. The strike pierced deep, blue sparks erupting as the monster screamed in pain.

Kakashi phased through a retaliatory swipe with Kamui, landing lightly.

'Kakuzu's jutsu would be perfect here,' he thought, recalling the Akatsuki's Earth jutsu.

He wove seals, his hand darkening with chakra. "Earth Style: Iron Spear!" His fist hardened and darkened, and he slammed it into Blonsky's neck, the impact driving the Abomination into the pavement with a crater-forming crash. The monster's eyes rolled back, unconscious.

Kakashi straightened, dusting his hands. 'One down.' He turned to the Hulk, who'd clawed free of the rubble, green eyes locked on him, fists clenched. Kakashi raised his hands, his tone casual. "Yo, big guy, my mission was just to subdue this one this time. You get me? No beef with you."

The Hulk stared, then nodded—a slow, deliberate motion that caught Kakashi off guard.

"Hulk likes you, puny human. Hulk says bye., puny human."

Before Kakashi could react, the Hulk leaped, soaring into the night sky, vanishing into the distance.

General Ross's voice exploded through the chopper "Stop him! Don't let Banner escape!"

Kakashi ignored those words.
